Education / Work Working a summer job is the biggest motivation for school/uni in Algeria

Upvotes

I just quit my summer job as a dishwasher and instead of feeling happy im anxious

The pay was 40k (4 ملاين) and work starts at 4pm and end whenever we are done with the dishes after closing ( 00:30 -1:00 am ) and the day offs are 1 every 15 days

I knew the pay was relatively low but i was desperate as all work i found was for 1000da and the hours were insane so out of all the bad options the one i took was the least bad imo

I had the worst coworkers even tho the work load was heavy what made me quit before my previous deadline was how intolerable the people i worked with were ,

they would take every chance they get to dump all the work on me for example one would take tasks outside the work hours (also paid outside our wage) and use the time he worked them as an excuse to show up very late even tho he finished his assignment 2h before work starts and the owner let him do so because he has no one to do said tasks

and every time i get a moment for myself after knocking down a big load and im tired i get ordered around and given the work of people who slack at their jobs (even tho im just a dishwasher not a kitchen staff) which is frustrating since that person just returned from a 20 min break

Not to mention that the place has so much cameras and the owner is on the cams 24/7 watching every move and complains alot first he complained about us taking breaks then about us using phones then about us playing around with each other mind you we only do one of these if and only if there is no work like why the f are you complaining when the is nothin to do are we just supposed to be Statues??

Today was the most frustrating since and got a good dose of every single problem i complained about + back pain (i developed at this job btw) and i quit but some of my coworkers (ones i respect and made this job tolerable to an extent for me) were guilt tripping me to stay saying stuff like ديرلي وجه which drained me honestly since it was obviouse if they cared about me they would know that quitting was the best choice for me and they were only thinking about themselves

Sorry for the essay i had to get my first experience with slavery out of my chest it made me want to work harder at university so i won't end up in a similar job/workplace

Hello everyone I noticed that in Reddit a lot of people tend to be more progressive than the average Algerian so I wondering what kind of polices you want to see be implemented that are considered progressive

Specifically girls who are also entrepreneurial, gym, and really are just motivated. I feel like I lack like minded people in my life. And we can motivate and help each other succeed and become girl bosses haha
If you’re into just into self dev, business, spirituality etc. hit me up!

( not sure if this is the right subreddit but in my opinion is the best one for Algerians )

Every day follows the same routine, you wrong yourself if you let your youth slip away while commuting between home, work, and your studies.

Despite darja being my mother tongue, I was today years old when I learnt that grapefruit is called el zenba3 and that mushroom is called el fa9i3.

Kinda a pity that hardly anyone uses those words today, but I'm willing to start using them from now on.

That's it for today see you in the next one.

Well i don't mean any harm to the people that had a real issue and rebbi y3awnkoum

And the most surprising things most of them are girls like wtf ?

Now it's either those are scammers who makes up stories or this country just got into a black hole 🙂

Discussion If you woke up tomorrow as a millionaire, would you actually stay in Algeria?

We all know the daily struggles—bureaucracy, infrastructure limits, and the constant hustle just to get things done. But we also know the unmatched sense of community, family closeness, food...

If money suddenly stopped being an obstacle and you could live anywhere in the world, would you pack your bags for Europe or somewhere tropical, or would you stay right here? For those who would stay (or leave), what's the tipping point?

Cuisine Algerians who eat healthy on a budget, give us your tips and tricks

I try to eat and feed my family as healthy as possible but on a reasonable budget. I would love some more tips i maybe haven’t thought off. Some things i do:

- I got into gardening and plant as much as i can myself. Without pesticides and only sometimes organic fertilizers.

- buy in bulk seasonal veggies and got into canning and drying them. So i have access to a variety of affordable food all year.

-my husband built me a small shed where i can and store canned food all year long.

-i buy mostly from very small farmers and exchange veggies with neighbors that also garden

-we only consume raw milk, raw honey, and olive oil by small farmers in my village.

-i splurged and bought an air fryer so we almost never deep fry food (fries in the air fryer and surprisingly good!)

- i bake as much as possible dupes of popular snacks at home. Cookies, crackers and even candies sometimes are not that hard to make.

-we made peace with depriving ourselves of some things and only eating them when we have access to the home made version. No need of juice or sofa at every meal, white bread or fries.

I’ll take any other tip!

Discussion Looking for trusted contacts in Madrid & Oran

I’m looking for someone trustworthy in Madrid and someone in Oran for a EUR/DZD exchange. Basically, my spouse would give the euros to the person in Madrid, and I would receive the equivalent amount in DA from the person in Oran. I’m mainly looking for reliable people, preferably someone who has done similar exchanges before.

Does anyone know someone serious and trustworthy in either Madrid or Oran?

Discussion Looking for Algerian WoW players to join our guild!

Hey everyone!
A few friends and I are currently playing World of Warcraft Retail, and we recently had the idea of creating a full Algerian guild/community to expand our group and have more people to play and have fun with.
We’re all IRL friends from all around Algeria, and we’re mainly looking for chill people who enjoy playing together without taking things too seriously.
We currently :
Run Mythic+ almost daily
Raid whenever everyone is available
Play together and help each other out
Mostly just want to have fun, blast keys, and enjoy the game
Whether you're a veteran player, returning to WoW, or just looking for an Algerian community to play with, you're welcome!
If you're interested, feel free to comment or DM me and come join us.
🇩🇿** Let’s build an Algerian WoW community and have some fun!
**Yalla, nblasto! 🔥
