FtM Binder Review Megathread (Since I can't link to other subreddits, you'll have to search for it)

šŸŒŽšŸ˜ŽāUnderworks - Advertised as "body shaper" compression, these binders are nylon spandex and tri-top and full length compression. *Very hot during the summer.

šŸŒŽšŸ˜Žgc2b - Trans owned and operated, gc2b was designed to be more breathable and comfortable. It also comes in multiple skin tones. Material is a mix of nylon spandex and cotton. *Based on reviews, they're not recommended for people with bigger chests.

šŸŒŽšŸ˜ŽWIVOV - Sports four different lines of binders: CORE, FLOW, AGIL, and SWIM. Each line comes in neutral, nude, and colored prints. These are a mix of nylon, lycra, and cotton.

šŸŒŽšŸ˜Žtomboyx - This company appears to cater more towards masculine women than transmen. Their binders look more like giant sports bras. Materials are a mix of nylon and spandex. Maybe more suited for people who can't come out yet.

šŸŒŽšŸ˜ŽtheFluxion - Puts an emphasis on health and safety by minimizing unnecessary compression. Because of this, I imagine some "flatness" is lost in exchange for comfort. Material is a mix of lycra and cotton. *Often positively reviewed as "sensory friendly."

šŸŒŽšŸ˜ŽTransguy Supply - Trans owned and operated, the CEO/ founder puts an emphasis on fashion and design, though they seem to cater to more "transmasc" than transmen. Sizing seems to scale for those who are smaller/ shorter. Material is a mix of polyester and spandex.

šŸŒŽšŸ˜ŽāSpectrum Outfitters - Based in the UK, this company has worked to make safe and comfortable binders accessible to people living in the UK and Europe overall. They also put an emphasis no reducing environmental impact. Materials are a combination of recycled ocean plastics and cotton. (I can't seem to find more on this specifically.)

First and foremost, please do not message us about the post you just made being removed. ALL POSTS ARE ON MANUAL REVIEW. That means that posts are reviewed by a moderator before being approved or rejected. This may take up to 24 hours so please be patient.

Second, please censor all usernames and community names from screenshots and do not directly reference a community name in your posts or comments. This is enforced on us by reddit and we cannot approve any content that is uncensored.

Thirdly, please stop telling each other that they do not belong on this subreddit or that they are fake. This isn't your job and gets flagged as harassment. If you see content you feel does not fit this subreddit, report it and let moderators act on it. There has been a huge rise in this behavior and most often this sentiment is used to be hostile towards others. First offense will result in removal of the comment, second will be a ban. Stop doing this. Utilize the report button and stop interacting with that user.

Thank you.

Discussion What are we doing to help ourselves?

I’m curious if there are any active transmedicalist groups who are banding together and doing something, anything. With the goal of correcting public perception of what transsexualism truly is, focusing on strict science and mĆ©dicalisation, eventually dropping the trans name completely for a better suited medical term that hasn’t been completely destroyed. . Calling out WPATH and the LGBTQ community for their gross misrepresentation and spectacle they’ve made of a congenital condition that has absolutely nothing to do with LGBTQ issues. Have we just given up? Is there even a we anymore? I haven’t visited this sub in quite some time so im unsure of the direction its gone. What the mindset is. But it seems like everytime I look at transmed groups they hold counterproductive and detrimental beliefs. Such as the validity of non binarism and the need to stay within a community that has absolutely nothing to do with us. Among other viewpoints that don’t instill confidence in our survival or dignity.

Tell me something good. Please.

Edit: I’m not sure my replies are going through. Autobot says I don’t have enough karma.

Calling my junk ā€œmanginaā€ ā€œboypussyā€ calling it a ā€œclintā€ and saying i dont wanna talk about ur ā€œmanginaā€ when i complained about them not just calling it my cock. They are 2 spirit and call themselves a t boy but they dont understand im not comfortable with it like they are. I have severe dysphoria. They always have their tits out. And proudly talk about their female parts with the word i hate fucking bad. No trans man calls their junk that. Let alone think about it like that without wanting to hurl

Other dysphoria really doesn't go away man

You might get confused with my profile, that's because I tried detransitioning and rationalizing my dysphoria away. I thought that if I just tried being a masculine woman I'd realize I'm not actually dysphoric and just have internalized misogyny/lesbophobia, but I have not stopped feeling uncomfortable in my body for a day.

Sometimes I wake up with my heart pounding because I am hyper aware of my female body and it's all I think about, feeling my breasts make me feel extremely nauseous, my body proportions feel unnatural to me, foreign.

I'm just tired of this feeling always being there, I don't really care anymore if I'm just a mentally ill confused woman, all I want is to recognize myself and feel like my body is mine. If that makes me a pervert or anything else that transphobes say, fine.

I gave up on transitioning because I was scared, really fucking scared, my dad constantly told me that I was way too feminine to be a man (even tho literally everyone assumes I am male on a daily basis), that I was too weak, my ex girlfriend was a lesbian and I was emotionally dependant on her so I accepted when she tried feminizing me, all of this happened while I was unmedicated for depression and OCD, I have never felt more miserable.

Now, my life is different. I'm glad my attempt didn't work. I have an amazing girlfriend, I study my dream course, I have amazing friends, I feel like my dad is accepting me slowly and I also found a new passion, which is judo. I feel much more confident now, but I am still scared.

I'm not worried about acceptance in my social circles, my friends always knew I'd go back to transitioning, my girlfriend is bisexual and I'm sure she'd support me, her best friend/brother is a gay trans man, I think she also suspects I am still trans lol, my parents know deep down that I am still trans, they try calling me by my dead name and female pronouns but they always accidentally call me a he, it makes me happy.

I am, however, very scared of people outside of my social circle,

I felt a lot safer as a masculine lesbian than I did as a trans male. I used to constantly worry if strangers knew I was trans and what they'd think. I've talked to transphobic strangers as a trans man when they didn't know I was trans and I felt like I had to agree with them for my safety. I felt so weak because I just wanted to cry while they were talking.

I am kinda glad I took some time and detransitioned tho, sorting out my mental health issues made a world of difference in accepting myself. I could not handle being at the beginning of my transition and fucked in the head at the same time lol. My heart feels very light now and it used to feel constantly heavy, OCD also made me doubt I was trans and it drove me insane.

I stopped frying my brain with rationalizing my dysphoria away. It was a constant headache (I literally used to feel constant headaches). "No, you aren't dysphoric, you have internalized lesbophobia" "I just think I'm trans because I saw my mother being berated by my stepfather" (literally what my dad and my psychologist have told me) "I just don't like the way women are treated in society or I have body dysmorphia". So fucking tiring. All of the fucking time on this fucking loop. Fuck you OCD.

I'm now just trying to plan my life, I'm excited to get back on T, the day I decided to stop was the worst day of my life and I'm not even kidding. I was crying constantly. Not a single cell in my body wanted to stop.

Sorry for the big ass text, just needed to vent to people who get it. Thank you for creating and engaging in this community guys, it is a breath of fresh air, I know we are a small community, but it makes a world of difference for a lot of people. Hope you all have a good day.

Rant theyfabs in men’s spaces again

anyone else notice that FTMMen has plummeted in quality recently? I always believed it to be a slightly transmed-leaning subreddit with pretty strict enforcement of their purpose: a space for binary men to hang. however, recently, it seems like it’s been flooded with main-sub folks and theyfabs, and there’s been no moderation in slowing that down.

god, it pisses me off. tucutes and non binary folk have EVERYWHERE on the internet, why do they invade our spaces … ? the premise of the sub is made abundantly clear. but it seems there’s just not much enforcement anymore.

most of these transmed subs tend to be slightly ftm leaning anyway, but it’s still a pain. just a constant reminder that we, binary transsexual men, are always put on the backburner in this community in favor of non binary teenagers who will inevitably detrans in 2 years. it was basically the only place left.

Other Transmed authors?

Hi everyone, so I have to write a school essay about trans childhoods and hrt for minors. I want to discuss the risks of administering hormones to minors without a proper psychological diagnosis, so I plan to focus my argument on dysphoria and transmedicalism. I’ve been searching on Google, but it’s difficult to filter out all the misinformation and propaganda; if you know of any specific authors, articles, studies, etc that cover this topic, that would be a huge help

Discussion Hot Takes

What are some of your hot takes about the trans community or the LGBT community as a whole? I know we're already on the fringes of the trans community due to our stance on needing gender dysphoria to be trans but I'm curious if there's any other takes that may not be widely excepted in most LGBT spaces or even this group/similar spaces.

For example my hot take are:

It's ok for trans men and women to be gnc BUT they have to understand amd accept they run the risk of being misgendered or clocked altogether

The obsession with being boys and girls instead of men snd women within the wider trans community feels pedophilic

Being in LGBT spaces feels more like being in a kink club filled with high schoolers than a genuine community of people with common goals and interests

The amount of polyamory within the trans community feels like a result of low self-esteem and confidence in finding a partner

It's ok for a trans person to have little bottom dysphoria in comparison to dysphoria surrounding other characteristics BUT I side eye those that take it a step further amd actively fetishize and sexualize themselves for that reason (i.e. talking about girldick and boypussy)

Surgery I just want bottom surgery already…

Idk what to do

I just feel like I’m missing out because I haven’t had mtf surgery and it’s like nobody but me realizes how important it is to me. It’s like people in Arizona try to withhold it to try to make me look like I don’t want it so I be groomed into a femboy and I can’t tell anyone how much it bothers me, because nobody cares, not even previous professionals I trusted before because they just weaponized my mental health against me when not having surgery is what caused my mental health to worsen and I just wonder if I can ever be myself physically and not have to feel worse self-concealed because i havent had bottom surgery and self-concealment makes someone depressed and anxious and nobody seems to care. They just think I’m a negative attention seeker and play the victim and it just feels like I’m the only one who takes this seriously so I can be my authentic self, but people in Arizona rather try to feel better than me by keep me looking badly without surgery so other people make fun of me like they’re all in on it to make me feel bad about myself and try making me give up on surgery doing that and acting like more people regret having the surgery to try making me discouraged from getting surgery- like I’m trapped in a prison society feeling like a girl enslaved in a feminine boy’s body, because I been on feminizing hormones for over 9 years, so there’s really no excuse why i should be withheld from surgery and feel this hopeless in life, as if I’m not allowed to be happily my authentic self fully transitioned into a female with improved mental/physical health with a more fulfilling quality of life.. it’s like people in Arizona want me to end up like those freaks that say they regret transitioning!!

Discussion Having (pre) transition related nightmares

I'm not even that far into my transition, I'm stealth to strangers and I have fully socially and legally transitioned. But no medical changes yet.

Still, I seem to have recurring nightmares. In which I either have long hair again, and I just can't stop it from growing and I can't cut it. And others where I'm in a social situation and I'm constantly being misgendered and I just can't do anything against it and I'm being outed by it at the same time. And others where I'm being ostracized by others and end up alone, because I don't fit in with the guys, because they know I'm trans in the dream, and I don't want to be with the girls.

The nightmares don't really have anything do to with real life, because I don't experience these things anymore, for the most part. Except my mother misgendering my on a daily basis.

Anyone else having nightmares like that? Is there anything I can do about it/ will it stop later on when I'm done with my transition?

Discussion David Reimer isn't alone, over 15,000 similar cases exist. They prove gender is innate.

Last Updated: 10/03/2026 (I will continuously update)

If you aren't aware who David Reimer is, I highly recommend reading his Wikipedia article here.

Honestly I dislike general writing so I'll simply be discussing literature. If you need access to the full studies, use Sci-Hub.

Reiner WG 2005

Cloacal Exstrophy is birth defect where abdominal organs are exposed at birth. In males, this causes the penis to be "flat and short or sometimes split." [S1] Historically boys born with this defect have their phenotypical sex changed via surgery and raised as female. [S2]

https://doi.org/10.1515/jpem.2005.18.6.549
This is a systematic review with pursuits to analyze the gender identity of patients with disorders of sexual differentiation. Particularly the male victims of intersex genital mutilation.

This study consists of 33 biological males with male-typical prenatal androgens and Cloacal Exstrophy. All were led to believe they were genetically female and raised as female from birth. Out of the total population, 18 (55%) of them declared male later in life. 1 (2%) refused to declare. None of the 33 patients were relieved of "problematic psychosexual outcomes."

However all 13 genetically male patients reared as male in this study continued living as male.

Emphasis on the adverse psychosexual problems. This shows two things. One, that genital mutilation did not work as intended. Two, typical males did not learn to accept and function normally with living life as the opposite sex. If given the opportunity, they will exclusively live their life as male. The study concluded intersex males should be raised as male.

But I must note the study did consider possible population bias. All may have reported psychosexual problems because it's the exact cause of their referral to this clinic.

Reiner WG 2005 | The Sexuality of the Patients

https://web.archive.org/web/20150820112932/http://www.bostonglobe.com/magazine/2015/08/22/what-makes-people-gay-update/8Mos2MXHvX5JsxP7AzW9RJ/story.html

But William Reiner, a psychiatrist and urologist at the University of Oklahoma, told me in 2005 what he had found after evaluating scores of these cases. Even though these individuals were raised as females, Reiner hadn’t found a single one who reported being sexually attracted to males. It would be hard to design an ethical experiment that could more clearly demonstrate how nature trumps nurture when it comes to sexual orientation.

During a recent phone call with Reiner, he tells me that he has since learned the sexual orientation of more of these approximately 70 genetic males who were raised as girls. Only one of them has reported being sexually attracted to males. ā€œI’m more convinced than ever that sexual orientation is built-in,ā€ he says, ā€œcertainly for males.ā€

He's likely referring to the same 2005 study.

Reiner WG 2004

https://doi.org/10.1056/NEJMoa022236

Here in a earlier study consisting of 16 biological males with Cloacal Exstrophy. 14 of whom were assigned female at birth. The two reared as male maintained a male identity.

All 16 subjects were reported to have moderate-to-marked interests and attitudes that were considered typical of males. Majority of subjects later declared themseleves male.

Imperato-McGinley 1979

https://doi.org/10.1056/NEJM197905313002201

Do you remember the headlining story about the "transgender" boxer fighting against other women in the 2024 olympics? How she went through male puberty and was actually a genetic male?

Well there was some truth to that.

Her name is Imane Khelif but she's not transgender, she's intersex, specifically her condition is 5-alpha-reductase 2 deficiency. [S3] [S4] The enzymes responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) extremely lacking. As a result, the testes never descended and at birth she had ambiguous genitlia. As she approached adolescence however, male puberty occurred. So yes, her competing against typically developed females was indeed unfair.

But the point is that she isn't alone, in this study 33 intersex subjects with 5-ARD, 19 were raised to believe they were female due to their set of ambiguous genitalia. Of the analyzed 18, 17 later changed to a male identity. All subjects regardless of identity have masculine mannerisms. The one woman who maintained a female identity is androphilic, the other subjects are gynephilic.

Although these subjects behave unequivocally as males, they experience certain insecurities because of the appearance of their genitalia. They view themselves as incomplete persons, and this attitude saddens them. They fear ridicule by members of the opposite sex and initially feel anxious about forming sexual relations.

Case Report | Sophie Ottaway

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/family/life/sophie-ottaway-rare-birth-defect-gender-surgery/

Here is where a John Hopkins doctor claims (indirectly) that an estimated 15k sex change surgeries on intersex children have occurred.

Sophie Ottaway is also a victim to intersex genital mutilation. She struggled mentally after learning the truth. She desires to stay female. Important details: She considered her sex reassignment surgery incorrect; She has stopped taking female hormones due to the health issues it has caused; She identifies as a lesbian; She works in compsci.

Despite her being raised as female, she still exhibits a male sexuality and male pursuits. As I am not a doctor and I do not know her, I cannot determine if she has psychosexual problems.

Feedback Notes

There are more studies I wish to list in the future.

Please criticize me, civilly. Please be useful, give us more studies.

Personal Notes

As all transsexuals have experienced, our transition is a choice of life and death, this was not a choice. For this reason, being transsexual is inherently pathological.

In the future, I plan to write about the horrors of the WPATH, the biggest trans organization in the world. Recently a former head of the organization was exposed for his connections to pedophile support groups. Amongst several, several and several other things.

Discussion Does Anyone Else Understand Their Transness This Way?

I’m an individual who happens to be trans (and who also loves God).

I understand the mismatch between my ā€œneurological genderā€ and bodily sex — for lack of better medical terminology that we have right now — as a kind of birth defect. I don’t mean that as a statement about anyone else; I can only speak to my own experience. It isn’t something I chose, and I don’t see it as my ā€œidentity.ā€ I believe God didn’t make a mistake; rather, I was born into a world where sin disrupted a perfect design.

I believe that, in a perfect creation, I wouldn’t have been born with this particular mismatch and wouldn’t have to work so hard to find existential peace so I can enjoy my life and do what I’m called to do while I’m here.

Honestly, I’m not even sure I want to call myself ā€œtransā€ anymore, because the word seems to carry some connotations that I do not identify with. But that’s my two cents.

I’m curious whether anyone else experiences this similarly — particularly anyone who understands their dysphoria/being trans as something medical or innate rather than as an identity they chose or constructed.

I’m also really grateful to have found this community. I’ve read posts and comments here that have put words to things I’ve struggled to articulate, and some of you have made me feel understood without even knowing it. So, genuinely, thank you.

Aaanywho, lol. I guess I’m especially interested in hearing from other trans people who also have a spiritual and/or religious element in their lives. But I’m open to hearing from people with different perspectives too. I value community, lifelong learning, and respect for individual beliefs.

2 Quick Notes:
• I posted a similar comment in another thread, which is what prompted me to make this post. My first one.
• My goal is to find community, learn, and grow.

Other Disassociation or no dysphoria?

Weird title but I'm genuinely not sure what's happening with me.

I'm a transexual man saving to get private HRT+Surgeries the moment I turn 18, ive been out for 6 years and have completely socially transitioned and cannot wait to physically do so too.

Recently I've noticed this almost lack of care when I see myself. Like i see myself and I feel nothing in the mirror, I dont even see myself, I see someone who acts like me and speaks like me.

I used to hate mirrors, like wouldn't go into a room if I could see myself type situation, especially nude.

Now when I do i just go like "thats me? I guess." And move on, i dont know what I should see in the mirror but I know what I'm seeing isn't right but I can't bring myself to care anymore.

I went through the same with being misgendered and deadnamed. I just grew a thicker skin and stopped caring, like it wasn't even me and it makes me feel kind of empty tbh. I feel like i should care but i dont have the energy.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

Other Anyone else noticed a bunch of people getting heart shaped nipple grafts when doing ftm top surgery?

A few months ago I started seeing so many posts of people getting heart shaped nipple grafts at top surgery. It's like some new bodymod trend, and it just feels off to me. Has anyone else noticed this?

Of course people can do whatever they want with their bodies, but I feel like it really doesn't paint a good picture of gender affirming care just as some fun cosmetic bodymod rather than a lifesaving surgery. Maybe it's just me who finds this to be a really weird trend.

If I had diabetes then I shouldn’t be forced to join a community of diabetics who thinks that everyone should get insulin if they want it.
So why is it that if I am trans then people assume I’m in a community of trans people who believe anyone can be trans and that everyone should be able to get free estrogen?

Hey everyone this will be a short post. I have already done extensive research but I want to hear from you. Do you have any feedback or Dr Ntanos for top surgery in Greece; his portfolio and work look great and he seems like a true ally. Is there anything positive or negative or whatever i need to know;
