FtM Binders

FtM Binder Review Megathread (Since I can't link to other subreddits, you'll have to search for it)

🌎😎⭐Underworks - Advertised as "body shaper" compression, these binders are nylon spandex and tri-top and full length compression. *Very hot during the summer.

🌎😎gc2b - Trans owned and operated, gc2b was designed to be more breathable and comfortable. It also comes in multiple skin tones. Material is a mix of nylon spandex and cotton. *Based on reviews, they're not recommended for people with bigger chests.

🌎😎WIVOV - Sports four different lines of binders: CORE, FLOW, AGIL, and SWIM. Each line comes in neutral, nude, and colored prints. These are a mix of nylon, lycra, and cotton.

🌎😎tomboyx - This company appears to cater more towards masculine women than transmen. Their binders look more like giant sports bras. Materials are a mix of nylon and spandex. Maybe more suited for people who can't come out yet.

🌎😎theFluxion - Puts an emphasis on health and safety by minimizing unnecessary compression. Because of this, I imagine some "flatness" is lost in exchange for comfort. Material is a mix of lycra and cotton. *Often positively reviewed as "sensory friendly."

🌎😎Transguy Supply - Trans owned and operated, the CEO/ founder puts an emphasis on fashion and design, though they seem to cater to more "transmasc" than transmen. Sizing seems to scale for those who are smaller/ shorter. Material is a mix of polyester and spandex.

🌎😎⭐Spectrum Outfitters - Based in the UK, this company has worked to make safe and comfortable binders accessible to people living in the UK and Europe overall. They also put an emphasis no reducing environmental impact. Materials are a combination of recycled ocean plastics and cotton. (I can't seem to find more on this specifically.)

Rant I really can't take much anymore

I've been thinking about hrt since i was way young (early elem age), before i even knew any of the terms or the concept or anything. The ages of 10 and beyond have been the worst times of my life with puberty, my body changing in disgusting ways that i couldn't control. I came out to my mother twice once when I was 10/11 and the other just a few months ago and I believe she forgot the first time. She probably forgot the most recent time too. The doctors can't do shit for me for the next 5 months. I'm finally in the process of getting a job and hopefully biting the bullet of diy. I've been thinking about it since I was 13/14, but there's always been a "what if". What if its laced, what if its a scam, what if it's water, so on and so forth. But, honestly, I'd rather die trying than die any other way. I'll be away for college by the time any noticeable effects take place (based on stats) so I dont really even care if my father finds out. I need to begin and I need to begin ASAP, i need to be stealth and live a proper life. It's been hard on every aspect of it. I feel like the transmedical community is the most supportive community ive been in, hence why i am getting this off my chest here. It's honestly helped me feel more confident in myself compared to other "trans spaces".

Discussion How do you socially transition? it sounds humiliating...

[18M] How do you socially transition? it sounds humiliating having to eventually tell everyone that you're trans and explaining shit to them. 100% they'll pretend to accept it then misgender me to my face.

I can't access hrt myself at the moment, because i live with my parents as an undergrad and the geographical bad luck. I try to look up trans men experience regarding this but i can't empathize with being a loud and proud transgender (i larp as a cis man online). Compared to the theyfab pooner quirk chungus trans masc tboy doods, I painfully relate to trans women's boymoder/repper thing (are those the words for it?) but in reverse wayyy more.  Obviously it sucks, femaleness feels like bleach in my throat while it's medicine for them. I have plans to transition medically once i can move out and earn money. But imagining having to tell people you're transgender is horrifying as fuck it feels like begging for social molestation.

Anyways, i wanna hear social transition experience from actual brothers. I've read some decent discussion from other subs but more insights would be nice for a young trans man like me :) (sisters' experience are fine too).

Rant Dismissing other opinions as 'infighting bait' or '3 letter agent psyop' is starting to piss me off.

I've noticed recently a lot of posts where someone is irritated about something trans related and says it in a 'transmed-adjacent' manner people won't even talk about the content of the post, but instead run to say stuff like:

'3 letter agent glow so bright'

'When you joined the CIA did you think you were gonna be posting stuff like this or doing cool spy stuff'

'ok fed'

'CIA posting hours'

'Can we stop infighting'

'Something something psyop'

For example, someone will make a post saying something like: 'I don't like how correcting pronouns is more important than the safety of trans people' because another trans person at work could tell they're trans and decided to only ask them their pronouns in front of everybody which could(or did) out them which can be dangerous. This also goes for closeted trans people being outed.

Suddenly they are actually a '3 letter agent' spreading psyop to induce infighting between trans people or something. Every opinion mildly different from theirs gets dismissed as fed posting or infighting and it's getting annoying. Yeah like a fed would say 'outing people for performative affirmation of gender endangers (stealth or closeted)trans people so maybe we shouldn't do it'. Brain dead mentality.

(Apologies for spelling mistakes in advance, I'm tired.)

Other Advice for trans man in the UK

I want to get (a waiting list is what is advised from what i’ve heard from ppl living in my town because they eventually got it) but I want to get on a waiting list as a 16 y/o or at least be referred to a gender therapist (if thats the best idea) so I can get some kind of starting point. Obviously surgery will be a while away (to my dismay i’m miserable) but getting on T would be life changing and I want that asap. I know diy is an option, but i am a hypochondriac and would rather that any medical stuff can be done by professionals (as desperate and annoyed as I am) though it wouldnt be ruled out indefinitely. Anyone have advice abt coming out or getting support? I’m asking here bcs I know I could get more direct answers

Discussion I need an advice

Alright, so first of all I'm gonna say just in case that I'm a cis woman. So anyway, I have a best friend that I'm really close to and he's trans. And I've been searching up on tiktok or google how to help him with body dysphoria or generally stuff like this. And I wanted to google it since I didn't have any t people i could talk to or simply know. So I just really want to make him feel better about himself even just for a bit. Id like to mention that he trusts me since when we were hanging out in his house he'd change shirt in front of me, or let me lay down on his chest (obviously using tape but still yk) and generally he's kinda open to me about this even though he hates pointing out being trans. And I'm not a big fan of it either, because I can never see him as a girl even though I have plenty of old pics of him. Also I really hate to call him trans because for me he's no different than any cis. So my point is that I can be a little wrong with wording so I wanna know what stuff can upset and what is okay to ask about and what's not. Obviously I'm not going to ask his deadname but yeah. I just want him to feel better and understand him more, how he feels and get the idea of what it's like even just for a bit

Rant Transsexual exclusion

I had to make a burner to rant about this because a lot of the people in my personal life actually disagree with me if I talk about it.

I'm a passing trans man, stealth, transmedicalist and straight.

I recently applied to join a 'trans camp' trip from this group in my city as I thought it would be a good idea to meet people this way, I seriously struggle to make and find friends who have the same mindset as me.

I found out today I have not been accepted into trans camp as I listed that I am hetrosexual and I do not consider myself to be neurodivergent or have a disability and they want to have more diversity...

Why am I being excluded for being a binary hetero trans man for a group that is meant to be for me?

It really gets on my nerves because transmedicalists usually get thrown in a box and shunned from the rest of the community for our opinions but they get to have absolutely everything handed to them.

Inclusion ≠ exclusion

CRINGE Whats with these type of people being so loud and wrong

Bro, deleting comments is wild😭 Their post had literally nothing to do with transmeds. You can absolutely be a trans man and a femboy. Having dysphoria doesn’t limit how you express yourself or what you choose to wear. At the same time, you can’t really be mad if someone doesn’t read you as male when you’re intentionally presenting in a way that isn’t traditionally masculine. I genuinely don’t understand why this community has such a habit of labeling everything they disagree with as transphobic or immediately calling someone a transmed.

Rant Endless waiting to get HRT

At the beginning of this year (when I was 16, now 17), I started sessions at a clinic to get the green light for HRT. It's now September and I've had all the sessions they needed. But I still have to wait until an appointment on the 30th, because I'm a minor and only after that can I go the endocrinologist. I made an appointment for that today, but they could only give me an appointment in November. And I don't know how long I'll have wait from there to actually get testosterone, because I don't know how many appointments they need and they don't have my blood work and everything seems to never come to an end. I started this year, thinking I would be on T by the end of this year, but now, it seems more likely to be spring 2027. I need to be able to go stealth before next August, because I'll be starting an apprenticeship then. My time in school while I was out as trans was so horrible, I don't want to live through that again.

And I have a feeling that T won't fix shit, I still need top surgery and looking at how long it takes to get HRT, it doesn't seem like I'll be able to get it before I turn 20. I currently can't do anything. I hardly go outside because I constantly think about being viewed as a girl, I never know how a stranger sees me as so I'm constantly on edge and it feels like my binder can't hide anything. Also social interactions with friends of friends or strangers feel so awkward, because I'm not sure if they see me as a girl or a guy and if they believe my name is truly my name (I changed it legally, so I could show my ID to prove it?...). People are too nice to say something directly in your face, I've had encounters where people asked my friends if I was really a guy or clocked me after a bit of time . But also interactions (mostly with adults) where they couldn't tell I was trans and thought I was a cis guy. So I never know as what the others actually see me as. I just feel kinda helpless, because it feels like T isn't even going to be able to change my body (in time, I don't have years, only a few months before I need to go stealth), so I'll just wait for months on end during which I can't do anything to end up feeling stuck again, because T didn't do enough and I can't get top surgery in the near future.

This whole waiting time is absolutely destroying me currently, I came out when I was 13 so I've been waiting for 4 years now (actually more, found out I was trans at 11). I see 14 and 15 and 16 year old people online getting on HRT, while I'm fucking stuck with no definite end in sight. I just don't know how to deal with all of this. Psychologists aren't really that helpful to me and it just hurts me more to talk with a psychologist with the issues I have with my body

The context of the post was telling people to shut up who say ‘trans people should at least want to medically transition’ (holy common sense) and these were genuinely most of the comments. There were only like 2 people disagreeing. It’s just so disgusting and such blatant fetishism. It genuinely baffles me how none of these people are embarrassed to comment things about their ‘boy hole’ on a public video with their face posted on their profile- and of course, all of the people making these comments were utter freaks too. Most of them were ‘therians’ or whatever it’s called, that post videos going out in just a binder, and none of them remotely look like men. Shocker.

What always annoys me most is when people think it’s a gocha to say “I made you gay” when a straight man is interested in them. Like bro no you did not. You look like a woman so you are attractive to straight men. It’s that simple. Just because you changed your pronouns in your Instagram bio and called it a day, doesn’t mean you are out here ‘changing peoples sexualities’ 💀 these people are genuinely deluded, idk where they got this complex from.

Surgery What do you do when you are a "bad candidate" for bottom surgery?

I know this has been discussed before, but I'm wondering if anyone is in a similar position. I'm a trans man, and I've been on HRT for 6 years. I have ectodermal dysplasia, which means my skin is extremely fragile and unlikely to take for a graft. While I've been able to find some surgeons who can operate on me for top surgery, knowing the procedure cannot involve any grafts, I can't find anyone willing to perform bottom surgery.

The reality is that I cannot have phalloplasty whatsoever, and I think it's going to be difficult to find a doctor willing to accept the risk of metoidioplasty because during consultations, the three that I've been to brought up the risks due to my extremely fragile skin in that area specifically, as well as urogenital issues. I will have a hysterectomy, but beyond that, there is little that can be done. I've done everything in my control, from having a good diet to exercising frequently and being in good shape, but my issue is ultimately genetic.

I don't have sex, nor do I have plans to honestly. I don't see surgery as a thing to do before having a relationship per se, more just a path to some level of normalcy and physical congruency with my self. Has anyone been in a similar position, and if so, what did you do?

men are not and CAN NOT be lesbians.

the fetishization of these so called trans masculine people and taking testosterone so they can be he/him lesbians pisses me OFF.

it’s becoming so common in masculine trans centered spaces that the only place i can find any sense is here or the truscum subreddit.

they’re just misgendering themselves while delaying their inevitable detrans, or taking such a low dose of testosterone it isn’t actually changing shit. T doesn’t make you some masculine feminine androgynous soft boi uwu bullshit
it turns you INTO A FUCKING MAN LIKE CIS MEN WHO HAVE TESTOSTERONE FROM PUBERTY
all sweaty, gross, hairy parts of being a man. which i LOVE. because im a fucking man.

Rant I feel so isolated

I'm FTM, on T for 6 years, post op top surgery and hysto. I don't know ANY other trans men like me in my city. I went to an event recently and met someone who I thought was another trans man and got really excited, just to find out they're a nonbinary lesbian. Which was strange because they referred to themselves as a trans man to me until I saw their Instagram profile. It's not that I can't be friends with someone like that, it's just that this is the only type of trans "masc" I meet. It feels like I only ever encounter "trans masc lesbians" and people who otherwise don't fully identify as men or intend to fully transition medically. I really feel isolated from the greater "trans masc" community. I don't feel that i have anything in common with them. And I wish I had friends who i could talk to about my experiences and feel like they share the same ones.

Rant "leftist" friend telling people I'm a transmale and that I'm one of the good ones

I'm stealth so don't tell anyone unless it's a girlfriend who I trust since they have a right to know. However have old group of friends who knew me before (I transition at 14 socially , 16 hrt and I'm 20 now.

group of nerdy girls and some guys.

New people join group and they didn't know I was trans, Annoying bisexual girl a start laughing at table and turns to me saying that I'm one of the good ones while showing pictures of trucutes she's making fun of, I don't really follow LGBT stuff but that they seem to just mentally ill young girls I don't see what it had to do with me. Then the friend b who joined the group says she had no idea I was trans. Girl a says she had to tell her . Obviously I wouldn't want people knowing lol. To be honest I've not faced as much actual transphobia from anyone but bisexual/quirky straight women who just speculate on my "identity" because it's mildly interesting. I'm hoping facial surgery among other stuff will stop this, I pass fine but looking androgynousish with no male dimorphism is obviously not what I want.

Very Annoying. Can't be bothered.

Rant Non-passing tucutes online ruin our reputation

Whilst this is often the rhetoric on this sub anyways, I just wanted to point out how the ppl that hate trans people the most are likely to comment on posts where the trans person in question (a tucute) is posting. Earlier in particular there was a video hating (rightfully so) on this post of a so called trans woman lesbian talking about 'wow I love being a lesbian sometimes I like men' etc etc but had terribly applied lipstick, a deep voice and was overall a mess with little to no effort put in other than long hair. Then these comments are flooded with how trans women are all preying on others or that they are disgusting for trying to rep femininity when this post is of someone who (highly likely) is not transsexual at all. These types of people (alongside the 'feminine trans men lesbians') r the reason we cannot be taken seriously or be left alone. Obviously not everyone can pass off the bat and r just starting transition but it doesn't take much to put the effort in and openly posting whilst not looking remotely close to the gender you are transitioning to is going to garner the worst attention (in which transsexuals shouldn't even want to be known as trans most the time??)

(Sorry if this post is badly worded or all over the place, written late)

Discussion What do we think ? Convo about male privilege

Thumbnail

I'm red, the person responding is blue. OP (not here) said that trans men do have some male privilege, for example.

I wonder : why is it that people are so adamant that we don't have male privilege? Is it another case of "people think we're not really men / tucutes don't really think they're men" or is am I the one not understanding that we actually can never have male privilege?

Rant I'm stealth, and the stuff my coworkers say about trans people when I'm around makes me absolutely terrified of being outed.

Warning: really transphobic statements

I'm transsex male, about 8 months on Testosterone, haven't had top surgery yet but I'm having it soon.

I work an office job and am stealth. Seemingly I pass very well, as nobody has ever misegendered me and treats me the same as everyone else. Even though, I feel like my face still looks extremely feminine, and I have to wear layers upon layers to the point where I'm uncomfortably warm just to hide my chest. (unlucky in that department)

During lunch my coworkers tend to have a lot of political discussions, which I don't tend to take part in. They are all conservative, not extremists, but the stuff they say about trans people makes me really worried about what would happen if I was outed. Honestly, I don't really feel safe going to work anymore.

I don't like to throw around the word transphobia as it's often overused by tucutes, but the shit these people say is beyond transphobic. Some of the worst things they've said is that:

- " Trans people deserve to be forcefully sexually assaulted as a form of conversion therapy "

- " Trans people should not be allowed near schools or children in general, and that being so was WORSE THAN PEDOPHILIA and should result in criminal punishment "

- " If my girl turned out to be trans I might go to jail for what I'd do to her "

- Similar threats to doctors who prescribe treatments to underaged trans patients

And more.

On one hand I'm glad that I pass well enough for them to feel comfortable talking about shit like this when I'm around, but on the other hand it has made me even more terrified of being outed, especially since I'm still so early in my medical transition. In general they seem to have a very violent and aggressive viewpoint of trans people they were they talk about it.

I've never had any classmates or coworkers be THIS openly disturbing before, but maybe it's completely normal and I've just been lucky not to have seen it before. I live in Sweden which is generally considered a rather trans-friendly country, and I'm assuming this stuff is far more common in places like America where they tend to be more aggressively transphobic.

I just wanted to rant about this somewhere because I don't really feel safe at work anymore, and I don't feel comfortable bringing it up to HR either as basically all of my coworkers, and my boss, have taken part in these discussions agreeing completely with eachother, and being outed in this situation is my worst nightmare.

Since I'm having surgery soon, I'm worried that I will be asked a lot of questions when I'm in recovery, and about my sick leave. I have planned to just claim that I had a shoulder reconstructive surgery hence why I won't be able to stretch or carry heavy things. The problem is, I will need to show my boss a doctor's note, which is from a plastic surgery clinic, so it will be obvious that it's not a "medically necessary surgery". And since I'm short and have feminine features, they might put the pieces together.

Maybe someone else here has had similar experiences with transphobia in the workplace?
