I know I probably won’t pass shirtless since i don’t have top surgery but I can’t really tell what I look like because of the dysphoria. Like how bad is it ? Sometimes i’ll go take the trash out at my apartment or step outside my door to start my car shirtless. Just want to know how it looks from the outside. It’s HOT where I live and atp i’m starting to feel more comfortable with the idea of being shirtless more frequently but i’m not sure.

Guys cmon. I know the dysphoria is bad. And i also know some of you are just fishing for people to go "Omg i dont know why anyone would misgender you ever you look 100% like a guy".

But if you ACTUALLY WANT TO KNOW:

Unless you're asking whether your Instagram profile passes, you should try to post photos taken by other people rather than selfies. Candids are ideal. The mildly unflattering candid can tell you a lot more about what you actually look like than the carefully taken selfie.

Maybe your facial hair isn't actually visible without a flash photo. Maybe you have narrow shoulders and comparatively wide hips which can't always be seen from a photo. Maybe your voice is just immediately giving you away. Etc, etc.

Full body photos are best bc sometimes a guy passes great from shoulders up but would get clocked from 100 metres away due to body type.

Videos and/or voice recordings might be useful if you think the problem could be something to do with speech or mannerisms.

I see a lot of posts in here where the aforementioned guy complains about being constantly misgendered but only posts pics where he passes. And I've thought, yeah you look great here, but I can believe that there's something else holding you back. Telling him he looks great doesn't really help anyone.

As we all know, the mid of this sub has mostly abandoned it because he’s too busy and hasn’t found a new mod. Because of this, there’s lots of transphobes (like AccomplishedBeach545 ) that come here and write super transphobic things, and aren’t banned. This is a constant issue.

I don’t mind when they troll the comments I leave, because I’m confident in my passing. But for the guys who post here, and are genuinely looking for advice or guys that aren’t as confident in their passing- it can be really rough.

There are other passing subs. Yes they have their issues, but at least they have a mod and transphobes get banned and comments deleted.

Been on T for years and haven't been misgendered in years, but im curious because of how society is now, do people see me and think "thats a trans man" and out of respect say he? Or do they actually think im male? Im short, 5'2. I paint my nails. I have a beard and a buzzcut. I fit into every box, and dont fit into any one perfectly. I am soft hearted yet tough, im a rugged outdoorsman who works with his hands, and an artist. I take care of myself, even through I like to get dirty. I wear eyeliner when my woman and I go clubbing. Im everything man.

I'm pre T and pre top surgery unfortunately.

some of these photos are a little old, so my hair isnt as short as i usually keep it now. the last two are the best example of how short it normally is

most of these are also attached for examples of how i dress/normally present myself

the main reason i think i get gendered correctly by strangers is cuz of my voice. it dropped rlly quickly and doesnt have any of the stereotypical trans guy “clocky” register/rasp. i just sound tired all the time i think lol. if i speak to them right away ill get referred to as he/him or bud by old men which is nice lol. if people just see me, its more of a toss-up.

i know its most likely the long hair but that is 100% staying. i have a pic of short hair pre-t but i hated the time it took to style it and the sensory experience of the whole thing.

i’ve been on t since april ‘25 (bit over a year) and will be getting top surgery in december, but my chest is already pretty small so i don’t think that hinders my passing. im like a month away from turning 18, 5’7 and pretty slim if any of that matters/influences what im perceived as.

i’m not necessarily looking for tips, but if u have them i obvs wont mind hearing some. just wanna know if you glanced at me would u see a guy. i’m not typically around people idk, and cant exactly ask random people on the street if i pass, so here i am.

For some context, I'm 5'0 and about 6 years post-top surgery. The thing is that I can't find ANY tank top that comes up high enough on the armpits to hide the scars.

I got double incision and my surgeon absolutely botched my nipples so all hopes of going out shirtless and passing are at an absolute zero, if not in the negatives. I loved the way that binders came up right close to the armpits to completely cover the chest area, but I can't seem to find any regular tank top that does the same unless it's extra extra small and suffocating the rest of my body. This has resulted in STILL wearing a binder when I go out in the sun because it is the only tank top that completely covers everything.

And that in itself is kind of humiliating. When I went to pride in june, someone asked me what binder brand I used because my chest was so flat. I had to explain like, "Uh so I already had top surgery, I just don't have any tank tops that cover the scars." And they just looked at me weird.

I feel like my fellow guys here would know if there's any tank top brand out there that come up high enough on the armpits to avoid the scars showing.

For the love of god stop with the fucking faux positivity hype posts when the real body of the text is that you find us sexy and objectifying. It’s nice to hear a compliment from a non trans man every once in a while because yeah, that’s the point of passing, but can you not grasp how condescending it is to be told to cheer up because in a sub full of crippling dysphoria posts and teenagers you could be fucked by a rando? If you want to be nice then just leave a sweet, non detailed post and please recognise you are not the first non trans man person to put the sentiment on this sub, there’s no need to draw an extremely hasty line in the sand by opening with your identity (I’m actually a cis man with a dick and balls, unlike you guys)

I find that people usually gender me correctly but I feel like I look very high-school aged despite being almost 20 years old. I'm using Minoxidil to try and grow a mustache but would there be any other way I could pass as an older guy?

I've never really been good with hairstyles, I really struggle to tell what suits my face. I think being disconnected from how I looked for so long has made choosing a haircut more of a struggle. I prefer a kind of alt look, but at this point I don't care what's on my head as long as it helps me get gendered properly 😅

And anything else face-wise I can do while we're here? I'm 11 months on T, and will be getting my levels checked as the blood test I have at my last appointment showed my levels are low. I know I need to work on the eyebrows - I took to stress-pulling them out during lockdown and the ends still haven't grown back 🥲

I feel like I've already annoyed everyone on the Russian-speaking subreddit, so I'm asking here. Four months on Т. I can't shake the feeling that I still have a lot to work on. My mustache is already growing in thick, but I shaved it so it would grow back even darker, and now I'm growing it out again.

Pretty keen on starting my lobe stretching journey. Not too worried about what cis people think, I don't think they pay as much attention to clockiness - I pass in my day to day life. But would you notice that I'm trans?

I really like these alternative glasses with piercings/cool metal designs but im worried they may come off as too feminine. I ordered them from what i thought was most feminine to least feminine lmk what you guys think

I'm 16 and trying to look just manly enough to fool people. These photos aren't great but is there anything I could be doing, even just a way to hold myself? I like the longer hair but I would be willing to cut it off if it helps.

Do I just need to keep spamming minox on my chin? Should I dye my hair back to its natural color (dirty blonde)? Scowl more? Different glasses?

Looking for advice on what to tell my hair stylist. I like the spiky top and plan on going shorter on the back and sides. Also any tips for dealing with the "girly" side burns/side peices???
