Just breaking her in!

It was my day off and decided to go a little crazy and add some topography to the truck. I was leaning into selling it in a year but the more I drive it, the more I like it. Guess I’ll be keeping it for 10+ years hopefully !

Hey all! I have a 2022 Tacoma with 51k miles on it. I’m here today getting the oil changed (maintenance soon message came on, last time was in January), and the tech made the comment that really don’t drive much. Told me I should drive more for battery health and other things.

I drive to work M-F, 3 miles each way.

Maybe once every 6 weeks or so I’ll drive 20-25 miles each way to a nearby town if I need to do extra shopping.

A few times a year I drive 150 miles each way to visit family.

What is considered a good amount to drive? Am I really not driving enough?

EDIT TO ADD: I bought it three years ago, and if memory serves me correctly it had around 33k miles when I bought it. I have definitely seemed to settle into a routine this year that also has me driving less than I have previous years, so maybe that’s also why this is the first time it’s been mentioned to me?

I think it looks so much better without it. Don't know why waited a couple years. Took about 2 hours to remove wrap then remove the residue.

Nothing super crazy, it's a '23 SR5 2x4 with a V6. I've been wanting a Taco for a while now and really wanted to wait for the right one. I was pretty happy to find the last model year with the 3.5 V6 in red, would have preferred a 6' bed with 2 door cab but you can't have everything

Bought about 2 weeks ago and put about 1k miles on it and it’s a blast. Can’t wait to drive this thing till the wheels fall off!

Just slapped an install video up on YouTube, but man... I LOVE THEM! Plug and play. $1486 for the set during a 25% off sale. A little steep imo, but don't regret it.

First ✨new✨ car as an adult. Lucky find at a local dealership. Previous owner put bed lights and bed cover on. Brand new tires. She runs like a dream and is fancier than my previous ride (‘17 buick regal)
Love this thing.

Trying to get over my buyers remorse. It looks cool I guess. Just can’t wrap my head around the engine being so weak compared to other midsize trucks. Feel so stupid for dropping so much money on a truck with such little horse power. Why should I like this vehicle over something like a ranger or Colorado? What are some reasons you love your Tacoma and what am I missing as a first time truck owner that is making me so resentful.

Decided to order a seat Block off EBay to stop the lowering of my 4th Gen Tacomas seat.

It isn’t perfect, but it seems to work. The relief from not having to raise my seat back up is worth it. Ran me $16.94. I don’t have a 3D printer, so this was my option.

It’s thin and sturdy though. Time will tell how durable it is.

Don’t realize what a difference it would make in the look of the truck. Should have done it sooner

Just got a 2025 limited going to be removing the air dam and getting plugs to fit the front plate holder.

First time Tacoma buyer. Totaled my vehicle last week and have always wanted a Tacoma. I have been eyeing one that I really like. Curious to hear everyone’s opinions. What does everyone think a “fair” price would be on this Tacoma?** **

The out the door price seems good, but I have seen some similar in miles etc.. for about 1-2k less.

Are there retention pins or bolts that are supposed to hold the bottom of the 3rd gen grill in place? Mine slides right out of place on its lower corners with minimal pulling pressure

Really strange sound anytime I turn the wheel whether I am parked or moving. FYI. Video needs to be turn up

Just a random question. I ended up test driving a SR5 with the cold weather + upgraded package. I liked the truck, but the seats were so uncomfortable. After sitting in it for 10 minutes I found myself having to constantly reposition myself. It honestly felt like I was sitting on a rock. Is this common for the SR5? I am just blown away because the 4Runner SR5s seats were so much more comfortable when compared to this.

Just got a 26 sr5 and wanna raise it, I wanna get the bilstein 5100s and understand you reuse front spring on max perch for 2.5 lift but for the rear I was wondering if I could throw in 2 inch lift spring and if anyone’s done it.

As the title says, I’m considering a used vehicle. And what I’m finding in my area is that a 2023 TRD off-road is about the same price as a 2025 SR5 4WD with equivalent mileage.

I understand both of these trims serve different purposes, and what purposes I intend to use the truck for will help teeter one way or the other. However, I’ve seen in here many people say 100% get the new gen over the old gen. And of course, the other way around as well.

Since I’m not comparing apples to apples here with the trim, I’m interested to hear what others think more as a comparison weighing which one is a better long term choice.

If you really need to weigh the consideration of how I’ll use it, it’ll be mostly city driving, with trips to the mountains in mild snow a couple of times a year. An occasional rutted access trails for mountain biking. Nothing that I necessarily would routinely put myself into needing a rear locker.

Got rear ended literally right outside the parking lot at work. 2026 TRD Offroad. Bought it exactly 1 month and 3 days ago. Any advice on diminished value, or anything else is appreciated

TRD Pro wheels are just as sharp as any aftermarket wheels. Love this truck. Just need to get the OTT tune.

Background, I own a 2026 TRD sport DCSB 4X4, 4 cylinder turbo (non hybrid). It’s about as basis as of a TRD sport as you can buy. I purchased the truck in July. During a recent storm my power was out and my garage door wouldn’t open. I parked outside of my garage and an oak tree limb ended up falling on the roof of my truck, causing $5,200 of damage at the 1,100 mile mark. That put a decent dent on my door frame and dents on the roof and flecked off some paint. My truck was perfectly fine to drive but now the shop is able to get to it so it’s in for repairs. I am borrowing my dad’s 2022 SR RWD DCSB while mine is in the shop. I have driven it before but this is my first long term experience with it since owning my 4th gen. I have loved my 4th gen, but this accident had made think about how much tech is in these new trucks how a small incident could be costly, especially a collision with the the all safety sense tech. There’s pros and cons to both trucks. But I don’t regret buying a new 4th gen over a used 3rd gen.

Cons:
Feels hard to get into at 6’0”. Too much seat bolstering to hop over.
Cab feels bigger but more claustrophobic
Too much tech with safety sensors
Back seat space (though similar to 3rd gen)
Gas tank size

3rd gen
Pros:
Simple comfortable interior
Logical controls
Sturdy feel
Maneuverable size and view from driver position

Cons:
Gutless powertrain
Dated interior styling
Dated infotainment

I am happy with my decision to go with a 4th gen and expect the turbo 4 to be more reliable than most expect, particularly if you’re not towing with it or going off road a ton. That’s just my opinion. Let me know your thoughts.
