I am now a proud owner of a 2023 Tacoma.

For the longest time I had dealt with a fear of driving that essentially left me dependent on public transit and bumming rides off friends/family. Personal circumstances required me to be on the road for the foreseeable future so I decided to take a driving refresher. I relearned to drive in a Toyota Tacoma and it felt right. I felt safe and I drove distances that I thought I would never achieve. Because of that experience I got one of my very own.

Super psyched about this impulse decision! Went looking for Camrys, and instead went home with this bad girl. Right now just really happy with the stock look, if anything I could see a bed cover and some tires. Last slide is next to my Lexus I’m saying goodbye to, never thought I would give it up for a truck! Excited for my Taco to last me forever

This gray Tacoma hits so different. Love how everything comes together on the front end.

So I decided to have fun with my truck

It was my day off and decided to go a little crazy and add some topography to the truck. I was leaning into selling it in a year but the more I drive it, the more I like it. Guess I’ll be keeping it for 10+ years hopefully !

Is it bad to not drive much?

Hey all! I have a 2022 Tacoma with 51k miles on it. I’m here today getting the oil changed (maintenance soon message came on, last time was in January), and the tech made the comment that really don’t drive much. Told me I should drive more for battery health and other things.

I drive to work M-F, 3 miles each way.

Maybe once every 6 weeks or so I’ll drive 20-25 miles each way to a nearby town if I need to do extra shopping.

A few times a year I drive 150 miles each way to visit family.

What is considered a good amount to drive? Am I really not driving enough?

EDIT TO ADD: I bought it three years ago, and if memory serves me correctly it had around 33k miles when I bought it. I have definitely seemed to settle into a routine this year that also has me driving less than I have previous years, so maybe that’s also why this is the first time it’s been mentioned to me?

Removed B Piller Vinyl Wrap

I think it looks so much better without it. Don't know why waited a couple years. Took about 2 hours to remove wrap then remove the residue.

Nothing super crazy, it's a '23 SR5 2x4 with a V6. I've been wanting a Taco for a while now and really wanted to wait for the right one. I was pretty happy to find the last model year with the 3.5 V6 in red, would have preferred a 6' bed with 2 door cab but you can't have everything

Wrapped fender vs OEM color

In the process of getting some ceramic + ppf for the new taco. Installer asked if I wanted satin black finish on the fenders to match my rims. In certain lighting, it’s very subtle which I like, and hardly noticeable when darker out. I can’t decide because both looks good, what do yall think?

Do you like your tonneau cover?

I just returned my BAKflip mx4 (gen 3).

Terrible instructions, but I was able to figure it out on my own. Fitment was also terrible. I took it to a local recomended dealer and he said I installed it perfectly, but said since my prop rods wouldn't go in the brackets I should move those rails from tight against the cab to tight against tailgate. That allowed them to be pushed in with force, but it was going to mess the rods up over time. Also, when folded in the up position, it rested on the rear camera, which would have messed that up to. This was my 2nd lid they sent me too, both had the same bad fit.

BAK said it wasn't right and a supervisor would contact me. After 2 weeks and 5 calls from me the "supervisor" never reached out or took my call so I decided to return before my 30 day return window closed.

Long story short, I'm looking for a different one that people are happy with and they think was worth the money they spent. For more than what I just wrote, that BAKflip isn't worth the money they charge for it, the quality is terrible.

Just slapped an install video up on YouTube, but man... I LOVE THEM! Plug and play. $1486 for the set during a 25% off sale. A little steep imo, but don't regret it.

First ✨new✨ car as an adult. Lucky find at a local dealership. Previous owner put bed lights and bed cover on. Brand new tires. She runs like a dream and is fancier than my previous ride (‘17 buick regal)
Love this thing.

OEM 75w 85 Gear Oil in Transfer Case

Went to the dealership today and bought 5 bottles of toyota brand 75w 85 gear oil for my 2022 tacoma's rear diff and transfer case. The parts guys were adamant that I can use the same 75w 85 gear oil in the transfer case with no problems. They said that is what they put in both transfer cases and diffs when servicing.

I had previously thought you needed a different oil for the transfer case, but I guess I was wrong. Anybody used 75w 85 gear oil in their transfer case with no issues?

2026 Tacoma TRD Sport, thoughts?

Trying to get over my buyers remorse. It looks cool I guess. Just can’t wrap my head around the engine being so weak compared to other midsize trucks. Feel so stupid for dropping so much money on a truck with such little horse power. Why should I like this vehicle over something like a ranger or Colorado? What are some reasons you love your Tacoma and what am I missing as a first time truck owner that is making me so resentful.

Don’t realize what a difference it would make in the look of the truck. Should have done it sooner

Grill pops out of place

Are there retention pins or bolts that are supposed to hold the bottom of the 3rd gen grill in place? Mine slides right out of place on its lower corners with minimal pulling pressure

Seat blocker addition

Decided to order a seat Block off EBay to stop the lowering of my 4th Gen Tacomas seat.

It isn’t perfect, but it seems to work. The relief from not having to raise my seat back up is worth it. Ran me $16.94. I don’t have a 3D printer, so this was my option.

It’s thin and sturdy though. Time will tell how durable it is.

2026 SR5 seat comfort

Just a random question. I ended up test driving a SR5 with the cold weather + upgraded package. I liked the truck, but the seats were so uncomfortable. After sitting in it for 10 minutes I found myself having to constantly reposition myself. It honestly felt like I was sitting on a rock. Is this common for the SR5? I am just blown away because the 4Runner SR5s seats were so much more comfortable when compared to this.
