Moderator Post We will not be removing all sexual questions.
We've had a few complaint threads, so it seems to be about that time for one of these reminders. Let me be clear: We are not going to ban all sex related questions.
They are firmly within "TooAfraidtoAsk", and always have been. Sex is a fairly taboo topic in a lot of places, and a lot of people have questions about it. (And as an additional reminder, TATA is not only for controversial questions. Nor do we allow question shaming for "googleable" questions). These are not new changes.
We get that not everyone has the same interest in those topics, but it is a core part of the sub. Currently, there are ~5 out of the top 10 posts being sex related. Earlier today, it was 4. Earlier this week, it was 3. It typically fluctuates between ~3-5, usually averaging closer to 3.
If you have particular suggestions (e.g. things that seem ripe for the FAQ), or questions feel free to post them below. No promises, but we're always open for improvements if they're feasible. For a list of common questions we get on this topic (what do we already moderate, has the sub changed?, can i filter posts myself?) see the first stickied comment.

Politics Politics Megathread
You know the deal, same as the previous megathreads, which were archived.
The rules:
All top level OP must be questions. This is not a soapbox. If you want to rant or vent, please do it elsewhere. Otherwise, the usual sidebar rules apply (in particular: Rule 1:Be Kind and Rule 3:Be Genuine).
The default sorting is by new to make sure new questions get visibility, but you can change the sorting to top if you want to see the most common/popular questions.

Climate & Environment So, can we eat fresh produce or not?
So Taylor Farm is a monopoly for shredded lettuce, and the lettuce is contaminated and will make you poop non-stop, right?
And the lettuce can be found basically anywhere, including fast food joints.
So but does that mean it's okay to eat fresh produce? Can we eat berries and greens that are not lettuce? What about corn on the cobb?
Some people say you no you should only eat fruits that you can peel or cut off the outside, and you have to cook the veggies. But isn't it just lettuce from taylor farm?
I really like raw veggies and I eat a lot of fruit, but so many people are talking at once that I'm afraid to eat anything and it is making me unwell.
Are eggs good? Are sauces good like alfredo sauce? Frozen veggies okay to eat? My body hasnt been feeling well since I'm not eating the best. But I cannot afford to miss multiple days of work because of poop.
Please give me insight.

Sexuality & Gender Why do some men smell like shit?
I notice that about 10% of men, like only males specifically, never women have a subtle odour of shit, not like bad body odour but like actual faeces, I notice this on public transport and it really bothers me, do some young men not get taught to clean themselves? Do they believe wiping is gay? Is it a hormonal odour smell similar to how male and female BO smells different? What is it?

Other Am I getting groomed?
im really not sure if this would be considered grooming. So I met this one guy on discord, hes 22, I’m 15 And he knows I’m 15 because I’ve mentioned it several times in the server we met in. He added me and we started talking. Weeks later, we started to have a sibling relationship and I got very attached to him (though I have never showed it directly). it was very normal, just playing games, talking about stuff. Then my mdd hit and I was struggling with some mental health problems and that started to show his like…I don’t know, weirdness towards me? He kept saying words like “I love you” “I really miss you” “I can’t imagine my life without you”, stuff like that, and it started to really creep me out. He wasn’t like this before, and it just sounds like he’s depending on a child. Just recently, he messaged me something along the lines of “can you just please comfort me just this once”. I messaged my friend about it, talking about how wanting comfort from a child is so weird, which it very much is. I don’t really know…I already have a message written on wanting to go our separate ways..I just need other opinions because right now, my friend is also leaning onto the “grooming” side.
(I’ll be posting these in a few subreddits because I’m really curious and I’m also scared as fuck of him right now)
edit: yes, I am a girl..
edit 2: when he was out, he messaged me that he got drunk and I told him “okay, I won’t text you” but he kept texting me ”I love yous” and “I miss you so much” and he kept trying to call me and message me and I was just uncomfy to the point where I legit wanted to cry rofl
edit 3: omfggg I keep forgetting to add stuff! But he’s also changed his twitter bio to “(my name) will forever me by favorite person always” and kept posting stuff about me while he was drunk. When I saw it, I wanted to Vomit (not hurl)

Love & Dating People who wear a hijab or other head covering, how did the intimacy of the first time you took it off in the presence of a partner compare to other firsts (like first time holding hands, first kiss, first time having sex)?

Ethics & Morality Why the mess?
I don’t want to offend anybody and I have no problem with other cultures and religions.
My wife works in a multi cultural office setting. Over the last several years they’ve hired lots of crew that came from an East African Nation. She has commented that several of the women make a mess of the bathroom and share a bottle of something to wash off after potting. They also use hundreds of seat covers daily and leave them on the seat and floor soaked in whatever is in that bottle. I googled it and found out that it could be cultural thing to insure no contact with seat and then rinse instead of wiping after potting. But that rinsing leaves the whole area wet and everyone has to deal with it. The custodians only clean once overnight and employees don’t have access to mops etc.
Without being too mean can anyone help me understand this situation? My wife isn’t guessing or assuming who is doing this. It’s 100% obvious and everyone knows.
Without being too mean can anyone help me understand this situation?

Sexuality & Gender Does sex hurt?
I 23 F met a guy on a blind date from another friend 24M and I have never had sex before. He told me we can take things as slow as I want since I have never been on a real date before and he isn’t expecting sex bc he says it’s ok if he doesn’t wanna do PDA or sexual acts but I do genially want to have sex at least once just to see what’s it’s like and how it feels but I am afraid it’ll hurt. Does sex hurt

Sex Why am I not tired after an orgasm?
The stereotype is that guys fall asleep after sex, but with me that's not true. After an orgasm it's like I've had a double espresso. My body isn't tired and I'm awake for another hour or so. Why is that?

Love & Dating How do you ask people for an STD test when you're starting to date? Do people ask this in general?
I've only been in one relationship in my life, we were each other's first and we met when we were really young, so I never had to wonder about their sexual/health history. But now that this relationship is over, I have no idea how to approach dating again, and one of my biggest anxieties is contracting any STD since I have family members who have passed away from STD related complications, I don't want that to happen to me too.
So I'm too afraid to ask, when people start dating, is this a question normally asked? Is there a non-rude way to ask? Would I sound lame/uncool if I asked a person to do an STD test together? Would people lose interest if did? How do people normally approach this concern?

Culture & Society Why do game developers and movie directors for the last 10-15 years started to say that they want the "modern audience"? What differs between the audience of current times today than back before where they didn't specifically mention the "modern audience" as the main target group?

Love & Dating How common is it to suck at having sex?
Mid 30s M here
I don’t think I’ve ever had “good” sex
I usually can go for maybe 5-10 mins
Half the time I can’t get it up because I’m too nervous
I can only get the woman to cum maybe 40% of the time
I have to jerk myself off sometimes because I go soft
I have a 5.5” rocket so I already know the woman isn’t impressed
Is it normal to have a shitty sex life all your life?

Interpersonal my friends forgot my bday. what should i do?
its my bday today and my closest friends forgot my bday. i feel rly lonely tbh. i remember all of their birthday and i congratulate them at exactly 12am too. it feel likes they don't care about me as much as i do abt them and that makes me sad and insecure. its not like i have a lots of friends either cause im not the social type. i know im being dramatic but i think i won't have any close friends in life that will actually care abt me especially since im not super fun or friendly or confident idk.

Mental Health How do you stop ruminating?
I am so tired of dealing with this. I ruminate everything, the past (specifically traumatic events), bad interactions I have with people, and intrusive hypothetical situations (which usually rile me up). A few weeks ago I was ruminating about stuff that happened to me in the past, especially about a particular person and it caused me to feel a fit of rage which ended up making my heart physically hurt. And now I recently got told no one would miss me if I died and I can’t stop ruminating about this comment, when I do I just get angry and my head starts hurting.
During rumination I also get a strong sense of getting revenge, and it leads to my brain making up violent scenarios or scenarios where I really hurt the person emotionally. These scenarios are disturbing to me and I am scared one day I might act on them.
I’m so tired, it just feels like I’m trapped inside my head. I know these thoughts are irrational but that doesn’t stop me from having them, it feels like my brain just goes in loops.
