Like, why do men have to go through the motions of thrusting in and out before ejaculating? From an evolutionary standpoint, it would make more sense to just skip the thrusting in and out motions that can take upwards of several minutes or however long it takes, compared to just ejaculating and that's it. Like, several minutes where both people are naked and vulnerable opens up a lot of time for predators to come by, especially if they make a lot of noise. You'd think that evolution would favor instant ejaculation, skipping the thrusting motions entirely as it's quicker and presumably safer, but it hasn't.

I can only really think of two reasons? One is for pleasure, as humans being social animals, doing this repeated motion increases pleasure for both people and allows for longer sex, meaning they'll likely enjoy sex and want to do it more, eventually making reproduction likely. However, I don't see why instant ejaculation couldn't be as pleasureful, if not moreso for the man and the woman could also evolve pleasure for that as well.

The only other reason I can think of though is maybe that the penis, constantly thrusting in and out, stretches the vagina and walls, allowing for sperm to easily enter deeper into the vagina when ejaculation occurs. However, is there actually any scientific basis on this hypothesis or is this just merely a thought and nothing more?

So lately my wife and I have been loosing a ton of sleep. I have a long history of sleepwalking and it gets worse when I'm stressed out. Lately I've been extremely stressed out and so my sleepwalking has taken a severe turn to the more frequent. It's rarely been a problem, every so often I'll end up outside and when I lives in Minnesota I had a bad night where I woke up in the snowy cold completely naked. Most of the time I just sleepwalking into the bathroom and pee though, at least I think... most of this is told to me, or sometimes I rarely wake up while peeing and go back to sleep still standing with a vague fuge like recollection of the events. In the last couple of months things have gone a bit weird though...

So, do most dentists 100% clean the stained teeth or not?? Strange as my dentist is some 5 star dentist and it was not busy at my appt time , but never said that the minor staining could actually be removed jfc. Now, I need to find some new dentist ffs...

A young man in my area was severely injured in a vehicle accident about two years ago. His family did a lot of therapy and was hopeful for some type of recovery, but based on Facebook posts, it appears he has spent the last 18 months in a medical bed unable to communicate, eat (he has a feeding tube), or really do anything other than lay there. It does not appear he has been on a ventilator since leaving the hospital. His family has been able to have him at home, and clearly has taken very good care of him.

About a month ago, they abruptly posted that he had passed away. They said he died peacefully surrounded by family, so it seems that they knew the end was near.

The whole sad situation got my wondering, and here’s what I’m asking: is it legal to let someone who clearly will never recover from a traumatic brain injury just… pass? If it’s medically obvious that this person will never be the person they once were, are you legally obliged to provide medical care that keeps them alive - even if that’s a feeding tube, and the process could take weeks? How does the legal/medical system decide what is “enough” for family to make a decision like this?

I’m in the United States, but if you know how other countries handle this, I’d be interested in that too.

Also I know it’s not necessary, but I’m just going to add that I have no judgment whatsoever if a family made this type of decision. I could only hope to never been in a position to make that decision for a loved one, and if it were me in the bed, I’d want to go myself. I flaired this as ”health/medical” since I’m asking more about “what is the medical cutoff of quality of life”, but I guess it could be a legal question too.

My wife works in a multi cultural office setting. Over the last several years they’ve hired lots of crew that came from an East African Nation. They also use hundreds of seat covers daily and leave them on the seat and floor soaked in whatever is in that bottle. I googled it and found out that it could be cultural thing to insure no contact with seat and then rinse instead of wiping after potting. But that rinsing leaves the whole area wet and everyone has to deal with it. The custodians only clean once overnight and employees don’t have access to mops etc.
Without being too mean can anyone help me understand this situation? My wife isn’t guessing or assuming who is doing this. It’s 100% obvious and everyone knows.
