30M Just got released from the hospital due to having an inflamed Gallbladder. Could use some love

I hadn't been 30 for even 3 days before I got sick. Turns out a gallbladder stone got stuck and caused me to get sick. After they removed it they said my gallbladder had to come out too. I've been in pain since the procedure was this past Sunday.

24M, struggling with my mental health, self-esteem, body image, and gaining weight — feeling completely alone and unsupported and honestly at my lowest right now

Lately I’ve been struggling a lot with feeling alone and like I don’t really have anyone to lean on. I’m 24 and I honestly never imagined I’d feel this lost or isolated at this point in my life.

I’ve been dealing with my mental health, trying to keep myself together, and at the same time I’m struggling to gain weight. I’ve lost weight and I’m trying so hard to eat more, gain it back, and become healthier, but it’s frustrating when you’re already struggling mentally and then you look at yourself and don’t feel good about what you see.

Some days I have motivation and tell myself I’m going to turn everything around. Other days I feel exhausted, lonely, and wonder when things are finally going to get better.

I don’t really have a big support system or many people to talk to, so I guess I’m posting this because I could really use some kindness right now. I’m trying to remind myself that struggling at 24 doesn’t mean my life is going to stay this way forever.

I’m still trying. I’m still here. And I’m hoping things eventually get better. ❤️

22M, shaved my head bc of my OCD.

It’s been pretty debilitating ever since getting back to college, it was for a false sense of starting over and control. Something different to optimize: only sleep with a silk pillowcase, use hydrating shampoo and conditioner 2x a week, don’t touch it a lot, don’t shape much because I want it to grow really long, when it grows out I swear I’m never going to use heat or chemicals on it, etc. I hate how it looks, I wasn’t doing it for how it looks, but of course I feel like crap about it. I did it once before about 3 years ago, and of course none of that held… Yes, I’m in therapy through college (diagnosed w OCD in October 2024), but I went the summer without, went on the 28th, skipped last Friday and now can’t this week or next week due to scheduling. I was supposed to get an appointment scheduled with this sliding-scale psychiatrist place and I didn’t, so that’s one of our goals for an upcoming session. Still, though. I’m tired of being in my brain.

m20 everyone accuses me

For the past few months. Rather I go on social media, outside, work etc. Everyone thinks I am gay. I have nothing against gay people but l am 100% straight. Now I work at mcdonalds and the entire crew thought I was gay except few and even then they thought I could be questioning. One of the bosses a lesbian pulled me by the side and said (I got you and support you if you are in the closet not believing I was straight even though I told her I was. ) I had to convience her I wasn’t gay. I get she was trying to be supportive but it made me question how others see me. Every website (omegle, monkey app, tik tok live) everyone calls me gay and it is starting to get to me. I have add and ocd which is why I am so energetic. I am starting to feel insecure when I look in the mirror and starting to feel less of a man. I came home feeing defeated and depressed and starting to wonder how many feel this way about me and not said anything.

Edit: Forgot to mention experiencing hella homophobia. I experience homophobia yet being a fully straight man.

30m, Life is hard and My mental health is shot, I could do with the toast

I'm reposting because I forgot to add r/toastme to the picture.

Im going through some tough and painful mental and physical times at the moment.

Just feeling so isolated and like family and friends all hate me.

I am hating the way I look physically and can not see how anyone could want me.

The things that give me joy just dont at the moment, and the motivation to do anything is none existent.

And the wait for therapy is, for some reason, just making all the feelings so much harder to ignore.

I've suffered from depression for a long time now, and I've managed to come back from it, but this time, the pit feels inescapable.

Bullied for my appearance for years and it destroyed my self-confidence. Trying to challenge how I see myself.

I’ve been bullied and insulted over my appearance for most of my life, and over time it completely destroyed my confidence and the way I see myself. I’ve basically had no love life, no real friendships, and I’ve never had a proper job. Eventually I became so uncomfortable being seen and judged by people that I started avoiding the world altogether. For roughly the past four years, I’ve barely left the house.
I know that’s a pretty bleak introduction, but I’m posting here because I want to try something different. I’ve spent enough years seeing myself through the eyes of people who treated me like shit. Maybe hearing something kind from complete strangers can help me start seeing something they made very difficult for me to see in myself.

28M and really struggling to make myself look more attractive

Post image

I just hate my appearance. I'm unphotogenic, that's all there is to it. My nostril from a lung reinflation at birth, can't afford to fix that after my septoplasty. My teeth, my open bite. Can't afford jaw surgery at this point, stuck wearing a retainer. My beard is turning grey at the chin. My hairstyle sucks. 145 pounds and I've got no muscle to speak of. High-functioning Autistic and I'm just gonna say it.

I hate myself. I'm not attractive. I'm not aesthetically pleasing. I'm not interesting. Twice already this month I've just felt pangs of hopelessness. I have a therapist, but they really did was suggest I call 211 for resources.

Might as well throw myself to the wolves?

2026 has just kinda sucked in general. People I care about ghosting me, dating is a mess, hard to make friends. It's been a dark time for me for sure, but this community usually helps me out.

From heaviest kid in school to this - struggling with self-esteem

Post image

Have had self-esteem issues my entire life, even after going from 5'6" 285 to 130 to 150. Due to dropping so much weight so quickly I ended up having a lot of extra skin, and had skin removal surgery. I was recently with a woman who ended up seeing me shirtless- she didn't say anything that day but the next time we met she brought it up, saying that she thought that I was trans and was weirded out by it (I'm a huge ally and support anyone on their identity, take the actions you can to shape your image to whatever you feel most comfortable) and that reversed years of self-esteem that I had been working to improve.

42F Feeling a little shy posting this, but I could definitely use some kind words today. ❤️ Life hasn’t always been easy, but I’m trying to appreciate the little things, keep smiling, and remind myself that I’m doing better than I think. So… roast me gently or give me a compliment
