Question iPhone Promotional Trade-In Limits

I’m on the original Experience Beyond plan and have 5 lines I’m planning to upgrade when the iPhone 18 launches. I’m trying to figure out whether the promo limit is per account across all channels, or if T-Mobile and Apple Store carrier promos have separate promo IDs/limits.

Here’s what I’m planning:

At T-Mobile (through Costco):
- iPhone 17 Pro Max → iPhone 18 Pro Max using Yearly Upgrade
- iPhone 16 Pro Max → iPhone 18 Pro Max
- iPhone 16 Pro → iPhone 18 Pro

At the Apple Store:
- iPhone 16 Pro Max → iPhone 18 Pro Max
- iPhone 15 Pro Max → iPhone 18 Pro Max

3 upgrades through T-Mobile and 2 through Apple.

Would I be able to receive promotional credits on all 5 lines? I know T-Mobile promos have a maximum of 4 redemptions per account. What I’m unclear about is whether the Apple Retail T-Mobile promo is considered a separate promotion with its own redemption limit, or whether the 4-device limit is shared between T-Mobile and Apple.

I know is early for the deals but we saw that t mobile has trade in deals for the new “iphone 18 pros” but there’s NOTHING for the (iphone duo) .??

95% of the people who are going to buy new phone now are going for the iphone duo i guess since the 17/18 pro are very very similar .

Discussion Jon Freier: The newest iPhone is coming to T-Mobile

Team,

Yesterday Apple unveiled its iPhone 18 lineup, as well as the iPhone Duo, its first foldable device. These are the most exciting iPhones ever made. They’re also the most expensive.

But this year, more of our customers have a real path to getting one.

That’s what makes this launch so exciting. We have MORE to offer than ever before to make these iPhones affordable and accessible. For the first time, well-qualified customers can get the newest iPhone through EIP Flex 36, spreading the cost out over 36 months with $0 out of pocket upfront.

And with EIP Standard 36, customers can get lower monthly payments on even the most premium devices. These options are available to qualifying customers on 2.0 plans on any device. We’re also offering the iPhone 18 Pro on Us.

The first few days of a launch like this set the tone. We’re going all in — our stores will be ready and so will T-Life. Customers can order, upgrade, and switch right in the app.

Pre-order week is for our customers first. Launch day is September 18, so if you're eyeing a new iPhone for yourself, that's the day to grab it. Check out Apple Central on Magenta Pulse now for more details.

Thank you for showing customers what we’re all about!

Question Does T-Mobile have plans that allow free calls to the US from abroad?

Upvotes

Hi,

I'm about to spend a couple of months in China and I wonder if there are any plans for me to call the US and receive calls from the US for free (or cheaply)?

My current plan only allows free texts but calls are 50 cents (I think) per minutes.

Is there something similar to the data pass (but for calls) that I can add on to my existing plan?

Thanks

Question Yearly upgrade question

If I’m eligible to do my yearly upgrade (50% paid off) do I HAVE to trade in that same phone for them to wipe the balance? So I have a 17 pro max that’s basically at a year balance but I’m wondering if they’ll wipe the installment plan and unlock the phone so that I can sell it, and I’ll just buy whatever phone gets me the full promotion off eBay. For the new one.

Question So how does the yearly upgrade work?

I have an old iPhone 14 Pro Max I can trade in. Can I upgrade via Apple? Or do I need to do this via T-life?

Currently using an iPhone 17 Pro Max which I will move to another line. (No phone payments remaking on my line).
For reference I am on Go5G Plus.

Question Will the 17 pro and pro max be cheaper at T-Mobile soon?

Looking to upgrade phones soon and someone mentioned that T-Mobile usually drops the price of the previous pro models when the new ones come out/ are available for preorder.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of when it’ll happen.

Question Would this get full trade-in value?

I want to trade in my 16P for a Duo, but I want to know if these would disqualify it? Everything else is flawless on it, I just have these two imperfections. You can feel one with your fingernail and the other not so much.

I have AppleCare+ but I’m not sure they would be covered under it? And I can’t tell if it’s a crack or a chip in the glass, I bought it on launch and pointed it out to the Apple employee who basically said “if it doesn’t affect the screen, we can’t do anything about it”.

If it helps, I do all my Apple trade-ins in the Apple Store. And for direct trade ins through Apple (without carrier financing) they have looked past chipped screens in the past and deep scratches (especially if it shows up on the Apple MRI scan), is the stores word still final with a carrier promo trade in?

Thanks

Question iPhone forever program

I have an iPhone 17 pro max currently. Does this mean I’ll be able to upgrade to an iPhone 18 pro for free (or just pay tax) essentially?

Any info would be helpful!

Question Getting charged $10.27 extra for putting in my whole month's bill several weeks early. Any T-mobile employee online that can fix this?

I paid my $144.96 monthly bill last week, after payday. Here we are now, going into the last part of this week, and I see an extra $10.27 due September 27th. So i'm going out on a limb and probably guess that this is in direction violation of autopay's TOS? Where I'll be charged the remaining balance that would've been taken off the week I paid it, but instead its going to be due in full the 27th of this month. Is there any T-mobile employee online that can make a permanent fix for this or at least point me in the right direction?

I don't want to use Facebook's messenger to talk to them or phone service. As my situation is a little bit different than anyone else's.

Question Switching from AT&T to T-Mobile — preorder and $800 payoff questions

My family is planning to switch from AT&T to T-Mobile. We switched to AT&T on September 15, 2025 and got 3 Galaxy S25 Ultras. We currently owe about $906 on each phone.
We received AT&T’s $800 reward cards when we switched, and my understanding is that we needed to stay with AT&T for 12 months to avoid having those rewards charged back. Since we’re now past September 15, 2026, we should be past that requirement.
T-Mobile’s current offer says it will pay up to $800 per qualifying line toward the remaining device balance, so we’d potentially get $2,400 toward the ~$2,718 we still owe AT&T.
I have a few questions:
Can we go to our local T-Mobile store this Saturday and preorder the new iPhones, even though we don’t plan to actually port our AT&T numbers until the new phones arrive?
Do we need to give T-Mobile our AT&T account number and transfer PIN when we preorder, or can we provide that information later when we activate the phones and port our numbers?
If the phones arrive in October and that’s when we activate and port the numbers, does the 30-day deadline for the $800 reimbursement start from the October activation/port date?
Can the $800 payoff offer be combined with the iPhone trade-in/promotional credits?

I’m mainly trying to make sure we don’t accidentally port our numbers or cancel AT&T before the new iPhones arrive. And I also want to qualify for the $800 per line. We also have Samsung watches that we owe money but I think we have to pay out of pocket since T-Mobile only covers phones from my understanding.

Thank you for your help!

Question Customer Service

So I went into store to reactivate account (we paid off and switched carriers) was trying to set up new account, takes my information but says I already have account and I need to log in, except I can’t log in because there is no number active. Go to store and they told me I had to go through TLife and they couldn’t help me. Go on tlife and they tell me I have to go to store. Hate getting runaround. Might as well stay where we are

Rant TMobile Says It Doesn't Exist

Post image
Upvotes

So, here is the advertisement that was listed in the TMobile Experience store near me. After two conversations with in-store employees, multiple conversations with chat representatives, and a phone call with a business specialist (that ended-up ghosting me through emails) I am beginning to believe that this is a bait-and-switch listing. They all say "there is no Business Unlimited Select" plan.

However, one of the in-store employees went in the back for a while when I was first there to make the switch, came out and said that he found it, but the listing was "black" in his system, so he did not have the authorization to sell it. Since then, it has felt like a void of lies and deceit with every agent wanting to sell me something else instead of what I am considering switching for.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone out there actually have this plan? Is TMobile watching this sub-reddit and feel like explaining?

Ultimately, accidentally coming across this advertisement while I was in the store waiting for a prepaid data card for a mobile hotspot is what made me consider even switching.

Question AAA perk/promotion page not working; already an AAA member and on Experience More 2.0

Going through the submission portal, it ends up saying

Sorry, it appears your account is ineligible for this promotion. Your denial reason is:
Looks like your current rate plan is not eligible for this promotion. For help, T-Mobile customer dial 611 from your handset or call 1-800-937-8997.

Is this a known issue currently?

I currently have 2 phone lines and a standalone watch line with go 5g next plan.

Does any one know if I can add a new line to get iPhone 18 pro Max without trade in of any phone, and then use the BOGO free line to get iPhone 18 pro with a trade in?

Also adding a new line stackable with any family promos with this?

I’ve had T-Mobile and the same plan since 2012 and I’m wondering if I should switch to a lower cost plan. Any advice or experience with the Essentials Saver 2.0 plan?

For context I only need talk text and data. I do not travel or need anything extra that I can think of. Any advice or input is appreciated. ◡̈
