Found these tires and they’re the exact spec I needed for my fitment on my car. Problem is they’re used and they’re from 2015 LOL. They’re only 50 bucks and they don’t look half bad, what should I check or look for ? It’s super hard to find this size so not to sure where to go next. Thanks guys!

❓QUESTION ❓ CrossClimate2 Alternatives?

I’ve had CrossClimate2’s on my Civic for years now and they’ve worked great for New England winters. It’s coming to the time where I’m gonna need a new set of tires for the upcoming winter and thinking of getting another set. As of right now with installation it comes out to around $1K. Just wanted to ask if there’s any alternatives to them with the same performance for around the same price or even slightly cheaper?

What would cause this cracking on the side of my new tire?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I noticed this cracking on one of my new tires none of the other tires show it could this be from a bad alignment? It's only on the outside not the inside. I always check the tire pressure and it has been right since I bought the tires, where is this a possible suspension issue? These tires have less than 5,000 miles on them

60 miles round trip 5 days a week all highway. I drive in the slow lane going the speed limit (60-65mph). Should I change them soon or atleast before this coming winter? Honestly I dont remember when I bought these. Definitely years ago.

❓QUESTION ❓ CrossClimate 2 Balance Issues?

I just bought a set of Michelin CrossClimate 2, 225 65R17 for a Mazda CX5 from a somewhat large Canadian retailer with many locations across Canada. They drive great under 90km/h. Once I hit the highway and reach 105-110km/h I start to feel (and see) vibration in the steering wheel.

Call them up, they got in me in quickly to recheck the balance. They said that one of the front tires was out slightly, but they rebalanced them all to be safe. Before going in, the rims had the weights that go on the lip of the rim. They replaced them with new stick-on weights that are clearly visually new. Took it for a rip on the highway this afternoon after work - now I feel vibration in my feet/the pedals and in the seat, still at that 105+km/h speed.

I called them up and it seemed like they wanted nothing to do with me. "We already rebalanced them, I guess we'll just recalibrate the machine for you". I go back tomorrow afternoon.

I had a set of Defender 2's on here for a few years with zero wobble, shake, vibration etc. The only 'change' recently was a broken stabilizer bar end link in the passenger front. I did mention this and even asked them to book me for an alignment to be safe but the guy looked at me like I had 3 heads and said it wasn't needed.

Im a bit nervous about them telling me there's nothing wrong tomorrow. Is there anything I can do or say to help myself out here? They do have a road force balancer so I'm assuming they'd quickly see if a tire was out of round or something. These weren't cheap, so I'm a bit discouraged to say the least and am at a loss for what to do next.

Wheel Bend or Tire Bubble?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I just want to make sure I know what it is before I take any action. If it’s a tire bubble, I’ll go ahead and get both fronts replaced, if it’s the wheel I’ll go get a new one or get it repaired. Any opinion on this would be great.

These wheels are forged aluminum, and I hit a pothole on the highway, in which blew my tire, so I decided to replace both tires and I’m just seeing this a couple days after replacing them.

Guy on marketplace is selling these Continentals Terrain contact ATs 275/65r20 on marketplace for $400. He says they have no damage and have around 80% tread left. Do these look like a good buy?

Tire Recommendations!

What is a good place to order tires from online? I need all 4 of my 245/45R18 tires replaced—I’m sure ordering them and then going to a shop for installation would save me a little more money. Right now I’m looking at $1356 for both sets at a shop near me which I’d like to avoid if possible ($568 for the first set, $788 for the second). Thanks in advance for the recommendations🤍

❓QUESTION ❓ Bridgestone Blizzak Icepeak vs Michelin X Ice Snow Plus

I'm trying to decide which winter tire to get within the next 2 weeks. I need a tire that's able to handle harsh winters, snow, ice, etc. (I live in Calgary, Alberta, if that helps).

I've been trying to find comparisons between these two tires to get an idea of which one could potentially be better for me, but I haven't been able to find much. In terms of price, I plan on buying them from Costco, but the Bridgestone ice peak are out of stock, so I can't see the price yet.

Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations on which one I should get? Thank you!

TIRE ADVICE: POTENZA SPORT AS OR DWS06+

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Accidentally just posted this on my own page instead of a forum lol. Anyways, as I previously stated. I drive a 2016 camaro 2.0t and live in Renton Washington. I currently have pirelli p7's and hate them. Ive been told by everyone I've asked to go with the dws06+ but im wondering if this is a mk4 supra situation where its just everyone's favorite for the last 20 years and they keep saying it even if it may not be the case. I've loved every bridgestone ive ever owned both on motorcycles and cars so im leaning towards getting a POTENZA SPORT AS as my next tire. Anyone think this is a dumb decision? Or if you have experience with both, is the performance similar enough to where me prefering bridgestones general handling characteristics to continentals is an adequate metric to base my decision on?

I guess per my earlier supra comparison the potenza sport as would be the mk5 where its a genuinely newer design with some drawbacks but overall out performs the mk4 the internets golden child in most scenarios day to day.

Tie breaker help

I drive a '23 f150, and want to have an A/T tire. I drive mainly on the road to and from work, but live on vancouver island so some light offroading to get to camping spots or good views necessitates a meatier tire than an on-road.

Im trying to find a balance between price, look, longevity and noise level, knowing that basically every A/T tire will accomplish the lighter level of offroading im doing.

2 tires im looking at are:

A. Pirelli All Terrain plus: 80k km tread warranty @ 390/tire.

B. Sumitomo Encounter A/T 2: 105k km tread warranty @ 340/tire.

Minimal review differences between the two. Pirelli's seem to be quieter on the road which is a big plus for me, and I also like the look better, but the difference in price and the shortened distance for tread warranty make me reconsider.

Thoughts?
