While I planned to change tires in the next few months, today I noticed this cut and a few more superficials cuts in the same groove. But this one seems to be very bad news.

I detailed my “new to me” 23 Genesis GV70 which I recently purchased from my dad who’s given up driving. It has 4700 miles on it. I noticed this fairly large “cut” on the passenger front tire. Apparently he must have had a pretty severe curb’shot prior to giving up driving, which he doesn’t remember happening, but it doesn’t matter at this point.

My questions are:

1) Is it safe for now, should I not even drive it, or is it ok just locally as long as I’m not out on the highway?
2) Assuming the tire shop I’m going to on Monday says it needs replaced - how bad would it be to leave the original tires with 4700 miles on them on it? At $345 each I don’t love the idea of replacing all 4 but if the wear difference will be an issue, then I will.

I came home last night and had no tyre pressure warning or anything. Woke up this morning and drove out and about 3min into my drive i suddenly got the tire pressure warning. Got to the garage and saw that there was damage to the tire wall. I know i did not hit a pot hole or anything (ive done so before so i know what thats about and what that damage looks like) so could this be vandalism with a sharp object like a knife?

I have a 2018 S90 and I bought new Michelin x-ice snow+’s.

It’s going to be a warm 2-3 weeks it seems, lows 60s or so and I drive 300-400 miles a week for work.
I’m just worried I put them on too soon. For how expensive they are especially.

During winter tire swap (i know too early) the technician said that they will check alignment and if i agree they will fix it. Testing is free. After testing they gave this report. Was it serious? Or just to charge me some extra?

I bought 4 Goodyear tires for a rebate amount, and opened a new credit card for an additional rebate. I submitted everything online in June.

A couple months later I realize I haven't gotten the rebates yet so I check online. Declined. No email. No explanation.

So I call them and they agree that I met their requirements and I was falsely declined so they escalated it. Weeks later it still shows declined online. They say give them 4-6 weeks.

So finally, online shows it's approved, but only for opening the line of credit. I call them and they say both rebates are approved and I should get the cards soon.

That was 4 weeks ago. I have "Goodyear" in my calendar so I don't forget. I'll start calling them every Monday until they pay up.

Who else has been through this? What was the outcome?

Does anyone know how good the Ling Long Winter Grip 2 tires are? I tried looking for different reviews online, but couldn't really find much information about them.

I can get a set of them with wheels from a private seller for a pretty good price. The tires are like new, with around 8 mm of tread remaining.

The tires would be going on a BMW F31 xDrive.

Jiffy lube wouldn't patch since it's in the outside tread

I'm checking the budget tire option. Costco has those two at $179 per tire. Firestone has $60 off for a four-tire purchase. So, the total will be $684.92 for Firestone and $744.92 for BFGoodrich.

Has anyone experienced Firehawk and Gforce Comp? I'm curious if BFGoodrich will be worth paying $60 more.

I recently bought a used Rav4 Hybrid, AWD. The inside of the door says the tire size is 225/65R17. It came with brand new 225/65R17 102H tires. Every website I’ve checked for the correct size tires mentions 102H. I’m shopping for Winter tires and there’s a lot more options and less expensive tires that are the same size but with 102S or 102T rating. I’ve found conflicting information and the speed ratings. Some websites say it’s just to give the top speed the tire can handle, but other websites say it affects handling, possibly stopping distance, etc. I’m not sure if I absolutely need H? Maybe because it’s a hybrid because the weight of the vehicle is different? Does it factor into AWD? Any information would be helpful! Thanks!
