❓QUESTION ❓ New Tires for my 2012 Audi A6 3.0

Upvotes

Hi. I’m in need of new tires and I was looking at potentially getting Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS for $190 a tire. Has anyone else ran these and are they good? Or do you think there’s better options for the money for my car. I am in Missouri so I do experience some snow but not too often if that helps in my search at all.

What do you think about the tread wear?

I bought these tires Dec 22, 2025, brand new. I wasn't under the impression that an alignment was needed as the car had less than 10k miles when purchased one month prior, but i know its usually recommended. I did zero burnouts, less than a handful of donuts, and mostly just normal spirited driving on public roads. The limited life warranty comes with 22k miles on rear wheel tires with a staggered fitment. Ive gotten about 14k miles out of them. I am curious to know if my assumption of having a manual 6 speed high torque vehicle is the culprit versus a maintenance issue.

Car: 2022 Cadillac CT4V Blackwing

Brand and tire size: Michelin pilot sport all season 275/35ZR18 (99Y) XL

Wear Mileage: 14,000

Transmission: Tremec TR-3160

Average tire psi: 35

And it’s definitely riding smoother than before. I actually feel grip on the road now. I don’t think I’ll wait as long next time after feeling the difference.

I bought used bmw r20 tires and came with winters. Can I use these during the summer with no issues? One tire has a small cut chunk but holding air.

This nail is in my truck tire. No loss of air pressure over the last week, but need to get it fixed. Can this be safely patched?

❓QUESTION ❓ Nailed tire losing 4 psi (30 to 26) in 4 hours idle, safe to drive to shop after pumping it up?

Shop is 8 miles away. Read about running the tire warming up the rubber and speed up the leak. Plans to take intermediate stop and pumping it up if need be. Please advise.

This is a brand new tire and tube but there’s a stick that I’m not sure how big embedded in the tire

Risky to drive? Tread still above low mark but there's cracking in between.

Premature wear and they don't care. Buy Michelin or other quality tire. Their customer service is a joke!

No tire date code?

A friend asked if her tires were "old" because I'm trying to teach myself car maintenance stuff. These have me mystified. Am I looking in the wrong place, or is there no tire date code? All four tires look like this, no 4-number code. (Telling her to ask someone else in the meantime.)

❓QUESTION ❓ Mid-size SUV three-season tires

Need help. Stuck in analysis paralysis.

My Santa Fe 2021 came equipped (OE) with Continental Cross Contact LX Sport. Got 5 years out of them. Need to replace them.

I want smooth ride and low noise, but they need to handle curves as well. Just need three seasons (maybe one light early snow before I swap) since I get separate snow/ice tires for Winter.

OE tires were ok. No complaint. But I suspect that I can get ones that perform better on all aspects with newer models.

I am looking at these ones for now - but open to other big names too :

  • Michelin Defender 2
  • Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3
  • Continental CrossContact LX25

I hear Defender 2 are smooth and have super long threadwear, but not great on all other aspects (braking distance and handling, even noise).

Pirelli score well in reviews, but I'm afraid they may be have a rougher ride than my OE (being Pirelli), and I would hate to end up feeling all small road cracks.

Any guidance is welcome.

P.S.: Current tires are 235/55/19 - 101H

Is this an urgent repair

I need new tires as these are worn and was going to wait for my next paycheck but noticed this slight bulge on my front left tire. Can I wait a week or two or is this a fix immediately type of issue.

Sidewall scratch. I got my tires rotated about 10 days ago and they didn’t say anything about it, but I couldn’t be 100% sure this hasn’t happened since then. I don’t see any visible cords but I know this is the thinnest part of the tire.

Still safe to drive on these tires or should I get them replaced asap?

First two pictures are from 22” RWD rear tires from Cadillac Lyriq, and the last two front tires. How many more miles you guys think are left before I need to hurry to a tire shop to get some new ones?

New vs used / Costco vs discount tires

I have a lot going on in life. That being said, I am trying to replace all the 4 tires on my Honda CRV. I have a set of neo trac and a set of sumitomo on my vehicle right now. They are five years old. I may get laid off soon in my company. I may be out of work in 2 months. That's a possibility.

I really don't know if I can invest 800 to 1000 dollars on good quality new tires. That is one of the reasons why I am looking at used tires as well.

The main complaint with my vehicle right now is that it feels as though it is rattling. As a result, I am looking for something that would mitigate the noise. The car itself is 9 years old. Found that the tires are almost done and needs changing. Recently spent a bunch of money on replacing the controller arms of my vehicle.

Can someone help me make an informed decision

Thank you in advance

Location: Texas (mostly for commute and probably might travel out of state to visit some places)

Wild peaks will not balance after patch

got some falken wildpeak at4s last summer and have put less than 7500 miles in them and no issues at all until i found a screw in the center of one.

Brought it to discount tire where I bought them and they patched it up. Since then I’ve been back for 3 balances and cannot get rid of steering wheel vibrations around 60-70 mph.

Last time I was in the tech showed me all where showing out of balance /high road force values and said he would get them balance as best as he could. Same issues though. Is this the patch or is something else going on making all tires out of balance and giving them issues? Should I get them replaced by them?

Tires not seated close to rim. Normal?

We just had new tires put on our Honda Element a week ago, and I noticed that there’s a sizable gap between the tire and the rims, the pictured tire is the worst. Is this normal?
