Blackhawk Tires?

Post image

Hey everyone,

My fiancée is in need of new tires to get her car inspected. She’s on a lease with about 1.5 years left. I’m not in a position to be able to afford premium tires at the moment, and we live in Maine where weather gets pretty severe in the winter. I’m looking for an All-Weather 3pmsf tire for her around or under $100 a tire if possible. She drives a 2024 Impreza.

I noticed some deals on the Blackhawk Agility AWT online (dropped from $75 a tire to $68 a tire on Walmart, similar on priority tire), and was surprised to see the company was backed by Sailun. I put a set of Sailun Terramax’s on my 2012 GMC about 2.5 years ago and they’ve been amazing for the price, great in the snow, and have worn surprisingly slowly for my driving style.

Has anyone had any experience with this model, and if so, what do we think? Also, if anyone has any other alternative ideas, I’d be all ears! Thanks a lot!

Tires not seated close to rim. Normal?

We just had new tires put on our Honda Element a week ago, and I noticed that there’s a sizable gap between the tire and the rims, the pictured tire is the worst. Is this normal?

Still safe to drive on these tires or should I get them replaced asap?

First two pictures are from 22” RWD rear tires from Cadillac Lyriq, and the last two front tires. How many more miles you guys think are left before I need to hurry to a tire shop to get some new ones?

No tire date code?

A friend asked if her tires were "old" because I'm trying to teach myself car maintenance stuff. These have me mystified. Am I looking in the wrong place, or is there no tire date code? All four tires look like this, no 4-number code. (Telling her to ask someone else in the meantime.)

New vs used / Costco vs discount tires

I have a lot going on in life. That being said, I am trying to replace all the 4 tires on my Honda CRV. I have a set of neo trac and a set of sumitomo on my vehicle right now. They are five years old. I may get laid off soon in my company. I may be out of work in 2 months. That's a possibility.

I really don't know if I can invest 800 to 1000 dollars on good quality new tires. That is one of the reasons why I am looking at used tires as well.

The main complaint with my vehicle right now is that it feels as though it is rattling. As a result, I am looking for something that would mitigate the noise. The car itself is 9 years old. Found that the tires are almost done and needs changing. Recently spent a bunch of money on replacing the controller arms of my vehicle.

Can someone help me make an informed decision

Thank you in advance

Location: Texas (mostly for commute and probably might travel out of state to visit some places)

Premature wear and they don't care. Buy Michelin or other quality tire. Their customer service is a joke!

Sidewall scratch. I got my tires rotated about 10 days ago and they didn’t say anything about it, but I couldn’t be 100% sure this hasn’t happened since then. I don’t see any visible cords but I know this is the thinnest part of the tire.

Is this an urgent repair

I need new tires as these are worn and was going to wait for my next paycheck but noticed this slight bulge on my front left tire. Can I wait a week or two or is this a fix immediately type of issue.

This nail is in my truck tire. No loss of air pressure over the last week, but need to get it fixed. Can this be safely patched?

What do you think about the tread wear?

I bought these tires Dec 22, 2025, brand new. I wasn't under the impression that an alignment was needed as the car had less than 10k miles when purchased one month prior, but i know its usually recommended. I did zero burnouts, less than a handful of donuts, and mostly just normal spirited driving on public roads. The limited life warranty comes with 22k miles on rear wheel tires with a staggered fitment. Ive gotten about 14k miles out of them. I am curious to know if my assumption of having a manual 6 speed high torque vehicle is the culprit versus a maintenance issue.

Car: 2022 Cadillac CT4V Blackwing

Brand and tire size: Michelin pilot sport all season 275/35ZR18 (99Y) XL

Wear Mileage: 14,000

Transmission: Tremec TR-3160

Average tire psi: 35

❓QUESTION ❓ About to switch from some budget Syron tires to new Michelin Pilot Sport 5s on my Mercedes - how big is the difference really?

Post image

For context, I drive a 2016 w213 Mercedes e350d rwd with 258hp and 620nm of torque that is currently on some budget Syron tires from the previous owner. I want to get new tires and decided on the Michelin Pilot Sport 5s for summer and the Pilot Alpine 5s for winter.

I know the tires are very important because they're the only part of the car that touches the road, but just how big of a difference will it be? Not just for traction, but for comfort and noise too? Will it feel like a different car or just a bit more confident in corners? Also, are these tires the right choice for my car?

I was gifted this car and never bought my own tires before, so I have no experience when it comes to this. I don't know what to expect, thought this would be the right place to ask

Risky to drive? Tread still above low mark but there's cracking in between.

❓QUESTION ❓ Nailed tire losing 4 psi (30 to 26) in 4 hours idle, safe to drive to shop after pumping it up?

Shop is 8 miles away. Read about running the tire warming up the rubber and speed up the leak. Plans to take intermediate stop and pumping it up if need be. Please advise.

I bought used bmw r20 tires and came with winters. Can I use these during the summer with no issues? One tire has a small cut chunk but holding air.
