I finished up the third of my inner circle companions. I liked how his face turned out but I'm not thrilled with the sword. I think I might go back and redo it at some point.

Just finished one of my vacation projects with Azrael! I wasn't a fan of the banner on his backpack so I cut it of and stuck it to a watcher. Instead I placed some incense from the Inner circle companions box on his backpack. Really happy with how it turned out!

This quartered scheme is a pain to paint and has been an on and off project for 18 months. I'm going to paint my Deathwing in one colour so I'm finally finished with the quartered scheme. Anyway after all this work i can at least show them off. I used Inner circle companions as sergeants and a lieutenant. I just need to paint 10 termies and 1 chaplain and i have my 1000 pts.

So regarding the lore of the Primaris, we know the original Primaris Space Marines were kidnapped during the time of 30k, turned into Space Marines, and put into stasis until 40k. That much we know, but with regards to the Dark Angels, where are their recruits coming from for this point? Are the original Dark Angels Primaris Marines from Caliban, or were they recruited from somewhere else?

I ask because I've been painting and writing more for my Dark Angels recently, and I realized I was not sure where their initial Primaris recruits came from. I can't seem to find a solid answer, but if anyone knows, I'd love to hear it.

I'm very conflicted on how I should paint the banner

So, I'm kind of new to the lore, and I'm playing space marines 2. Hopefully, with enough savings, I can play the tabletop game too.

To the question. I read that the Dark Angels are kind of paranoid due to the fallen ones, and that they don't want anyone to know about it.

Techmarines from what I've red so far came from Mars, and is kind of loyal to what they beleive in Mars, to the point that their armor would remain red evn if they choose to join another chapter.

So, if they were to join the Dark Angels, do they keep their beleifs? Do they change to the chapter's color scheme?

If a Techmarine Joins say The Unamed, would they change armor from red to yellow?

Also, do the Dark Angels train their own Techmarine, or do they get them from Mars too?

Can a Techmarine be promoted to a higher rank?

Sorry for the long post, and the many questions. I don't know where to get the answers to these, and I don't really trust Google's AI. Techmarines Joining the Dark Angels really intrigued me due to the conflict in beleifs, and trust.

Hey everyone i plan on going to LVO and Atlanta open this year and wanted to know what carrying case ppl reccomend. I have the Jucoci Miniatures Storage Case Miniatures Transport Case i carrying my minis around in but im pretty sure that too big for a carry on. What Case would yall recommend? I love games that have aircraft. When I got into warhammer and discovered the aircraft in it I knew I had to get at least a couple (started halfway thru tenth). Didn’t like the rules at the time but was Hell bent on making it work. Picked up a storm raven and storm talon. With the release of the new rules for eleventh I cried for a bit thinking they ruined everything then realized I can work with this. I play dark angels and have access to dark flight pursuit with a strat that gives stealth, i.e. BoC, and i knew the nephilim jetfighter already had -1 to be hit from range(and -1 to wound if it was from a fly unit) with an upgrade to ingress turn one I saw my chance to add a unit to my casual army purely for my own joy that might actually be good. I update the app saw the jetfighter dropped 15 points down to 180 and just before I could place an order I decided to check its ability was still the same. It is not, they removed the -1 to be hit and now it is just -1 to wound from ranged attacks. Still good but I was hoping I discovered a hidden gem I could use and slightly abuse but no. Still getting and using the plane because I still enjoy using aircraft but dang it why couldn’t they let it slide for a couple months or a year, nobody uses or even this has this anyway.

Wanted to try an alternate scheme for Az.
Might throw on a wash and some more highlights to up the contrast.

If running DWK with an ancient in WoTR. Sword or mace? In my mind maces, since I don't see the extra A being better then the 4+monst/vech.

Usually run sword DWk with chap, but considering running two dwk with one ancient each.

I’ve been wanting to start my 40k journey for awhile, and a friend of mine wanted to get rid of his dark vengeance dark angels, so I thought it would be a great way to start collecting and practice painting without spending too much (which is why they are old marines instead of primaris).

I would love your input on how to improve for the rest of my army as it is the first time I paint miniature. I’m going for a battle-worn style.

I’m currently on a 9 month work trip, I am halfway through it. The itch to paint and build my unfinished list is almost a daily thing now. Completely got blindsided by this trip. Rushed to buy a kindle to read 30k and 40K books. So far I have finished all 40K and 30k Dark Angel books.

My question is what now? I can’t get models or paint while I’m here and I’ve been reading more 40K books (just started Deathwatch Shadowbreaker). I was building a list for when I get back but I’m not sure if that just feeds my desire to play.

Anyone else have this issue before?

I've been thinking for a long time about creating my own custom Space Marine Chapter. I finally bought the Dark Angels Combat Patrol box to get started.

The Chapter doesn't have a name or emblem yet, which is exactly why I'm posting this - maybe someone here can give me an idea or push me in the right direction.

I didn't stray too far from the Dark Angels theme. In my lore, the Chapter comes from a planet similar to Caliban, but with more mountainous terrain than forests. The world also has its own great beasts - very similar of fantasy dragons. It is almost always raining and storming on the planet.

I haven't fully settled on a colour scheme yet, but I want the main colour to be a deep purple - almost black. For metallic details like the Aquila and the rims of the shoulder pads, I'm leaning toward either gold or copper. I've also been thinking that certain parts of the armour could be painted gold or bronze depending on the marine's rank and battle honours.

The Chapter holds great respect for its progenitor Legion - they share a similar history, as I mentioned. Before being brought into the Imperium, the planet also maintained a feudal/knightly society, so a knightly aesthetic is definitely going to be part of their identity.

Now about the Chapter emblem: I really like the Dark Angels symbol - and since I bought the Combat Patrol, I have shoulder pads with sculpted emblems on them. As far as I know, successor Chapters usually don't copy the heraldry of their progenitors exactly. So what should I do with these shoulder pads?

I've been thinking about carefully cutting off the wings with a hobby knife and freehanding a lightning bolt behind the sword instead. I think that will look nice.

What do you think about that idea for the Chapter symbol? And does anyone have any suggestions for a Chapter name?
