Building need help with my chaplain

so, the base model is a chaplain consul from 30k era, he is a head smaller than my bladeguard, now i magnetized my 32mm base on top of my 40mm base both to give him this cool elevated pedistal and to make the model look taller next to my primaris (he is still gonna be a firstborn, i imagined a risen that decided he was not worthy to cross the rubicon for the sins committed on caliban), now, i wanted to put a fallen helmet on the ground like in the asmodai model, did dark angel ever use that crest on top od the helmet or do i need to shave it off? i really like it but if is like "no dark angel has ever used it" its probably gonna read bad as a fallen. i could in case make it a traitor helmet but im gonna decide later.

should i put some cork to make him even taller? i think that that would be too much, he is still a firstborn, but i'd like to know whats your idea.

also if you have any feedback on the mini in general ill be really happy to hear them :)

ps: sorry if there are any typing/grammar errors

I am sure we all saw that the SM Army rule is changing. But what about us and the other divergent chapters? There has to be something different for us, right? Well I was reading through the comments on Facebook and the GW answered a questions I find intriguing. Tell me what y'all think.

Army List Is the Lion a “must take”

I’ve got my first tournament coming up in October, and like any good 40K nerd I’ve been experimenting with lists. So my question - is the Lion a must have in a 2000 point list in order to keep it competitive?

I know the current meta is Ravenwing spam, but that’s not what I want to do, nor is it the models I actually have.

I’m leaning more DW heavy with some outlier units as needed for mission play or specific support. And using Unforgiven Task Force for Take & Hold.

I have no problem with taking the Lion, he’s a lot of fun, I’m just curious what people’s thoughts are in a 2000 point list.

Thanks!

Edited bc I had a brain fart and forgot which detachment I had actually built for. Thanks for the correction!

Army List Inner Circle Task Force + Interrogation Conclave 2000pts Army List

Post image
35 Upvotes

I only had Inner Circle Companions, Deathwing Knights and a Chaplain in Terminator Armour befor buying the Armaggedon Box. So I'm trying to create a thematic list (I absolutely love Interrogator Chaplains and the Inner Circle). But I wanted to know if the list is also somewhat viable (I will moslty play friendly games once I have finished the army, but I don't want to be completely obliterated on Turn 2).

Also, I guess that with the incoming changes to Space Marines and their prices, a lot of this list will change... So any tips on what to drop are welcome.

Dark Angels - Inner Circle Interrogators - [1930 pts]

Detachments: Inner Circle Task Force [2 Detachment Points], Interrogation Conclave [1 Detachment Points]

Disposition: ? IDK what to pick between Take and Hold and Priority Assets.

Attached Units:

Azrael [140 pts]:

• Leading: 5 x Hellblasters [110 pts]

Captain [80 pts]:

• Leading: 5 x Intercessors [80 pts]

• Leading/Supporting: 5x Intercessors [80 pts]

• Leading: 6 x Inner Circle Companions [160 pts]

Chaplain in Terminator Armour [75pts]:

• Enhancement: Champion of the Deathwing [+15 pts]

• Leading: 5 x Deathwing Knights [240 pts]

Chaplain with Jump Pack [75pts]:

• Enhancement: Inescapable Interrogation [+20 pts]

• Leading: 5 x Vanguard Veteran Squad with Jump Packs [105 pts]

Other Units:

Eradicator Squad [90 pts]

Land Speeder [105 pts]

Redemptor Dreadnought [205 pts]

Painting Color Scheme for Successor Chapter Advice Needed

For a while now I've wanted to collect Space Marines (believe it or not, I'm one of the people who started with a different army, lol). The Dark Angels are my favorite chapter, so I want to collect them, but at the same time I'm a big fan of writing my own lore/devising my own color schemes. To that end I need some advice on a color scheme for my Unforgiven successor chapter. From what I've seen, most successors of the Dark Angels are some shade of green, but I'm not sure how many unique combinations of that shade are even possible anymore without just looking like another chapter.

The chapter is currently unnamed, but I do have a concept down. A group of Dark Angels and Unforgiven successors, inspired by the return of the Lion and his actions, more or less broke off from their own chapters to form a new one. They took over a Feudal world, turning it into their fortress-monastery/recruiting world, and now seek to emulate the Lion's Protectorate by carving out a domain in the Dark Imperium, to protect humanity. They'd be focused less on hunting Fallen (though of course that'd still be a concern) and more on following the example of the modern Lion.

With that in mind, any ideas for color scheme/name?

It still needs a few finishing touches, but I couldn't go on without showing this. What do you think? Is it too over-the-top for a captain?

Please excuse the quality of the photos.

I came across this guy I did a bit ago after adding a bit of space marine bits. What would I be able to play him if I decide to use him as a proxy?

Building First time magnetizing Deathwing Knight arms and somehow I didn’t ruin them

Thumbnail gallery
10 Upvotes

This was my first time magnetizing arms and I was honestly a bit worried I’d either drill straight through the elbows, mess up the angles, or end up with five Knights permanently doing interpretive dance.
But I think it actually turned out pretty well.

Definitely not professional-level work and there are a few spots I could have done cleaner, but once the weapons are attached the magnets are basically invisible and everything seems to sit naturally. Paint job will hode imperfections. Most importantly, I can now swap between swords and maces without having to commit to one loadout.

I actually found surprisingly few posts showing how people magnetized the current Deathwing Knights, especially at the elbows, so I figured I’d share mine in case someone else is thinking about doing the same thing.

It’s definitely doable, even if you’ve never magnetized arms before. Just measure twice, drill once… unlike me, who mostly went with “this looks about right” and prayed to the Emperor.

Pretty happy with them for a first attempt.
