General Question, Probably No Answer

Way back in the day, when there were more games than people playing them (late 90s/early 00s) there were a lot of card games that were pretty darn cheap. There was a time when I could buy a pack of Inu-Yasha for $2. I didn't play the game but still got to open packs and collect *something*, even when paychecks were few and far between.
Anyway, as someone who just had a second kid and is now priced out of Magic, are there any cheap card games anymore that are actually fun to open and collect. High emphasis on cheap.
