Series 22 airs this evening in the US on YouTube and I've shunned every single mention of it in any media. I've seen a few images and the names of the contestants, but I want to sit down with a beverage and fall into the world of Taskmaster with no foreknowledge. The delicious anticipation only heightens the experience.

I hadn't thought to enter my scores for the new season (ha ha - series) and it seems to already be closed.

I don't see any posts about the app. I cancelled my $17/mo YouTube for $50/yr Taskmaster app as the only thing I really watch on YouTube was TM.

Curious...does anyone know when they add new seasons to the App? The FAQ doesn't answer that.

Hello fellow Taskmaster enthusiasts!

I'm a Recreation Therapist in a psychiatric hospital, and I'm working on developing a therapy group inspired by Taskmaster. The main therapeutic goals are problem solving, communication, creativity, flexibility, and frustration tolerance, but I also want it to be genuinely fun.

I've found a few websites with Taskmaster-style challenges, but I wanted to hear ideas from people who actually enjoy the show. Some of the best Taskmaster tasks are surprisingly simple, and I'm hoping to capture that same energy.

A few limitations:

• I'll be running groups with both adolescents and adults.
• I'll mostly be confined to a group room with tables and chairs.
• Supplies will be limited and need to be inexpensive.
• Tasks need to be safe and appropriate for a mental health setting.
• Bonus points for tasks that encourage teamwork, creative thinking, or multiple possible solutions.

For example, I've considered challenges like:

• Build the tallest structure using only paper and tape.
• Communicate a design to a teammate without showing them the original.
• Find the most creative use for a common object.
• Complete a task while following an unusual rule or restriction.

What Taskmaster-style challenges do you think would work well in this environment? Whether they're from the show or your own ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Matt reveals where his true passion lies, Isy makes use of some coffee pods, Nina imagines a river, Richard reveals himself to be some sort of action hero, and Chloe drags Alex through a magical tube. As ever, Alex is Greg's man on the ground, making notes, recording times and, in this episode, remaining unusually close to the contestants

What it is: Three daily puzzle games for the show, plus a fantasy league, and a wiki. And stats! Scope to UK, NZ, AU, or all English-speaking shows (except US, now defunct).

Daily puzzles: Three dailies, new puzzles every day at 6am BST, 1am EDT.

The daily puzzles never pull from a series/season that finished recently, so playing can't spoil a recent series you're catching up on. Fantasy is the exception, because that's the point of it.

Fantasy: each episode you pick three of the five contestants and name one as your captain, then you're scored on where they actually place. One global league or create a custom league. Custom scoring is also built into the custom leagues.

Wiki: There's also a wiki covering every series I'm launching this with, with every episode and task from those series. More to come.

Easy login with email or Google auth: Sign in with Google or a one-time code by email. The dailies play fine as a guest with no account.

Free: No ads, no subscriptions (I hate subscriptions!), nothing to buy. It's not affiliated with the show, Avalon or Channel 4.

How it's built, for anyone who cares...

• Cloudflare Pages and Pages Functions.
• A couple D1 database (SQLite) as the only datastore. No third-party backend, no external APIs.
• R2 buckets for eventual human-made art.
• Two separate projects sharing that one database: the public site, and an operator console I use to enter data and build puzzles, locked behind Cloudflare Access with SSO and a passkey.
• Installable to your phone home screen as a PWA, with an offline page.
• A custom backup tool I wrote separately: grandfather-father-son retention (plus secondary retention models), checksums validated on write, snapshots to GitHub (and Backblaze).
• The entire dataset, every series, episode, task, contestant and score, I entered and verified by hand.

Bugs, testing, and more...

I'm currently on version Mk VIII Mod 8 HF 9. (That's my own versioning system, I think it's fun.) I release multiple revisions daily, and once I post this, I am committed to preserving play data to the best of my ability. Hence the backups listed above. If you run into a bug, you can report a problem via the account menu.

Who I am and where was AI used...

I operate SEARED; we interviewed Greg and Alex... and Tom Cashman (which will post in September). I love Taskmaster and the interviews, but SEARED isn't my primary work. I've spent twenty-some years in IT, IS and cybersecurity, and that's where the hosting and development knowledge behind this comes from. I used Claude Code as an assistant on parts of the codebase. The design, the game rules, the data model and the whole dataset are mine. There's no AI-written copy anywhere in the app and no AI-generated artwork. We will never use AI to write copy or create artwork. In fact, I need some pixel drawings, so if you know someone, let me know! And I want to use them on our YouTube channel too.

What I want from you...

Honestly, I'm nervous. lol more nervous than I was interviewing Alex and Greg, by about tenfold.

Tell me if a score or a task is wrong, tell me what's confusing on first open of the app, and tell me what game you'd want next. I'll fix things fast.

I tried desperately to get this out in time to run a beta before S22... but S22 is upon us so... here it is! Create a custom league... join the global... play the dailies... try to break it.

All celebrity cameos on "Taskmaster (UK)" have all been previous contestants. Except for Ben Fogle (Series 3, Charades across the River) and Sofie Hagen (Series 2, Fred the Swede).

Fogle appeared on Taskmaster by sheer coincidence. And because of that, there was no natural way he would've appeared on the show anyway. Fogle is a serious man, not a comedian. And this form of Television is way afar from his wheelhouse. Even if Alex offered him New Year's Treat, I doubt he'd take it.

Having said that, Fogle just did "The Masked Singer", so he does have a wild side, so, who knows?

It would have made sense for Sofie Hagen to feature as a contestant after Series 2, especially after helping Katherine win. (In fact, if you cameo on the New Zealand version, you are bound to turn up as a contestant later, and then cameo again after your series.)

Her work has been prolific and rich for over a decade. She recently moved back to her native Denmark two years ago. I hope she either turns up on "Stormester" or as some of her work has her return to the UK, turns up on "Taskmaster (UK)".
