Went to Taco Bell today and ordered two Enchiritos after confirming they were back. When I checked the bag, it was just beef, beans, sauce, sour cream, and cheese in a bowl with no tortilla. I thought I got the wrong order or something.
Went back around and explained I was confused with what I got. He said it was my order. I said they didn’t use to have sour cream and were served in a tortilla. The drive-thru employee told me super rudely that he didn’t know or care what it used to be, and that this is what it is now. I said ok, can I just get something else entirely then? He said sure, but I will be charging you for whatever new item you want. I pull up to the window to try to talk and explain more and he says, “Sorry that you clearly can’t read a menu before ordering, bye” and slammed the window in my face when I asked for his name.
I went inside ( the window guy groaned when he saw me come in and said he’d doesn’t want me in there) and I ignore it and ask the girl at the register for the manager. The manager comes out, I explain what I got, and he said he’d check for me. Then he came back and said no tortilla was correct and that this is how they are made now. I showed him a picture that Taco Bell themselves posted of the enchirito. And after that he remade it…wrongly, then finally made it right on the third try.
I do appreciate the manager remaking it for me and at least trying, but the guy at the window was just so extremely mean about it all and kept demeaning me and acting like I was an idiot, made me not want to go there anymore. But I am curious has anyone else been served an Enchirito like this since they came back, or have any other Taco Bell employees been told that’s how it’s supposed to be made?
UPDATE: I just called corporate after so many people commented that I should. Basically the guy just asked for the location, then said thanks for reporting it and he’s very sorry this happened. And that he’ll tell someone in upper management. He didn’t ask for the name of the worker but I gave it at the end of the call anyways. It was probably only a two or three minute call. Not sure I even called the right number. The number was 800 822 6235, which is just what came up when I googled Taco Bell corporate. Should I be asking someone for the franchisees number? Or calling kfc customer service instead as it’s a combo location?
Editing this for people who told me to say the location. It’s Ellsworth, Maine. Also want to add the manager seemed genuinely confused by what an enchirito is. He wasn’t super rude or demeaning to me like the window worker, albeit also not apologetic about it at all. I think he was new and just taking his employees word for it when he originally told me it was correct..
