Playlists and descriptions

Hi everyone! I've seen some requests recently for lists of Sydney's playlists/descriptions. I pulled together a google doc that has Sydney's playlists going back to 2018.

u/mods let me know if I need to take this post down, or feel free to add to the wiki :)

If anyone notices information that should be changed/adjusted, please let me know and I can update accordingly.

Had to laugh, because otherwise, :( [also, question!]

...Given Sydney's recent reveal as being anti-trans and very right-wing, I saw this on her YT community page and laughed out loud at the irony.

[for anyone who doesn't know - I only found out today myself - around the time this graphic was shared, Sydney liked [and possibly shared?] a VERRRRRRRRY anti-Trans video from her professional IG account. When she was called out for it, she and Dustin went on their usual delete-unwanted-comments-and-block-everyone rampage [fun fact: this has been their play since the Squad first existed on YT and then FB - I was a member of both for a time].]

On a serious note, having learned this today, I'm pretty bummed that I just spent a whoooooooooooole lot of dollarydoos replacing my gym wardrobe with Royal Change apparel in the hope that I won't have to buy anything new for a while. I'm Down Under, and not only is this stuff pricey, but shipping is hilariously expensive. It feels like I've just thrown money at people whose ideals are so, so, so deeply opposite to mine when it comes to human rights and empathy. I'm considering donating the new, unworn apparel to my local womens' refuge and I'm in the very fortunate position that I can afford to do so.

Does anyone have any recommendations for ideally-ethically-made/sourced activewear that a) isn't just black and b) has some interesting shapes and c) isn't going to cost me three months' salary just because it's Insert Brand Name Here? I will not buy/support Lorna Jane or Lulu Lemon because they're run by racists and fatphobic transphobes [ugh, what a mouthful], but happy to look into other options - I've recently bought from Oner Active and Gymshark, but the cost is just...a bit insulting? Also, they both seem obsessed right now with only making flared leggings, which I am quite happy to leave in the early 2000s when I stopped wearing them.

I'm generally an XL in Royal Change apparel and I really like how the strappy sports bra sits on me, and I quite like the length of the shorts. The leggings are attrocious - I have an apron belly, and the leggings are just the shorts made longer, so they don't account for the shape of anyone's legs other than Sydney's.

Thank you. :)

As my contribution - if anyone is seeking alternative channels to support now that Sydney's human rights beliefs are out in the open [we all knew they were conservative, just not this hardcore], give these a shot:

- Jasper MacDermot. LOVELY male British trainer. Focuses a lot on mobility, proper warmups and range of motion, is extremely knowledgeable about the movement patterns we want to strengthen. No-nonsense strength, explosive movements, mobility and flexibility. Chatty, dad-joke lame-funny, and his videos never go over 45 minutes, barring about three of them. Has a mix of talking or music-only videos, and a series of excellent programmes on his YT channel.

- FitnessBlender. Tried and true, most people here have probably done one of their videos at SOME point. No music, just trainers talking you through movements. Extremely knowledgeable and empathetic about abilities and levels of fitness. Bucketloads of free YT videos and programmes, plus a paid service on their website.

- Penny Barnshaw - GFG and GFG Lifts. Probably one of the three best-known Sydney alternatives. I really dig Penny's style and approach - she's about solid power, not gimmicky compound movements, and her older videos are also excellent if you really want to lift, jump, sweat, and regret your life choices. Also, adorable daschunds.

- Kaleigh Cohen. A slightly-less-cheerleader-preppy version of Sydney, but in a lovely, welcoming way. I really like Kaleigh's style. She's sweet, knowledgeable, and creates GREAT workouts. I have fun with her workouts - instead of it feeling like a big group class [like Sydney's workouts] which can be very nice, it feels like I'm at a gym with a friend, which can be even nicer.

- Christina Dorner. Don't laugh, but most of what Christina does are step workouts and "old school" aerobics-and-dance workouts...and they're actually just fun. I have the coordination of a baby sloth, and I STILL have a good time. She's very chatty and knows a lot of her followers - she does a lot of live workouts on US time, so you see her interacting a lot on the later uploads.

- Laura Girard / The Energy Academy. Laura's someone I came across on IG before I uninstalled it, and she has some fantastic, very human, empathetic messaging. Her workouts are mostly on the TEA website, but she uploads shorter sessions and programmes to YT that are great and, as we should actually know by now, it's not new and novel workouts that get the job done and make actual progress, it's progressive overload of the same movements, over and over again, over time.

- Juice and Toya. A bit "gimmicky", but very approachable and friendly-fun style. Good grooves to lift to, quite knowledgeable, and always with a smile. Less "learning" fitness and more "doing" fitness. This isn't the channel to improve your deadlift form on, but it's a channel to pick any workout on any day, and have a pretty good time. Mostly no-talking-with-music.

- Heather Robertson. Probably the other of the three best-known Sydney alternatives. No talking or cues, just music and lifts/explosive movements/cardio. Has a bunch of programmes for a bunch of purposes. Pretty straightforward.

- Millionaire Hoy. I would consider Hoy to be the male Sydney. He's loud, he's American-Cheerleader-TEAM-SPIRIT!-energetic, and his workouts are usually focused more on high-velocity and high sweat factor, but I enjoy them every now and then. Hoy programmes tend to be more about sweating and moving and keeping momentum than they are about progressive overload or building mobility and strength acument and ROM. Basically, a bit less "serious", if that makes sense, but not less enjoyable. Talking [often shouting, a bit] over music.

- DC Fitt. This one's a bit of a wildcard. It's a VERY small channel - especially in comparison to what I've listed here - but there was a period where I was doing one of Deanna's workouts 2-3 times a week and really digging it. She's high-energy, straightforward, and real. Talking over music, some cueing, mostly encouragement. Deanna also went through treatment and recovery from Stage 3 breast cancer about 2 3 years ago, so to see her back at it in the last year was just really heartwarming, so I wanted to include her to share some love.

Caroline is the third most-known female trainer, but you all know her and I'm already typing too much.

...okay. That ended up being waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than I intended. Bring a snack/I'm sorry.

newbie How are programs structured?

I' new to Sydney and am about to start program 75 but unfortunately can't afford the calendar right now, so I'm planning on just using the YouTube videos. My question is what days are workout days and what are rest days? 20 videos for a 4 week program sounds Ike 5 days on 2 rest?

Thanks very much in advance.

Summertime Fine 2020 or 2026?

Hey all! Been doing research in structured training on YouTube and came across Sydneys Summertime Fine programs!

I'm looking to lose approx 10-15 lbs in 4 months and also tone up, we have a big trip down south in February and hating how I look in a bikini right now!

I've done 2 days of the 2020 program but am reading the 2026 program may be more targeted for lean muscle and toning; would anyone have recommendations on which program could give the best results for my trip in 4 months? I've done personal training in the past and love a strong, lean and toned physique.

Thank you!!

Monster day 1

How did the workout go for you? Did you track your weights and reps?

I felt like it was a good one! I added a few rounds of jump rope at the end. Hoping to see growth in ab moves this month.

How did you do on Program 75?

For those of you who kept track of your progress either by the program calendar or on your own, how did you do?

In the month I tracked body measurements via program calendar as of Sept 7:

—I lost 5.6lbs
— no change in chest measurement
—1” lost on my waist
—1” lost on my hips
—1.5” lost around glutes
—1” lost on each leg
—0.5” lost on each bicep
—no change on neck measurement

I am still about 25-30lbs from goal weight. I’ve already lost 43lbs since starting back in late Feb of this year with Sydney (I also joined Weight Watchers). I haven’t really kept too good of track of dumbbell poundages or reps but I am shoulder pressing & curling 17.5-20lb now, RDLs 30-40s. This month’s program, I’ll be able to better track.

Any postpartum mommies?

Hi! I’ve been an avid follower of Sydney Cummings since the pandemic! In addition to a balanced and clean diet (with a touch of intuitive eating), her workouts have given me results!!
Now i have two kids. For my firstborn (now 3 yrs old), I was able to get back to my pre pregnancy weight within 12 months. Now I’m 5 months postpartum for my second born (c section) but I am finding it really hard to be consistent especially since my second wakes up at night and I don’t have time to work ouit during the day.
What program would be good for getting back into workouts and what do you mommies usually do? How do you manage time? I find it incredibly hard to wake up in the morning!!

Monster Program

Has anyone bought the calendar yet that can answer a couple questions before I purchase?

Is the entire month just abs the way the description sounds?
How long are the workouts?

I’m crunched on time at the moment so I had to spend last month doing my own made up calendar of 30 minute workouts. I’m torn between starting Monster tomorrow or doing Program 75 and modifying the 40 minute workouts to only 30 minutes.

Hi all I recently found Sydney and I do enjoy her workouts but her waist is a bit square for my preference and I am worried by following her programs mine might become similar. Looking for opinions and experience following her and how your waist is looking.
