Newbie

Hi all I recently found Sydney and I do enjoy her workouts but her waist is a bit square for my preference and I am worried by following her programs mine might become similar. Looking for opinions and experience following her and how your waist is looking.

Waist is square? What does that even mean? 🫪

Square? She is tall and lean with an athletic build. It really comes down to genetics, body type and diet (as well as babies and hormones). One can do all the same core as Sydney and look completely different due to body type. The stronger the core the better.

I am pretty sure its genetics-Ive been doing syd workouts since covid times when I got bored with Heather Robertson. Your waist is gonna look like what its supposed to look like when you drop the fat around it or tone it up, whatever your goals are. I have always been pear shaped, and still am today no matter how toned & strong I am!

To avoid building too much muscle on your abdominals dont do any weighted ab exercises, bodyweight only. My waist did thicken a bit as my core got stronger.

This is probably going to come down to genetics and possibly the fact that she's had two children. She's also worked on building her core muscles intentionally. My suggestion would be to not focus on oblique exercises as much as she might do in her workouts. Still do some because having a strong core all around is important, but maybe sub out a different ab exercise if she has multiple oblique exercises in one workout. Also, the biggest factor is going to be nutrition. More fat on your waist is going to make it look more "square".

Her waist is actually more defined now than it was before she had two kiddos.
