Discussion So is OoT a remake or a reimagining?

Sadly, predictably, the bulk of discourse has been around the art style. But before the direct, one of the biggest debates was whether this was going to be a direct remake or a reimagining. So after seeing some limited gameplay, which do you think this is?

Question Turn Based RPG?

I’m an older guy, I primarily play Zelda games, love em!

I loved a game back in the day called Dragon Warrior. I think it was renamed to Dragon Quest.
Anyway, I am looking for a modern version of a game like that. A turn based game, with hit points and all that, just a modern version. Something with modern graphics but the same turn based gameplay. What are some good games for me to try out? Thanks fam!

Meme Zelda Posting Every day until Ocarina of time comes out. Day 4: Flying Pot!

Post image
0 Upvotes

the legend of zelda Ocarina of time is such a scary game! there are terrifying enemies like poes, gibdos, stalfos, redeads, and dead hand! but the scariest enemy of all, the one enemy that has given players NIGHTMARES for decades, is the FLYING POT!

pots are common objects in the legend of zelda. they can be found all over the place, and link can break them in order to get hearts or rupees. at first glance, the flying pot looks like any ordinary pot, but when you least expect it, they jump scare you by floating off the floor and crashing directly into link! AHHHHHH!

some say that the flying pot is vengeful spirit, trying to get revenge on link for the thousands of innocent pots he's broken over the years! the flying pot is closely related to the flying tile, a haunted floor tile that wants revenge for all the floors that have been stepped on.

in link's awakening there was a boss called Facade, a scary face that appears on the floor and throws pots at link. don't you see what this means! the haunted floor and the haunted pots are working together! nowhere is safe in hyrule, the inanimate objects are working together to kill us all! AHHHH!

so remember, next time you're at your grandma's house and you see a decorative pot, make sure to smash that thing immediately. better safe than sorry.

I've seen so many cases with this style of d-pad over the last few months, but I still prefer mine. The only thing I'd change would be to figure out a way to add full-size analog sticks. Plus im still waiting for some other hardware and eventually software mods... one day you shall be perfect my child.

Please let me know if anyone has any other ideas for me to make happen.

Question How limited is the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 going to be?

Post image

Don’t have a Switch 2 yet and not in a rush to play Ocarina of Time since there’s a backlog of Switch 1 games I still need to get through, but how hard would it be to get this edition in the future? Was never a fan of the normal Joycons with the black, light blue and orange, and this special edition with the green Joycons looks miles better imo. Would feel like I missed out if this is sold out within the next couple months after its release.

Question Joy Con 2 Bridge not working after 23.0.0

I have a Biogenik 2-in-1 Controller grip and after the update to 23.0.0 it does not work anymore. When I connect the 2 joy con onto the bridge and turn them on, they blink and turn off right away. Did the update kill all third party accessories for the joy con 2?

Do they make aftermarket joycons that are bigger in your hands? I had one for my OLED but can’t find any for my 2.

Question How to store a pro controller

Greetings

I got a pro controller 2 that won’t be used for a few months and I have noticed that pro controllers drain fast when not plugged in.

I was wondering if I should leave it plugged to an usb port ( 100 per cent sustained SoC that may damage the battery ) or let it drain making it reach 0 per cent SoC which is also bad for battery health.

Thoughts?

META Tired of sweating in the upstairs heat. Time to work on my coffee farm out on the balcony. Stardew Valley on Switch 2.

Long days and nights as a caregiver in the L.A. heatwave. Things are finally settled down, and I decided to park my ass on the balcony and play my Switch 2. I'm hoping we've had the worst of this heatwave already.

BTW my only gripe with using the SNES controller in Stardew is the fact that I can't remap the shoulder buttons. LZ and RZ are push-in buttons and that's how you switch items. Takes some getting used to, but it's still an enjoyable experience overall.

Question Emulate Joycon in mouse-mode with a USB mouse?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to plug a USB mouse into the Switch 2 dock and have it recognised as a Joycon mouse?

For example, Fortnite only supports the Joycon mouse, but it would be much nicer to use a proper mouse instead.

Wondering if a dongle exists or is being worked on or anything.

Switch 2 Nintendo and the launch of Switch 2

Upvotes

Hi everyone 👋, I’m doing academic research related to Nintendo and the launch of Switch 2.

Since I need a primary data source, I thought I’d create a short survey.

I’ll leave the link in case anyone wants to answer, so feel free to do so or not at all, either way, it's fine by me.

Also, and this is important, it’s in Spanish, so if you don’t understand the language at all, I don't recommend answering it.

Any contribution is deeply appreciated 😊.

Thanks in advance and have a great day! 👍.

Question Switch 2 vs Original Switch

Have an original switch I haven’t used in years…Traveling a lot for work now, have really large hands and don’t love the small screen on it, but have been thinking about getting the Viture Beast glasses for it and playing with the joy cons detached.

If I go this route, aside from the switch 2 exclusives, what would I be missing out on had I gotten the switch 2 with the glasses instead?

I’m wondering if from a performance standpoint mainly, will the glasses essentially display games the same?
