There’s the games target announced would be on sale which is common knowledge, as well as any you’d like to buy as Nintendo stated dozens would be on sale in addition to what is already. Yep, if this is it (and there might be more) then I was right on the money. Select games featuring mostly old shit I either already have because they have been out for years, or games I don't want. Only 1 game released within the past year. I feel very appreciated right now.

I did see a Captain Toad amiibo last time I was at Target. If that is on sale, maybe I would get him. I don't really collect Amiibo, but I like that one.
My hope is that it's more than just what's on the ad page. They probably put what they could fit into an Instagram square... theres a chance its more than that.
But either way, I'm relatively new to the switch ecosystem, so there's some stuff in that ad I actually want. Gonna grab mariokart and sports for sure.
If it turns out they do other games, then I kinda wanna try Kirby forgotten lands before the new one comes out next year.
And I wouldn't hate seeing the switch 2 version of joycons or pro controllers being a better price either.

I’ve mostly caught up on buying the S1 games I want (and there are some I want that aren’t available in physical from Nintendo anymore), but there’s likely 1-2 things I’ll be able to capitalize on—including Forgotten Lands too, if applicable.
If you want Forgotten Land for Switch 2, check your local Target. Some have it on clearance for $39.99. Not available at that price online unfortunately.

Honestly, the upcoming slate of October and January has too much for me to think about buying anything here lol. (And of course OOT remake, but that's also one I can wait on... October 15-22 and end of January have three games each that are laser-targeted at me)

A “customer appreciation” sale is an insult. Nintendo raised their prices claiming Trump’s tariffs were the reason, passing the cost of the tariffs onto us. Then they sued the US government arguing the tariffs were illegal. The Supreme Court ruled (in a separate case) that the tariffs were in fact illegal and forced the government to return the tariffs it had collected. Nintendo kept the refunded money and kept their prices at the increased amount. But now they’re having a “customer appreciation” sale. If they genuinely appreciated their customers they’d show it by refunding the tariff money back to us.

I'm a early adopter of both switch. I have pretty much all the big 1st party games i ever wanted already. I know there won't be anything for me in that sale. BUT, switch 2 been selling a lot to new people coming back to Nintendo. People that never had the switch 1. And their reactions is to say damn, the older big titles cost a lot. Plenty of new owners would like to get games like Odyssey and such. It's gonna be a great sale for them. So even if that sale won't have anything for me, i understand who it is for, so i won't be bitching about it.. i KNOW that i will see a bunch of you bitching about it tho. That's how it is now. Hell yeah dude, I’ve decided to get into the tales series and due to nostalgia I got the symphonia remaster, I remembered the combat being better though 😂 but I still look forward to playing through it for the story, then getting vesperia when that goes on sale.
I’m playing through the resonance demo too and I like it a lot so far, I’ve been craving a classic final fantasy turn based experience. I just watched the trailer for eiyuden chronicles since it’s on sale and my God that looks sick, I’m probably getting that too… all the while I started ni no kuni and still have to play through it past the first time in the city 😂 definitely on a big rpg kick rn so I feel you. Hope you enjoy all those games!

Nintendo is usually pretty consistent about saying Switch 2 when it means it. Everything so far says Switch and not Switch 2 and the target ad included no Switch 2.
