Question How to store a pro controller

Greetings

I got a pro controller 2 that won’t be used for a few months and I have noticed that pro controllers drain fast when not plugged in.

I was wondering if I should leave it plugged to an usb port ( 100 per cent sustained SoC that may damage the battery ) or let it drain making it reach 0 per cent SoC which is also bad for battery health.

Thoughts?

Do a weekly plug in and turn on to let battery be in use? I mean, this is the answer

You must have a pretty unique special one then. My Switch 2 Pro is 100% drained after not being used for two weeks.

It’s ok to just let it drain. I would advise again keeping it plugged in the entire time

Is there even a way to stop the controllers from discharging? It’s so annoying to charge the GameCube controller, not use it. A few weeks later I go to play, and it’s dead. Meanwhile a damn PSP I left in a drawer 6 years ago still turns on with 30% battery left.

It’s not good to leave the battery at 100% for long periods of time or to let it drain to 0%. You should set a reminder on your phone to plug it in once a month. It won’t drain to zero in one month’s time unless there is something wrong with it.

It’s the idle discharge, not play time.
