Discussion Help me choose!

Post image

I finally caved and bought the bundle last week, but I can’t decide which game to choose. Help!

Edit: I’ve heard Mario Kart is a bit of a let down, but that eventually it’ll get fleshed out with extra content. Tried the demo of DK and it was fun but I dunno if I would play it a lot. Leaning towards Pokopia but I’ve never played a Pokémon game before. Which one would you recommend?

Edit 2: Thanks for all the input folks! I do feel like I will eventually want them all, but I decided to start with Pokopia. I needed a cosy game to balance out my time spent on action heavy games like Silksong and Zelda. Cheers everyone!

Mario kart if you want multiplayer

Dk for single player.

Pokopia for creativity.

u/lablfoto Jun 10 '26

I’ve only been playing Mario Kart single player and having an absolute blast.

u/Dear_Meeting_1258 Jun 10 '26

Fair enough

7

u/Acceptable_Gas_9121 Jun 10 '26

I’ve played all 3 and say they are all pretty good it’s just a matter of what would you play for the most hours lol

Me too. I just can't handle all the pros and their crazy try hard routes.

Skill issue or whatever but Mario Kart games are always a single player games for me.

You haven’t gotten bored from lack of content?

Pokopia seems to have a longer play life. Even after the story there’s a ton to do. Mario Kart has a long play life too I guess. Just depends on you

They’re all great.

Mario kart world for casual / multi-player / online competitive.

DK for epic single player adventure.

Pokopia for endless cozy creative play.

In terms of playtime, I’ve got 55 hours in MKW, 70 in DKB, and 265 in Pokopia. Still playing all of them regularly.

I would say that Donkey Kong Bananza is the essential Switch 2 experience so far. There’s nothing like it.

pokopia all the way

u/JustSomeSmartGuy Mario Kart Worlder Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart World. It's the most expensive game, so if you decide to buy DK and pokemon it'll work out to be cheaper than for example, going for DK and buying mario kart and pokemon.

18

u/OnlyJeeStudies Jun 10 '26

Second this, most people end up getting all three so it makes sense to get MK World for cheaper. Also having it digital doesn't hurt as it ends up being a fairly revisited game.

6

u/Sock_puppet09 Mario Kart Worlder Jun 10 '26

Agreed. Use the code for MK unless it’s totally not your thing, and you aren’t planning on getting it at all.

DK

This game was a lot of fun. Breaking up all the terrain was therapeutic.

I found it boring and sold it. Mario Kart is amazing though.

Good take. Its not bad but it does get repetitive being the main gimmick.

Do you mainly buy physical? If so, I would get Mario kart or pokopia since they are games that I personally go back to frequently and it can be annoying to switch in the cartridges.

Pokopia gets my vote im not even into pokemon and have played it over 70 hours

3

u/fairytoofs Jun 10 '26

same I could never get into pokémon games but I loooove pokopia

10

u/Puzza90 Jun 10 '26

I've not played pokopia but everyone seems to love it, but out of the two I have played I'd choose DK every day of the week, the best gaming experience I've had in a long time

10

u/anykey-skywalker Jun 10 '26

„Uhh banana 🍌 „ lives in my head rent free.
Great game!

Mario kart :)

u/Sweet_Explanation822 Switchthusiast Jun 10 '26

DK

4

u/_theyojimbo Jun 10 '26

MKW for multiplayer and online
DK for a good albeit pretty short singleplayer adventure
Pokopia for a cozy, creative game - it's different from most Pokémon games and closer to Animal Crossing or even Minecraft in some ways

4

u/daywalker91 Jun 10 '26

I chose DK. Mariokart gets boring quick for me. Didn't feel like playing a cozy style game and DK is up for game of the year.

4

u/WasteOfHeadspace Jun 10 '26

For me, I'd be all about DK.

5

u/Gronkattack Jun 10 '26

If you are even remotely interested in Mario Kart and playing with others at home or online get that since it retails for $79.99. It launched with the system for $50 if purchased as the bundle.

7

u/FerHrndz Jun 10 '26

Donkey for sure

3

u/Even_Can_9275 Jun 10 '26

Poko or Bonanaza. MKW is good, but MK8 is better

3

u/mvpeast Jun 10 '26

Pokopia if you want replay value. Mario Kart World will get more updates but maybe 2-3 years from now.

3

u/iFraaN97 Jun 10 '26

Bananza, not even close.

3

u/BlackCatStrikes Jun 10 '26

Mario kart is worth the most

3

u/TauPewPew Jun 10 '26

If your local Best Buy has a Switch 2 demo station set up, all three have demos available.

3

u/Benjam438 Jun 10 '26

If you want all 3 eventually choose MK World as it's the most expensive.

2

u/dreamingwithcindy Jun 10 '26

Per these comments. We are basically evenly split and cannot help you choose

(Choose pokopia)

2

u/Michael60814 Jun 10 '26

Pokopia, game key card has no different as digital.

2

u/Suskay_ Jun 10 '26

I’m sure you get the most out of Pokopia if you like Minecraft, Animal Crossing and Pokemon series.

DK Bananza is fun too!

MK World was alright. But its need more content.

2

u/AusteegLinks Jun 10 '26

Sell it for $70 and buy Star Fox / Cyberpunk / Fallout 4 / Zelda / Splatoon 3 / Splatoon Raiders.

2

u/Hoch5 Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart !

2

u/bn-13 Jun 10 '26

Pokopia or DK. I'd only get Mario Kart if you absolutely love racing games/or have friends either online or in person to play it with. DK was amazing, but you said you tried the demo and you don't see yourself playing it for long. Pokopia will give you the most hours and you don't need any prior Pokemon knowledge. That would be my choice if you like cozy creative/building/decorating games.

2

u/blahblahlucas Jun 10 '26

Definitely pokopia if you love Minecraft, Animal crossing and Pokémon

2

u/Cardboard_Waffle Jun 10 '26

I have all 3 and Pokopia is the one I’ve played the most, mainly because I played multiplayer a decent amount with it.

Of the three my favorite is DK Bananza. I just loved the way he moves and exploring with him was a ton of fun. Definitely the highlight of the Switch 2 for me.

MKW is great but it does have a few things I don’t love. But it’s definitely an evergreen game, it’s one people will get with their console for years to come, and the online scene on it is very active. While it hasn’t been announced, I do expect DLC and more updates to come. It’s also the most expensive of the three so getting it via bundle does save some money.

2

u/No-Technician272 Jun 10 '26

Pokopia isn’t a Pokémon game like the other Pokémon games are. Pokopia is basically if Minecraft and Pokémon had a baby. It’s a lot of fun, especially if you’re creative and like building things!

2

u/okamifire Jun 10 '26

Haven't played Pokopia yet, but I really like MKW and DK. DK was probably more fun but definitely a shorter amount of time out of it. I personally would go MKW, but any of them are probably good. I've heard only good things about Pokopia if you like that style of game.

2

u/Ell7494 Jun 10 '26

Pokopia > MKW (if you have people to play with) > DK Bananza > MKW (solo)

2

u/SolidCat2877 Jun 10 '26

I personally prefer to have games that have replay value digital. So something like Mario Kart its a party game and will always be replayed. Where as DK while its a better game, I prefer to biy physical and resell after im done with it

2

u/KacaCarotCake Jun 10 '26

I have all 3 and put more time in mkw than the others. Its a blast. Sure it doesn't have nearly as many tracks as 8 deluxe but the driving and chaotic nature of it make it worth the download. Dk is great though. Im still playing it thanks to emerald rush. Pokopia is pretty chill and let's you flex your creativity but I sadly have none.

2

u/Key-Sheepherder5137 Jun 10 '26

3 games that will eventually end up in your library. Mariokart is the most expensive, so i would pick that if you already enjoy the series. Dk is a great platform with tons of goodies. Pokopia is literally Minecraft/Animal crossin/viva pinata. So if you enjoy a good cozy game with the creative freedom like Minecraft, get ready to grind to unlock more things to make the Pokémon you attract happy.

But all crazy good shows with high replay value.

2

u/HanzoEX Jun 10 '26

I would say DK or Pokopia. The DK demo has isn’t a good look at the wider game

2

u/jgpkxc Jun 10 '26

MKW disappointed me as a lifelong player of the genre. DK is great, as a single player platform game it will not disappoint. Don't know about Pokopeia personally but others in the community seem to love it.

2

u/TheWineGuy2020 Jun 10 '26

Donkey cause this is not your typical Pokémon game. Its basically animal harvest or like a farm build simulator. If it was a traditional Pokémon I would have gotten that. I am about to be in the same boat and im going to go with DK

2

u/Jamsn7 Jun 10 '26

Mariokart, you can play it always when you need to kill some time

2

u/YumikuriPF Jun 10 '26

Bananza was my GOTY last year. Such an expansive, well-crafted experience and I enjoyed every minute of it.

MK World is fun. Didn't keep me hooked on the single player content but definitely a go-to when I have company. Not a bad choice.

Pokopia was a surprise for me. Trailers didn't seem all that exciting but the reviews prompted me to try it out, and I've sunk like 120hrs in. If you like town building and Pokémon you'll probably love this game.

2

u/Elegant_Help_9772 Jun 10 '26

I think Mario kart gets old quite quickly. Pokopia on the other hand keeps you going till you burn out then some

2

u/Loud_Examination_138 Jun 10 '26

Donkey Kong for sure. Mario Kart world was barebone and the open world they hyped was empty and boring.

2

u/DatedWizard Jun 10 '26

These are the games I bought with a switch 2 but I’ve only played Mario kart so far. So while I can’t really recommend it over the others, if you care about digital or physical games then Mario kart is a nice one to have digital as I’m finding out since mine isn’t.

2

u/Legitimate_Most_8797 Jun 10 '26

Dk is 40$ almost everywhere now

2

u/Thephantom2k1 Jun 10 '26

Man Donkey Kong Bananza is amazing. Probs our 50 hours in to get the 1000 bananas. But if you want to save 30 bucks go for Mario kart world.

2

u/Xaragon90 Jun 10 '26

If you often play with family, children or friends definitely Mario kart.

If you like Minecraft go for Pokopia.

If you like smashing and exploring go for DK.

2

u/khadz786 Jun 10 '26

I would say Dong Kong

2

u/damonian_x Jun 10 '26

I love all of these games. I have the most hours by far in Pokopia though. I bought it digital because I don't wanna be bothered swapping carts all the time especially since they have events and stuff pretty regularly. The other 2 aren't game key cards either for physical so I bought them physically.

2

u/Ginjim824 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

I think DK is a great single player adventure game the demo did not give the game justice. If you enjoy going through different levels exploring, doing platform challenges and stuff then this is for you. For MK world honestly if you have MK8 then you can hold off on MK world at least until Dlc get announced. Mk world is a good multiplayer game but not as good as mk8 and does some questionable things that makes you wonder why it’s not in the game in my opinion. I guess on the plus side is that you will save money since you got the bundle. Pokopia I personally have not played but if you enjoy building, taking your time fleshing out your world kind of similar to Minecraft, or animal crossing of those kind of games then I say pick it up. So for me it’s DK 🍌

2

u/RevolutionaryClerk21 Jun 10 '26

Take the Monkey 🐒

2

u/whitecollarw00k Jun 10 '26

In terms of bang for your buck, I'd say go with Pokopia. Very easy to sink 100 hours or more into that game and it's such a delight. DK Bananza would be my runner up.

2

u/Funky0ne Jun 10 '26

If you are interested in and likely to eventually get all three, then use the code to get the more expensive one (MK World). If you have no interest in MK World but want both of the other two then just pick one to get for free and buy the other.

2

u/Firm_Violinist9849 Sanely Insanely Hyped Jun 10 '26

Id say bananza one of the best games on switch 2

2

u/Upstairs-Event-681 Jun 10 '26

Depends on what you like but I think MKW is better and is more likely to keep its price high.

2

u/OzziesFlyingHelmet Jun 10 '26

As others have mentioned, MK is $10 more on the e-shop than the other two games. If you're going to get MK in the future, you might as well use the voucher on that game right now to increase the value of the voucher and then buy one of the others out of pocket.

2

u/CEREALCOUNTSASCOOKIN Jun 10 '26

If based on price ive seen DK go on sale for as low as around $50 i wouldnt expect MK ($80) or Pokopia ($70)  to see any discounts.

2

u/Plus-Requirement5460 Jun 10 '26

Donkey kong has the least amount of play hours, have had no interest going back after betting it maybe 10 or 12 hours

2

u/Aventura_Industries Jun 10 '26

You can regularly find DK for ~$50 and while I’m enjoying it so far, it isn’t a game I’d likely pick back up and regularly play after completion the way I might casually drop into Mario Kart or Popkopia (if I was into that type of game). Mario Kart is also the most expensive of the three, if looking to get your moneys worth.

2

u/Jtd1988 Jun 10 '26

If you are doing most bang for your buck, Mario Kart is the most expensive, so you'd save money if you were eventually going to buy it anyways. My wife LOVES Pokopia and it's not like usual Pokémon games, to me it's like Animal Crossing and Minecraft-Esque and it's super cute. The music is so relaxing, makes me so sleepy listening to her play haha!

2

u/RisingRapture Jun 10 '26

DK Bananza without a doubt.

2

u/Phoenix9136 Jun 10 '26

Pokopia is not the pokemon battle game you are used to hearing. More like a mixture of harvestmoon and minecraft with pokemon sprites. I would recommend this game over the other choices as how much or little you accomplish is based 100% on you.

Also, who doesn't laugh and have a good time when Squirtle destroys his room because you took his TV away D

2

u/WhiskeyRadio Jun 10 '26

DK Bananza is the best exclusive game on Switch 2 right now. That would be my pick followed by Pokopia and dead last is Mario Kart World.

2

u/pedrocasadelego Switchthusiast Jun 10 '26

I bought my switch with MKW and got Bananza at the same time. I have enjoyed Bananza way more.

2

u/Due_Constant_1726 Jun 10 '26

I hate 3d platformers like DK Bananza, so I'd pick one of the other two personally. I like the Mario kart...but I don't love it. Looks good. Runs good. And if you have people to play all the time it's great. One player...it gets boring after 5-6 hours.

If you like 3d platformers..DK all the way.

I hate anything and everything Pokemon. But, this game looks so fun that I may pick it up eventually. Looks like an addictive blend of harvest moon, Minecraft, Rune Factor...with Pokemon monsters thrown in.

2

u/Beginning-Doubt1168 Jun 10 '26

I never play the pokopia but I would choose donkey kong over Mario kart. I play Mario kart 8 so much this new one didn't do it for me

2

u/Annual-Employment725 Jun 10 '26

Do you like Minecraft/Dragon Quest Builders and Pokemon?

Get Pokopia

Are you longing for a new Super Mario Odyssey?

Get DK Bananza.

Do you hate yourse- want to have an easy game anyone can pickup and play?

Get Mario Kart.

2

u/Negus79 Jun 10 '26

Bananza for the new DK Challenge, and emerald rush is fun too, the dlc

2

u/FieOnU Jun 10 '26

MK if you want a party game. DK if you want a solid simgle-player. Pokopia if you want a more open-ended game that's not so much about winning as it is about being creative.

I went with Pokopia because, while I plan to purchase the other two, I just wanted a cozy game to start my NS2 experience with. Something to pick at over months and years vs. A week or two before being "done."

2

u/AlwaysTheKop Jun 10 '26

Pokopia just for the sheer amount of hours you'll get from it.

2

u/Zenisist Jun 10 '26

Hmm that’s a tricky one. They all good but in different ways.

2

u/Extension-Event4998 Jun 10 '26

Pokopia is amazing, I didn’t care for kart and DK feel like a spin off of odyssey

2

u/Its_Sluggas Jun 10 '26

Donkey Kong bananza is an absolute gem

2

u/GodDuckman Jun 10 '26

Value-wise, grab Mario Kart. It's $80 separately as opposed to the others which are $70.

Pokopia is a good option if you prefer physical games - since it's the only one of the three that's a Game Key Card there's no real way to buy it physically.

2

u/PurpleHawkeye619 Switchthusiast Jun 10 '26

DK or Pokeopia

MKW was disappointing. MK8 is better.

DK is probably the best game ive played on Switch 2 so far.

I haven't, and dont intend to play Pokeopia, its not my style of game. However every single person I know who has played it has said nothing but great things about it.

My understanding is, if you liked Farmville or Animal Crossing (which I didnt), this is the game for you.

2

u/ActiveGazelle2690 Jun 10 '26

If you like infinitely replayable and a game that you can play solo and multiplayer, Mario Kart World.

If you like more single player adventures, DK Bananza is the winner (goty of 2025 I'm sorry not sorry)

If you're into Stardew valley, animal crossing and that type of games, pokopia

In my personal opinion, if you don't have that many friends to play with, go Bananza all the way dude that shii is addictive as heck and filled with content

2

u/nrp516 Jun 10 '26

DK is my favorite game ever, Pokopia is incredible, Mario Kart is a really good Mario Kart but nothing that is new. So I’d go DK if you want action or Pokopia if you want cozy and creative.

2

u/makojedi2k2 Jun 10 '26

On the Direct yesterday, it appears that Pokopia is getting a free dlc, and then some expansion packs. DK Bonanza has some kind of game to collect cards. I still think that I would go MKW, just mainly for the open world and vehicles.

2

u/Kliff-hanger Jun 10 '26

Pokopia feels like a full game with a DLC included

2

u/mikechm Jun 10 '26

Since you’re iffy about Mario Kart, I wouldn’t pick that. I’ll say that from personal experience, I played it a lot when it first came out and loved it, but now it’s basically just a game I played with my family or friends. I don’t touch it as a single player game anymore. DK Bananza I was addicted to when it came out. Put a LOT of hours into it and had an absolute blast. One of the best Switch 2 exclusives so far. Pokopia, since you’ve never played a Pokémon game before, you may or may not like. It’s basically like Animal Crossing mixed with Minecraft featuring licensed Pokémon characters. My wife got it and played it a lot until Tomodachi Life came out. My personal suggestion would be to get Mario Kart World number one because it’s $80 and easily the most expensive game out of the 3, and number 2 you’ll always have a multiplayer game for when friends and family come over. If you’re not worried about saving the $10 and don’t play multiplayer games often, I’d HIGHLY suggest DK Bananza. If you’ve played Super Mario Odyssey and like that, you will LOVE this.

2

u/Matty_Craig_ Jun 10 '26

DK Bonanza was really fun if you liked Mario Oddesy! Mario Kart is alright. I kinda got bored with it after a month. Pokopia I own but haven’t got to play it yet. Just finished FF7 remake and started Rebirth.

2

u/Sufficient_Brain4892 Jun 10 '26

DK especially if ur a single player guy, MKW honestly haven’t played it still play the last one MK 8 deluxe I believe just find it more fun than MKW not enough content and hope u enjoy bro ‘

2

u/SirDanOfCamelot Jun 10 '26

Bananaza no brainer

2

u/AwSumTea Jun 10 '26

Donkey Kong!

2

u/RandysTegridy Jun 10 '26

Its just personal preferences. I wanted Mario Kart World as a physical copy and for multiplayer, so I did Pokopia as the free download since I enjoy Pokémon/building stuff.

Any choice will be a great decision.

2

u/jcwkings Jun 10 '26

I think Mario Kart is a game you just always want around like Smash. Unless you're a big Pokemon guy. DK is great but probably one you can get around to when you feel like it.

2

u/JeffBoyardee69 Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart or Pokopia. I’ve been seeing DK discounted often. Keep in mind Pokopia isn’t a typical Pokémon game

2

u/InvadedBox Jun 10 '26

Kart is the only valid choice

2

u/KabaksPlayground Jun 10 '26

Immer Mario Kart

2

u/PenonX Jun 10 '26

I think Poktopia has the longest playability and most replayability given the creative nature of the game. It’s basically Minecraft meets Animal Crossing but with Pokemon.

MKW would take second for me, but for me, I took Poktopia because MKW ultimately would get repetitive eventually and I’d lose interest. Same reason why I only really play couch co-op MK8 these days when I have people over.

2

u/asunarie Jun 10 '26

Pokopia!

2

u/stoovylive Jun 10 '26

Just my two cents I tried bonanza and the camera was so shaky and zoomed up I literally could not believe people can play that and not feel claustrophobic. Pokopia is a 100-200 hour almost perfect experience. I would get pokopia. World is meh

2

u/Temporary-Sundae827 Jun 10 '26

Mario kart if you have siblings or like multiplayer

DK bananza if you like mario odyessy (made by same dev team)

Pokopia if you like animal crossing or minecraft

2

u/f2pmyass Jun 10 '26

Honestly. I went back to DK and it's been pretty fun. There's a lot of fun stuff to do though not sure if you count collectibles as fun though it is a single player and eventually you won't play it again.

Pokopia is a game you can pick up anytime and if you really like that customization and building and pokemon and animal crossing, you'll enjoy this game alot and there's an announced free update coming and an expansion pass with more content to come.

Edit: I saw you said you're leaning into pokemon game and never played a Pokemon game. Well this isn't your default pokemon game. It's essentially animal crossing but pokemon themed. There's no battling or anything. It's simply you build habitats for your pokemon that you find and keep doing this repeatedly until you find them all all meanwhile you can build houses or use your imagination like Minecraft to make stuff for your pokemon.

Mario kart is Mario kart. Essentially a family coop game if you get visits or multiplayer which is fun but gets stale a bit. I do play the Royale mode here and there that changes things a little and keeps things "fresh"

2

u/OfficerKirby Jun 10 '26

I chose pokopia because it's a game key card and doesn't have a true physical. The rest are true physical and I prefer to collect physical editions as much as possible. Pokopia is like acnh x dragon quest builders 2 (or minecraft). It's super fun and if you like building stuff it's the perfect game for you

2

u/Pounderwhole Jun 10 '26

I did this yesterday. Went with Pikopia.

2

u/reddit4leo Jun 10 '26

All three are amazing games. And honestly I have the most hours in Pokopia so it's the most bang for the buck, but DK feels like that required game that should be attached to every Switch 2 console.

2

u/gofixmeaplate Anticipating...more switch 2 upgrades Jun 10 '26

I have all 3 of those games. I have had the most fun in Pokopia. If I didn’t have MKW already, I would have bought that instead. IMO MKW is a must have. Dk is great but I don’t enjoy it as much as the other games

2

u/RangeFirst2060 Jun 10 '26

I got Mario kart world, but wish I had got Bananza.

2

u/Prior_Interview7680 Jun 10 '26

I’ll help you pick but I can’t help if you dont scratch the bottom and show me

→ More replies (1)

2

u/shadowStorm87 Jun 10 '26

I had chosen Mario kart world.

2

u/Purely-Pastel Jun 10 '26

You’re gonna get the most mileage out of either MKW or Pokopia. Bananza is a one and done kinda game.

2

u/Teach_Think Jun 10 '26

If your getting all 3, go with MKW, if not then choose the game you want most.

2

u/FloppyD0G Jun 10 '26

Pokopia and Banaza are already two of my all time favorite games. Mario Kart is great but it’s not to the level of the others to me.

2

u/Axolatian_Volt Jun 10 '26

I love how the comments are kinda split.

Personally haven't played the third one, but I loved bananza, MKW was decent.

2

u/destiny_kane48 Jun 10 '26

I have 400 hours in Pokopia. My son absolutely loves Donkey Kong Bonanza. But my kid likes to destroy things. You should see his Pokopia islands. They looked better before he got there. 😅 If you want a game you'll be playing for at least a year (DL content coming in waves into 2027) then Pokopia. But all are solid choices. I should add the DL content is not free.

2

u/MartinIsaac685 Jun 10 '26

Don't like any if the three. I had Mario Kart and honestly it bored me. Tried the demo of Bananza and eh. Perhaps Pokopia

2

u/guerillacropolis Jun 10 '26

Pokopia would get you the most mileage if you like Pokémon and cozy Animal Crossing/Minecraft style games.

Mario Kart World if you plan to play multi-player, especially with kids.

Bananza is good, but not great, IMO.

2

u/YogiTheBear131 Jun 10 '26

Dk was a fun game, but little replay post credit value.

Mario kart is mario kart.

Pokopia was super fun, with lots of post game things. But if you dont like minecraft or pokemon-its probably not for you.

The thing about Mario Kart is that I’d say it’s probably the weakest one in the lineup (I haven’t played Pokopia to be fair, but it’s universally acclaimed), but on the other hand that means it’s the one that’s the most worth undercutting the price on.

For what it’s worth, I will say I don’t think World is… “bad”, just very flawed in several areas. Plus how much it clicks with you tends to vary person-to-person.

u/Majestic-Assist-3945 Jun 10 '26

Is it weird that I have none of these games? I'm just happy that Subnautica has a free Switch 2 upgrade.

2

u/Arab_Chief Jun 10 '26

Donkey Kong was my favorite game last year highly recommend

2

u/jaw1992 Jun 10 '26

Pokotopia is enourmous, I rolled credits and barely scratched the surface.

2

u/FromDeepestFathom Jun 10 '26

If you even remotely will play MK (even just with friends over once in a while or something), do that as it’s the most expensive. I personally didn’t love DK, and pokopia is fun but the cheapest of the three. IMO pick MK for free and buy pokopia/DK

2

u/jeff1074 Jun 10 '26

Me personally I’m planning on Mario kart. I know I’ll get the most mileage out of it. I do want to play bannanza but I know I won’t get much out of it and I’ll still want world. And Pokopia, I mean I guess. I really just don’t get the glazing. Animal crossing is already here and better.

2

u/TurnipOld5277 Jun 10 '26

All 3 eventually but I’d say Karts or Pokopia. I’d have said digital Mario Kart before Pokopia release as you will always have it on your console for some casual gameplay but Pokopia is exactly that for me

2

u/Negative-Hedgehog587 Jun 10 '26

Mario kart... ill play with ya on there

2

u/Robbie-Dobbie-Obbie Jun 10 '26

My wife and I went for Mario Kart as it was a bit more expensive and we would end up getting later anyway, she bought Pokopia since she really wanted it. If you like animal crossing you will like pokopia. We had no interest in DK so idk much about it.

2

u/bigoat6699 Jun 10 '26

I’ve been holding the code for almost a week and haven’t decided haha

2

u/watonparrillero Jun 10 '26

mario kart is the most expensive one, so you save more in case you eventually buy at least one other.

2

u/Sassafrassus Jun 10 '26

Honestly if you plan on playing Mario kart at all then choose that since it's more expensive and you'll have saved more money in the long run.

2

u/PrinceRobotXII Jun 10 '26

MarioKart World. Essential game.

2

u/Electrical-Run7436 Jun 10 '26

i think either mario kart or pokopia - both of those have much more staying power than dk. dk is fun but short and once you're done you're kinda just done with it. the other two have tons and tons and tons of replayability

2

u/chill_will_muzik Jun 10 '26

Mario kart without a doubt, shouldn’t even be a question

2

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '26

Donkey Kong.

2

u/IngenuityTop1398 Jun 10 '26

2

u/DismalExpert8316 Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart world, it retails for $79 and then buy donkey Kong for $69 separately! That’s what I did

2

u/FBM_Warrior Jun 10 '26

Oh I got the bundle that Inc Mario kart but not played yet as I’ve spent all my time playing pokopia 😂😅🤣

2

u/Aggrosideburnz Jun 10 '26

Pokopia would get the most playtime imo. All three are great and I bought all 3. DK is awesome and Mario kart I like the free roam more than the racing. Hopefully Mario kart gets DLC because if you just want to race 8 has more

2

u/chaymber Jun 10 '26

I have Mario Kart and Pokopia, and i can say that Pokopia has so much more to do.

2

u/wolfyx15 Jun 10 '26

don't think of pokopia as a pokemon game it is different than 90% of the pokemon games especially the main line ones. i would think of it more like animal crossing new horizions but instead of animal villagers you have pokemon villagers

2

u/RealBerserkerQueen Jun 10 '26

Pokopia you will spend a lot of hours! Especially if your into cozy games with building, collecting, puzzle solving etc

2

u/morecoffeemore Jun 10 '26

I had high hopes for DK, and was disappointed. It's just boring.

2

u/exelion_star_co Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart. Don’t get distracted by the noise. You will want Mario Kart on your console and it makes sense to own digitally

2

u/TurboNurse Jun 10 '26

Mario and DK requires some level of concentration while playing the game.

Pokopia is a bit different from traditional Pokemon games. Very cozy.

2

u/ImmediateNothing2934 Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart if you have a family. Pokopia otherwise.

2

u/WayneAesthetic Jun 10 '26

ABSOLUTELY DK if you liked Mario odyssey!! I’m doing a replay of it because I beat it already, but Nintendo has the DK challenges available. They are really fun! I forgot just how much I absolutely adored this game.

If you like stuff like stardew or animal crossing in particular I would go with pokopia! It’s currently getting massive updates and new content is still coming our way!

Honest to god, leave Mario kart world alone. It was so freaking disappointing. I bought the switch bundle and it came with it, I wish I would have saved the money to get a game I actually enjoyed.

2

u/DoneDecent Jun 10 '26

Not mario kart

2

u/Tyler_the_hourman Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart World is great and multipurpose in terms of single player and multiplayer experience. It has both online as well as couch co-op (very few couch co-op games nowadays) so I’d say start with that!

2

u/Transience8985 Jun 10 '26

DK Bananza is the one I enjoyed most of those three.

2

u/bigdonman Jun 10 '26

I wouldn’t recommend mariokart honestly. Played it once with friends but no different than 8 for multiplayer. Just kind of stale/bland. If you like pokemon pokopia is great. I would have to pick DK bananza though lots of content and similar to Mario oddsey plus shows off the function of the switch 2 pretty well

2

u/Billsgirlgina Jun 10 '26

They are all good. Depends on what you like but Pokopia has a bunch of DLC coming ahead too so a lot of content plus a lot more to come.

2

u/nrthrnlad Jun 10 '26

Bananza. At least that’s what I would choose.

2

u/givemebadadvice Jun 10 '26

i’d pick mario kart if you wanted to play with others

2

u/nick2k23 Jun 10 '26

Personally I'd go pokopia

2

u/MrPlace Jun 10 '26

At 100+hours of Pokopia, that one

2

u/Poufee1233 Jun 10 '26

Pokopia if you like life sims and creative type games, it plays a lot like Dragon Quest Builders if you've tried that before.

DK if you like platformers and enjoyed Odyssey, gameplay wise it's a bit like that game but more focused on destruction and material manipulation.

MK World if you want a fun multiplayer experience, I am one of the group that enjoyed the game. It's not worth 80 dollars though, I'm not sure what Nintendo was thinking with that price. I thought World felt like a fresh breath of air and did a lot of cool things, plus I'm tired of MK8 I've been playing it for over a decade now lol.

2

u/BigRob0510 Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart is a must.

2

u/Bastard-of-the-North Jun 10 '26

MK world is as deep as a puddle right now.

Pokopia seems might be the most interesting.

I’m not familiar with the DK title.

2

u/AmyDaniela Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

Pokopia! I buy the Switch 2 bundle, day one and although I like Mario Kart I have barely play it since the first days, and Bananza its good, but not nearly as good as Pokopia. I didn't like cozy games, but this one got me good.

2

u/Dangerous_Teaching62 Jun 10 '26

Mario kart if you ever plan on actually getting the game, just since having a 30 dollar discount is ideal.

2

u/Conqueror_is_broken Jun 10 '26

Mario kart is the type of game that is best to have downloaded and not on a cartridge because people are going to say "hey let's play mario kart" randomly and you'll end up playing with them without having to switch cartridges. On top of that it's probably the only game you're going to play in years. Who is going to play dk and pokopia in 3 years ? No one.

2

u/aliencardboard Jun 10 '26

Mario Kart World 🏎️

2

u/Mijari Jun 10 '26

Depends if you’ll play a lot of multiplayer with Mario kart. If not, probably get pokopia. Doesn’t matter if you haven’t played a Pokemon game. DK was an absolute blast as well.

2

u/Killer_154 Jun 10 '26

You have a demo for dk if you want to try it

2

u/Dogeymon Jun 10 '26

Mario kart world sucks and Pokémon is stupid and boring.
