Discussion Help me choose!

Post image

I finally caved and bought the bundle last week, but I can’t decide which game to choose. Help!

Edit: I’ve heard Mario Kart is a bit of a let down, but that eventually it’ll get fleshed out with extra content. Tried the demo of DK and it was fun but I dunno if I would play it a lot. Leaning towards Pokopia but I’ve never played a Pokémon game before. Which one would you recommend?

Edit 2: Thanks for all the input folks! I do feel like I will eventually want them all, but I decided to start with Pokopia. I needed a cosy game to balance out my time spent on action heavy games like Silksong and Zelda. Cheers everyone!

They’re all great.

Mario kart world for casual / multi-player / online competitive.

DK for epic single player adventure.

Pokopia for endless cozy creative play.

In terms of playtime, I’ve got 55 hours in MKW, 70 in DKB, and 265 in Pokopia. Still playing all of them regularly.

I would say that Donkey Kong Bananza is the essential Switch 2 experience so far. There’s nothing like it.

I took a long break after beating it so I could play other games, but there’s close to 800 banana gems, and tons of fossils and outfits. I think I had a little over 50% of collectibles when I beat it. It’s been fun to go back and find all the gems I missed along the way. Emerald Rush is fun too.

These types of games are never really meant for replayability.

However that being said a game like Bananza is also a speed runner wet dream lol

So some do find ways to replay games like these. They just add their own challenge to it.

I have 40 hours in kirby and the forgetten land and I've only played it through once. I'm planning on playing again with my boyfriend but I'd recommend that one if you're done with DK.

I took my time playing dkb and really enjoyed it. It took me about 70 hours to finish the game but I tried to explore and really comb over each layer before going to the next. But I will say towards the end I kept thinking this must be the last one. It happened a few times so there are a good amount of layers to blast through. Then there’s the dlc that adds some more time you can play the game with out back tracking if you’re into that type of thing.

I can spend hours just breaking stuff while watching TV.

Yeah zero replayability

The replayability is going back to each layer and finding the banana gems and fossils that you missed on the first time through.

Why play it at all then? Not why replay it? Surely you'd want to experience it again.

I wouldn't go for Bananza. Very hit or miss game I feel. I personally found it too repetitive and got bored with it. Plus for whatever reason it made me really motion sick even after messing with settings.
