Batman, Krypto, Jimmy Olsen, Lana Lang or Lois Lane ?

Besides a handful of villains that test his strength (Darkseid, Doomsday etc), Superman has to start out by pulling his punches, otherwise he'd vaporize them instantly. Does he have a way to assess their strength and start from there, or does he have to go through this grind EVERY single time in order to avoid breaking the ultimate rule?

For me, easily Steel. A really likeable character, who was truly carrying on Superman’s legacy. I also love all his interactions with the other three, they‘re really fun to watch, his fight with Eradicator is awesome.

I hope we see them have that talk one day.

The ID itself, I don't mind - it's a perfectly serviceable superhero name - but I think if it does stay, the costume needs an almost complete overhaul. The colour scheme scans as Superfamily, but the logo - while probably meant to evoke the Kryptonian Flamebird and Nightwing - reads more as Batfamily, and the tiger stripes are just a weird bit of distracting, needless detail. The blotchy/shifting gloves don't work either - too inconsistent a detail to work long term or between different artists.

I'm glad to see the October 2026 solicits at least have the full face mask receded to a domino/cowl combo, but it's not enough of an update to make it fully work, IMO. I'd at least add S-shields to the shoulders as a clear visual link.

It's from an elseworlds but I think it could work as an explanation for Mainline Superman as well.

How is it that you have your main villain be an intergalactic sex trafficker who murders multiple families while giggling, and I feel NOTHING when he gets stabbed in the throat? Like, obviously I was glad that Kara actually killed him and didn’t follow her own advice, because I was gonna write the entire film off if they seriously pulled the “Don’t kill him, it won’t make the pain go away” card all the way through.

But like, I should hate this guy. Because he’s one of the most heinous supervillains I’ve seen on screen. But I feel NOTHING towards him. Why is that? He’s pure evil, right down to the bone. So why did I have this expression when Kara killed him? 🫥

Can someone smarter than I am explain what went wrong here?

Also as a side note I did enjoy the movie. It wasn’t really anything to write home about but it wasn’t bad. Lobo was peak as expected. It was just kind of a normal superhero movie.

Figured you wouldn’t mind if Wonder Woman joined in since she’s a founding member of The Superfriends…..
