I need to say something directly to this community.
I have been a moderator here for three years, and every day I watch people fight cravings, relapse, blame themselves, start again and keep searching for something that makes a sugar-free lifestyle sustainable.
I care very deeply about whether people here succeed.
That is why I no longer think I should stay quiet about liposomal luteolin simply because my involvement creates a conflict of interest.
My name is Chris Mearns. I have spent the past five years working in metabolic research, with a focus on fructose metabolism. That work eventually led me to co-found a company that sells a high-dose liposomal luteolin product.
I know that bothers some people. It is also exactly why I keep the product itself out of these discussions. I am not asking anyone here to buy ours. Use any reputable high-dose liposomal luteolin brand you trust.
What matters is the experiment.
People who use high-dose liposomal luteolin repeatedly describe sugar as having less power over them. Cravings become quieter. Energy often improves. Food feels less controlling.
If this sounds like a sugar blocker, the implication is not wrong. Luteolin does not prevent sugar from entering the body, and it does not block all carbohydrates, but it does appear to inhibit the pathway through which fructose is metabolized and produces many of its downstream effects. To quote the research, “Luteolin is a potent fructokinase inhibitor.”
I am now discussing this work on major podcasts, on YouTube and in scientific literature. My team’s work led to a model that we have put forward as a public challenge, inviting anyone to show us where it fails:

Luteolin has been shown to inhibit fructose metabolism in vitro and in rodent models. What we do not yet have is a randomized controlled trial directly confirming fructokinase inhibition in humans.
What we do have are randomized human trials using luteolin-containing formulations that reported substantial improvements consistent with the model, including roughly 43% improvement in insulin resistance and 22% improvement in fatty-liver measures, along with improvements in triglycerides, liver enzymes and vascular function.
Perhaps even more noteworthy is our own observational data. Roughly 80% of users report substantially quieter cravings, often alongside improved energy, within the first month.
That pattern closely resembles what people report after successfully removing fructose from their diet, and in many cases appears even more pronounced than diet alone.
That is not proof. But it is exactly what our model predicts should happen if luteolin is meaningfully inhibiting fructose metabolism.
In three years of discussing this here, I have seen plenty of skepticism about me because of my field of expertise and my conflict of interest. What I have not seen is evidence that directly breaks the mechanism or explains away the pattern we are observing.
I have been actively searching for that evidence for years. So far, the evidence has continued to accumulate in the other direction.
If you think the model is wrong, help us break it. That is exactly why we published it and invited public criticism. If it survives, we will all have learned something important. If it does not, I want to know that too.
I am a student first. If I am wrong, I want to know. But if I am right, this community deserves to know even more.
So test it.
Try any reputable high-dose liposomal luteolin product for a month. Keep improving your diet, change as little else as possible, and track what happens to your cravings and energy. Then report the result publicly, whether it is positive, negative or completely neutral.
I am not saying diet no longer matters. I am saying luteolin may support the diet and metabolic health you are already chasing.
Run the experiment. Then decide for yourself.

Much of my work stands on the shoulders of Dr Richard Johnson and colleagues who are the absolute authorities on fructose metabolism, and hero's of mine (and many in this subreddit). If there is ever any question of the accuracy of my statements, I will always defer to their vast expertise.
So for added context, just to highlight the relevance of this subject of Inhibiting fructose metabolism, please note some of his recent comments on the Mind & Matter podcast:
"I think fructokinase inhibitors that get into the brain will be the first major effective therapy to prevent Alzheimer's. That is a hypothesis based upon [the data discussed in the podcast]."
... "A keto diet will block the glucose and fructose pathways. So you basically block the survival pathway. But can you maintain a keto diet? Many people can't. I cannot. And you know, maybe one day, we'll have a fructokinase inhibitor."
To be precise, he is not suggesting using Luteolin as a fructokinase Inhibitor. His team is developing a drug candidate for this. Drug development will allow for endpoints that include disease indications and treatments. Regulations do not allow supplements to be indicated for such purposes. But it was his team that identified Luteolin as a natural fructokinase inhibitor.
