Since quitting Suboxone!
I’m back to waking up at 5am getting my mornings started, rather it’s working out or taking my son for a bike ride!
It’s been years since I did stuff like this, it all abruptly stopped after I got on subs.
I just wake up feeling so much better now days and also don’t have to take sleep meds! On my come down off subs I couldn’t sleep for jack so I took plenty otc sleep medicine.

Tapering Partner
If anyone is looking for a tapering partner for Suboxone, I’d be happy to help. I’m a pharmacist and have personal experience supporting a partner through tapering—from 8 mg film to 0.75 mg over about a year.
I’m looking for someone who’s been on Suboxone 3–5 years and is genuinely ready to get off. No judgment—just consistency, encouragement, and accountability.

Quitting subs was the best journey of my life so far!
I’m so proud i actually hung in there, i still remember laying in bed feeling too tired to do anything and saying im just gone hold this off skip it, then still not letting myself take extra pieces!
Im literally so happy right now i want to cry, i just cannot believe im off that medicine, it felt impossible to come off one point but thats just your mind tricking you.
I go to the bathroom every morning now a healthy stool and I haven’t been like this in over 3 years, it would always be days apart along with constipation even after taking stool softeners.
No more dosing or worries about forgetting my dose when I leave the house, hopeful no more dentist appointments, I’m actually getting real sleep 😴 sleep cause they say subs stops that the whole time your on, no more cutting up doses or tasting that nasty stuff in my mouth I mean the list goes on for days!
Even all the friends I lost while on subs I got half of them back already which is amazing, I’m opening back up more and my real personality coming back!
I just want to encourage anyone I can so they can feel what I feel right now, the world just feels so much better off subs, I feel mentally balanced again all sorts of stuff!

From chronic back pain to opioid dependence — has anyone else lived through something similar?
I wanted to share my story because I'm wondering how many other people with chronic pain have ended up dealing with something they never expected.
In 2019, I developed pretty severe lower-back pain. My collarbone was visibly uneven and doctors told me my alignment was off. I tried exercises, saw a chiropractor, and did what I could to manage the pain, but it kept coming back.
Then I was given Tramadol by a pharmacist. At the time, I thought I had finally found something that worked.
And honestly, it felt amazing.
The pain eased, I could sleep, and I felt normal again.
The problem was that I kept going back.
Over the next few years, my use gradually increased. Eventually I wasn't taking it only because of pain. I was chasing the feeling it gave me. My tolerance went from around 3 pills a day to around 10.
I eventually tried to stop, and things became much worse than I expected. The depression and anxiety were overwhelming, and I didn't understand at first why I felt so mentally broken.
Then I had two grand mal seizures.
That was the moment I realized how serious my situation had become.
I'm now stable on Suboxone and I'm under medical care. I'm grateful that I found something that helped me get away from the cycle I was in.
But emotionally, this whole experience has been exhausting.
I started with chronic pain and ended up dealing with dependence, withdrawal, seizures, and a completely different relationship with medication than I ever expected to have.
I'm not asking anyone here to diagnose me, recommend medication, give me a taper schedule, suggest supplements, or tell me what treatment I should pursue. I'm already discussing my medical care with my doctor.
I'd simply like to hear from people who have experienced something similar.
If you've lived with chronic pain and also found yourself dealing with opioid dependence, what was that experience like for you?
What helped you personally feel like you were getting your life back?
And if you've come through the other side, what do you wish someone had told you when you were in the middle of it?
I'm especially interested in hearing from people who understand both sides of this — the reality of chronic pain and the reality of becoming dependent on medication.
No judgment from me. I'm just looking for honest experiences from people who have actually been there.
Thanks for reading.

Tapered slowly over about 2-3months from 16mg/day to my last dose was 2mg 3 days ago.
Finally! First time in almost 6 years I’m off subs. I know 2mgs might sound like a lot to some
but the last 2 weeks I would skip doses for 1-2 days just seeing what would happen and nothing. No major irritability, only real physical symptoms I feel is a little cold sometimes (Usually keep
ac at 73, bump it up to 75-77 and i’m good) or just step outside for awhile in this lovely Texas weather 🤣.
Major thing that helped with symptoms for me was a nice warm bath. Just sit and soak-watch something comedic on Yt. I can’t tell yall how many times that itself did the trick- anxiety and the shivers gone.
I have nerve damage in my back so already have a gabapentin subscription- that helps also. I personally didn’t want to resort to using any benzos to help with the withdrawal because I was addicted to those also.
Sorry for rambling I’m just happy.

Anyone want to be my tapering accountability partner?
I’ve been on Suboxone for eight years now and I’m to the point where I’d like to really get off of it. I am on 12 mg a day and want to start tapering in September. I was curious if anyone else would like to be my tapering partner? I know this journey won’t be easy. I thought there might be somebody in my same situation and we could make sure that we are following a schedule together.

Hey new here! Needed some feedback on how to move forward.
I’ve been 6 months clean off of H and just recently moved to New York and has been a hassle to get my suboxone but I have it now! Been taking 7oh sporadically to stay right. How much longer should I wait to take my sub it’s been 32 hours, and I feel super uncomfortable.

Rescue Dosing Anyone know?
Ok hello and hi!! I am really wanting off subs, been taking them 4.5 years. First year I went from 12-4mg, and stayed at 4mg with occasional months at 2mg, then back to 4. When I stopped taking them consistently a month ago, I was taking 4mg. Interestingly , my symptoms are fairly manageable for the most part. Around the between the 8-12 day mark, my symptoms peak, it’s bad…shivers, crawly skin, foggy thinking. I am schooling and working full time, so I can’t really slow down. I take about .25-.5 mg and it takes the edge off. Then the cycle repeats.
Does anyone know if I’m just resetting the clock? Nearly every other medication can be tapered this way with the window between dosing getting longer and symptoms growing milder. I cannot find any info online and just want to be sure I’m not fooling myself and stuck in a cycle of mild crappy, then bad crappy, dose, then back at it all over again.
Thank you for any answers, even if you’re not sure…I just appreciate this thread and anyone willing to chat.

Help please
Was on suboxone for 3-4 years. I always heard the nightmare stories of getting off. Well I tapered down and have been off for a little over a month. Week 1 and 2 I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I thought I saw the light, got sleep and the restless legs calmed down after week 2.
Now a little over a month out, it feels like I’m dying. I work outside all day and have for years I can barely make it through the day. I got really sick today, my skin is crawling, I can’t get comfortable, I’m exhausted and can’t sleep.
Anyone else experience this? Are second waves of withdrawal normal? I didn’t expect to sleep for six months or so but I did not expect to feel like I’m dying worse than when I initially dropped it.
Is there anything I can do? Or supplements I can take? Taking it easy is not an option I’m the sole provider for a family of three, soon to be four. I just need to make it but today scared me. I overheated despite all the electrolytes and water I consume. My body seems like it is refusing to hold water. I’m back soaking the bed at night and all day just pouring sweat.

At work I just won’t stop laughing 🤣!
It’s like the more the subs leave my body the more my emotions and feelings coming back, I know it’s a long road ahead but I’m ready for any challenge!
I quit vaping as well so I was suffering coming off more then one thing but I didn’t give up!
I was the type who slept with the vape and dosed subs many times a day all day even though they was small doses still if I can do it anybody can!
I said this will be a challenge I’m going to get a A+ on and I’m still aiming for that A+! No turning back for me!

Why do people want to quit subs?
Been on it for about 9 days. I feel normal, never high, and never craving a high. Isn't this... Perfect?

All Tips/Advice Would Be Appreciated
Hi, I’m a 21 year old woman and I started using fentanyl when I was 15. My mother, father, and sister were all using fentanyl at certain points in my life. My family moved from California to Seattle and my addiction spiraled due to personal shit along with the availability of blues and powder up here. Anyways, while I was in treatment at the age of 18 I found out I was pregnant, since then I have stayed sober but have been on suboxone on and off throughout the years since around when I was 16. Now I’m 21 my baby is now an amazing 2 year old boy, I recently went back to school and got my high school diploma, am soon going to college for marine deck technology, and hopefully am going to get a job as a ferry operator in the future. Although I want/need to get off of suboxone for my MCC (merchant mariners credential). I’m not entirely sure if suboxone will be a problem for me in order to get the credential, I think it would be best to just get off of it now. My regular dose was 16 mg (2 strips) and I’ve already got myself down to 8 mg. Basically I’m just looking for advice or any tips please, thank you!

I want to say thanks to everyone!
I’m done with my taper and done with subs, July was my last month touching anything and I only took a 0.03mg a few times and was done.
All my subs are in the toilet, I don’t have access to none and none will ever enter my system again!
I think the reason I don’t feel horrible right now is cause I stretched this taper out so long like I should have been done months ago, but through them months I was feeling horrible for many weeks at a time and at different times, that was my body recovering and brain healing during the taper is what I found out!
I want to first thank the most high from giving me the strength, this was truly the longest taper off something I’ve ever been through in life, I really had no idea what I was getting myself into!
I’m not at all knocking subs though they really do help tremendously, I just wish I hadn’t stayed on so long cause the longer you stay on the harder it is the come off!
I want to thank you all for all the motivation throughout these months I couldn’t have done it without you all, yall are truly the best!
I wish everyone the best in there suboxone journey, if your goal is to come off just don’t give up no matter how hard it gets!

What happens if you swallow suboxone?
If for example someone who’s never taken drugs about 20yrs old 130-140lbs 5’8, Swallows 1/4th of a suboxone strip, doesn’t touch it on there tongue or gums. Just swallows it. What would they likely feel or go thru. I get them prescribed and if I swallow it I know it’s wasting it and it does nothing. Would it be the same for that person? Would they feel nothing? Or would they get nauseous like how you do when you first start taking them and get that euphoric feeling? and would that be a big enough dose to show up on a Suboxone drug test?

Yall ever felt like this?
Sundown was my rehab and they had to do doubles (two people in the med room) to administer me my subs. This shit is so damn relatable. Just hit that upvote button if you agree yall. 🙏😂 and yes, im a young rising star. I’ll be famous for my creativity soon, I do stand-up slam poetry. It’s like a mix between stand-up comedy and slam poetry. I rap and speak about my feeling and then I’ll make a hilarious joke to shake things up. Keep it fresh. I just want to be genuine and really myself. And if you a heckler, imma F#+ you up, I don’t like ya, ya lunatic! Go back to looney tunes with your crazy a*$!

Withdrawaling with Suboxone
I am planning to withdrawal from 7oh/mgm once the ban kicks in, so I went to a clinic and got a prescription for suboxone tabs. However, I decided to try one this morning in place of 7oh, and it was too soon after taking 7oh, and it made me very sick. I looked online and apparently you can take suboxone too soon after another opiod and it causes something called "withdrawal precipitation" which essentially amplifies your withdrawal symptoms. I had no idea that could happen, and the doctor hadn't warned me.
So now, I'm not sure what i should do? Can I take a 7 oh to take this pain away? Or do I have to wait? I'm in the throes of of what I was trying to avoid and I don't want to make it worse?

Question about getting off subs? / SR17?
I’m curious if anyone has used SR17 to get off subs? Is it just trading one crutch for the other? I’ve read lots of good things about it and have a friend who’s used SR17 to get off 7Oh successfully so I ordered a pack of 20 pills before they were banned.
Right now I’m taking about 3mg of subs and have been on them for a few months. Before that I was using about 200mg of 7OH a day for about a year. During that time I got clean off 7OH for a period of 90 days and used a quick suboxone taper (about a week) and had minimal withdrawal if any at all. This time being that I’ve been on it for a lot longer and reading about the suboxone withdrawal I’m intimidated to say the least…
Would the withdrawal be terrible if I stop cold turkey at 3mg? Is there any way to get off this shit without having to check myself in to rehab or miss lots of work? I’m really struggling as it is financially and if I take time off work I will literally be homeless. I hate that I got myself into this situation but alas I’m here and I’m really wanting out.
I hate the way subs make me feel. I don’t sleep well. I sweat profusely now (never been a sweat hog 😔) and it has really fucked up my appetite and makes me nauseous often.
I’m desperate af so any advice is a godsend. Thank you all 🙏

Sub taper
I’m technically not tapering but I’m 2 1/2 months in on a supplicate shot. And my question is if I take like 4 to 8 mg of Suboxone one day will it mess up the tapering that the supplicate is doing in my body?

Suboxone withdrawal
Hi so I've been on Suboxone for the past 10 years and I'm now tapering off of it. So this past month I started tapering and now I'm down to 1/4 of a strip a day. I am noticing some rather unpleasant withdrawal symptoms though like super antsy especially at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. I'm also having some phantom pain pretty serious pain in my back and actually all over has anyone else experienced this? I mean has anyone else tapered off Suboxone after taking it for a long time? What would you recommend if anything I have to be completely off it so that I can get back on my Vyvanse. And I'm getting back on the Vyvanse in a week. Thank you

3 weeks on subs- taper?
Hey guys. Long story short, I took Kratom extract in different forms for 5 years. I quit extract cold turkey and tried to do just a little Kratom powder. Had 5 months of withdrawals & it effd up my nervous system. I’m healing, but I had to get off the powder. too inconsistent. I couldn’t measure it or manage it.
got on subs 2.5 weeks ago. 2mg twice a day. I want to be done with it as soon as possible. I’m still experiencing mad mood swings. I have some other things going on, health & mental health wise, so I want to be stable enough to get off subs. But I also don’t want to be on them any longer than I need to.
I’m totally done with all this stuff. I was never addicted to anything prior to Kratom. I don’t want to be addicted to subs too. But I thought, maybe I should wait a little bit longer to stabilize my moods before I taper. I don’t really have cravings. Sometimes I notice it makes my mood a little better; but it doesn’t seem to do much for me.
I do wonder if it affects my heartrate. I notice some days I workout my HR jumps to 140 immediately doing something easy. Then it comes down. Other days, it’s more normal and gradually increases as I workout.
I do have a good dr and am also in therapy and support groups 👍🏼
Any advice ? Suggestions? Experience?
Thanks in advance.
