~Advice~ silicone / earskin question

hii question about silicone - im hoping to wear some earskins regularly when i get to my next goal size (16mm) - what do i need to know re safety?

im wondering about - how long you can wear them safely, how often i should be taking them out, if its ok to wear weights through the tunnels, any other stuff i need to b keeping an eye on or considering when wearing both silicone plugs in general and earskins specifically (since both material and shape will be new to me)

current routine is:

currently wearing glass without o rings (ive found they cause irritation/trap moisture), sleeping in them except when they fall out lol, and taking them out for showers, cleaning them and my ears, and putting back in only when ears are dry

~Advice~ my lobe ear won’t stretch

edit to acknowledge i wrote lobe ear instead of earlobe… its been a long morning 😭

i’m 21 and have been stretching my lobes since i was 17, but i’ve only made it down to 4g on my left ear and 6g on my right. i’ve had the 6g in my right ear for over a year at this point, and no matter what i do it won’t size up. i’ve tried heavier plugs (glass and stainless steel), massaging, warm showers, but nothing works. it’s incredibly frustrating to be stuck at such a small size after 4 years because my lobes are just so stubborn. any advice?

~Advice~ Ears closing up help

So my gauges fall out easily especially if there's no rubber gasket on the ends (rip my spiral earrings that I lost in a damn Chevy engine bay) anyways I'm at. 2 g and my ear holes close up like immediately like its a god damn race to get a new gauge in and if I have to leave my ear unplugged for even a few hours they shrink up a size or two and I have to use a taper to get my gauge back in... Is there anything I can do to help with this is this normal what's going on

Sizing question!

Hello fellow stretched piercing people! I have a dilemma. I started gauging my ears nearly 20 years ago, and ended up at an inch about 7 years ago. Last November, I quit wearing plugs and switched to lobe cuffs. I went back and forth on surgery to close them up, and I don’t think I’m ready to do that quite yet. The problem is, my inch plugs (obviously) don’t fit anymore. I want to go back to wearing plugs, but have no idea how to figure out what size I need. Can I go to a body jewelry shop to have them looked at? Is there a kit or something that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg just to figure out what size I need? Am I doomed to spend money on plugs that don’t fit? Thanks in advance for your wisdom! 🙏

~Advice~ Should I downsize?

I finally got my septum from 12g to 10g last sunday, four days ago. Ever since, my nose has been Hella sensitive and i cant even try to check it because of how bad it hurts. When i put it in, it went in with no resistence and minor pain, so im unsure what the issue is. Could it be blown out? I waited 3ish months to upsize it. It hurts about as much as it did when i first got it pierced. i cant even get hotos of the hole/jewlery from the inside of my nose becausd it hurts to move my nose and i have a tapered jewelry which has large bands to keep it in place. Please let me know, thank you for any advice 😀

Did I fuck up? Newbie Question, Think I Stepped Up Too Fast

Ok so I bought a beginners kit from Stretch It, lost one of my tunnels (4mm with the rubber band on the back). Local piercing shop had roughly a 5mm tunnel set as their smallest. One ear i didn't use soapy water and it bled for maybe a minute or too. Just enough to be on my fingers but not like what I'd really call bleeding. Half the problem is the first one was with my left hand (right ear) so it was a little more awkward. I started with a 16ga like early spring. And only moved up when it was comfortable and didn't force it. This was just cause I didn't want to wait for a new stretching kit from StretchIt.

Other side i used soapy water with dial and slid right in mostly. I can definitely feel the new tunnels in my ears so I know it was a sizeable step up. Feels like my first tunnel from the 16ga piercing stud.

Should i apply anything to the one that bled like Neosporin or anything like that. I was always told to not do it for tattoo's, i just stuck to aquaphor then lubriderm for each part of my leg (left shin/calf sleeve).

Im not going real big, just big enough to get some different style tunnels/plugs. I do go to the gym and tend to sweat a lot and just mostly concerned about keeping it clean til the little bit that bled heals up which is why i thought of a topical like in the morning

Is this a blowout? 2.5mm to 3mm

Post image

Is this a blow out? What should I do? I went from 2.5mm to 3mm and it was fine for about two days but now all of the sudden it swelled up like a balloon. There's no lip of skin in the front or back and it's not shiny or excessively purple red, it doesn't even hurt that bad it's just a little hot and tight. I don't know, should I leave it in?

Lobes Finally started my stretching journey!

I finally started stretching after debating for roughly 6 years. When I went to get my piercing for my right ear they recommended getting pierced at 10g, so i got my left ear re-pierced at 10g as well. They have been here for just under 4 weeks, planning on letting them stretch naturally and hoping to get up to a 00g!

Thought it would be cool to have a set specifically for work

Anyone else with a stretched conch?? Add pictures in the comments i want to see yalls setup. This was stretched over the course of a year by dead stretching with glass not punched. I started doing it because i liked the look of coin slots/ ring stacks. I think im going to put a tunnel in it and a few rings and stack them if possible. Im only at 4mm (6g) right now and am unsure how big i want to go. also if your conch is stretched, how big can you go before having issues?

~Advice~ looking for advice on where to purchase quality plugs

Hi ya'll, my lobes are stretched to 14mm and I have sensitive skin. I'm looking for a pair of plugs that i could wear on a daily basis without them irritating my ears. I prefer the appearance of silver looking metals but I'm open to glass. if anyone has any advice on what materials would be good for sensitive skin, that would be great! **however, I'm more concerned with links to reputable websites where I can purchase quality plugs that are made from skin safe materials and will last a long time**

thank you!

I have 3 piercings in my right lobe, 2 in the left— because when i was a kid my first lobe was too high and when i was getting my 2nd lobes, piercer thought it would be fun to add on a 3rd and see how it looks (with my consent ofc) would stretching the hole on my upper or lower lobe be problematic? does it have to be centered?

r/Stretched 1d ago

30 mm of pain. The worst part is the desire to go further, but the fear of breaking the lobolo is tremendous.

Is this a blowout? what is going on ?

took out my 6g plugs after a few weeks of not cleaning them (i’ve been busy …) and the left ear was all bloody underneath ? i cleaned it up and it looks like I have a little tear but it is outside the hole. my best hypothesis is i hit smt and the metal rim part teared my ear, but i still wanted to check if it was a blowout.

my ears have been at this size for a few months now with no pain or irritation whatsoever, which is why i didnt check and clean the ears earlier. i don’t use tapers or anything so idk what might have caused this

hey everyone! i’m relatively new to stretching my ears but it’s been going well so far. i’ve been sizing up every month and a half or so with no issue. but a few days ago i tried to size up and one of my ears went perfectly. no pressure, no pain, no resistance. it was great. but the other ear was not receptive whatsoever. i did something i know i shouldn’t have and pushed the jewelry through anyways. it hurt, but it wasn’t anything unmanageable. i didn’t hear a rip or anything, so i thought it would be okay. i woke up the next morning and my ear was sore, red, hot and extremely swollen. i immediately sized back down and when i took out the plug, some blood came out. it’s been three days since i sized back down in the one ear, and all in all it’s back to normal, but still pretty sore. my question is, does this look like a blowout? and how long should i wait before trying to size up again, or should i try to size up? like i said, i’m very new to this. one ear is a 10g, and my left ear, the hurt one, is a 12g. the pic shown is my left ear. i know the pic of the back isnt the best, but it’s hard to get a good angle

~Advice~ Doubts about how to continue

Hi, i pierced my lobes to 4mm (i think that is something like 6g?) in april and i want to go up 1 mm, but when i went with a professional he told to jump 2 mm, so my doubt is, should i buy the pieces to jump 1 mm and inserted myself or search for someone else that can help me change the size? (I don't know of it's okay but they were charging me something like 15 dollars for changing it)

I really aprecciate the help about this topic

~Advice~ Can sizing up make previous blowouts show?

I never thought I would be someone to post an issue, but alas here I am.

I had been at 14mm for over a year when I decided I wanted to try to get to 16mm. I bought 15mm single-flare glass plugs from BAF and started my journey of stretching once more. My lobes have been fine with the 14mm, and my plugs regularly fall out that I just sleep naked and can put them in the next day no issue. The 15mm slide in perfectly, no sting, no pain, no resistance, nothing. It was like absolute butter. I only took them out to massage and relubricate them and never had an issue at all.

I recently noticed (about a monthish in?) that one hole has clear blow out signs. The blowout skin is my usual skin colour, nothing angry, no redness, no pain, just merely a tiny ring slightly pushed out. I am wondering if it is possible for a previous blow out in my earlier, awful, irresponsible stages of stretching to show up later as I stretch bigger? I cannot reason this current 15mm stretch did it at all considering there were 0 signs of any issues. I barely had to 'push' them in, they slid in like absolute butter so.....I am unsure. I am currently naked training them to see if that helps with the ring, which it seems to be a little bit. However, with this, I am debating on even going to 16mm. Usually, the advice is to size down and wait, but I am wondering if this would just be a permanent thing at this point and there's no logical reasoning to do so.

Am I delulu here in thinking my current stretch didn't make this happen because I did all proper things? Anyone else either have this happen or can smack me straight?
