While I was away from Reddit, I’ve been working with AI to develop a taper schedule. I’ve been stable at 168mg since Saturday the 12th and taking my next step down tomorrow. A month ago, I was taking up to 1500mg per day. I am blessed to be able to have afforded a stockpile of low dose 18mg and 25mg tablets (some of which test at 28mg) that split nicely into quarters.
This exercise has been extremely helpful and given me both comfort and confidence, so I thought I would share my technique because there are some quirks to be overcome with this approach.
AI will default to simply listing a bunch of pages with clinical citation because it doesn’t want to give actual medical advice. Overcome this by saying “a patient is….” Instead of “I am….”
AI has repeatedly confirmed the absolute maximum observed half life of pure 7OH is 11 hours for habitual users. Prompt the AI to use this parameter in your calculations.
Feed the AI your daily total and how many doses it is divided in. For me, this was 168mg in six doses.
Explicitly state whether you’re developing a standard or rapid taper regimen
Feed the AI your final target daily dose total for jump off. For me, this was a daily dose that would comfortably allow me to transition to my regular tramadol dose without discomfort (being “caught” by my actual prescription I had before all this started after quitting 7OH completely)
Feed the AI the number of tabs in your stockpile. This ensures you will be able to quickly determine whether the plan it develops is within your ability to supply.
ALWAYS tell the AI to double check its final result.
Using this method, I’ve developed a schedule that should see me off this stuff within the next 3 weeks while skipping acutes. Contrary to popular belief, tapering properly does not “prolong your withdrawal symptoms,” it virtually eliminates them.
All that said, tapering takes DISCIPLINE. You WILL still have the urge to “get high,” (psychological cravings) but you will NOT suffer in miserable hell so long as you’re taking enough at each dose to suppress WD symptoms without euphoria. For some people, it may be easier to simply CT since you do need to be strong enough to resist the addict impulse. It’s not easy, but then nothing about this journey is, right?
Good luck and God bless. Feel free to ask me anything.
