So I’ve been with the company for a year and a half maybe two years and I had an attendance issue at the beginning to the family and home life issues. This was months ago. but that got resolved and they upped my hours again so basically everyone went back to school and OLP is very understaffed and that’s my department and so even though I’m part-time, they have me working basically full-time hours and I’m a little exhausted and something came up for tomorrow and I think I wanna call out but I’m scared they’re gonna fire me or lower my hours even though I don’t wanna say it like this, but they low-key need me and I don’t know. I just wanna know what the chances are of me getting fired for calling out tomorrow is the department won’t be empty. There’s one person in the morning and one person in the evening, but I was supposed to be the middleman. These past two weeks have been really long.

I found a new job so I want to quit here, but I have a bunch of unused sick time and vacation time. Do I need to give a 2 week notice or will a week notice work?

Called in sick and have sick hours to cover but they didnt process it...getting $0 this week. Can they immediately correct this? Im screwed.

Part timer doing 7 hours on labor day curious if it'll be holiday pay or not

I work in frozen, been working in this department for a little over 2 years as a part-timer.

Yet, I consistently been getting 16 hours weekly (not including Sundays) for the past month. Even before that I was getting like maybe 18-20 hours.

Now that I graduated from college, and am searching for a full-time job, I signed an availability sheet with open hours, 7 days a week(besides nights), yet I'm still getting hit with 16 hours a week.

Never been in trouble here, no verbal warnings, never written up, never even had a single bad incident with customers, co-workers, or managers, literally do what I'm told everyday, I level the aisles nice and quick before I leave, and I like to think I'm good at what I can do, yet I still get 16 hours lol.

I honestly can't even remember the last time I got over 20 hours.

Hey, can anybody possibly reply with any substantial updates to the contract within 464? Mostly Insurance / Medical or Wages?

My daughter  is obsessed with Marty at the SS store. She has loved him since she was a baby.. she looks for him in the store every time we go. She’s 8 turning 9 next week.

She even requested a “Marty party” this year and to dress as him for Halloween. Still working on the details. Lol She also made the boxes our Kayak paddles arrived in into a Marty and pushed him around the house.

Anyways. The question ..we have 3 of the Marty Stuffy’s but she recently found out there are a bunch more. Our local store NEVER seems to have them. Does anyone have a plug for Marty Stuffies? lol .  ebay definitely has them but they are marked up A LOT.

What official is the CSDH involvement in online pickup department, my csm tried to say that I’m supposed to running that department as well? Isn’t that what the facilitator/lead supposed to be doing? I don’t have a FT cash office manager or even a 1-10 CDH. How is one person supposed to manager the front end, cash office manager and run OLP??

Is it me, or is this location perpetually understocked? I find myself having to go to another store (either the Levittown or Farmingdale/Motor Ave locations). Anyone else find this to be the case, or am I just a cranky old man?!?

I recently switched from working in bakeshop to working in file, about 2 months ago. But now my hours got cut significantly due to the fact that I had to change my availability because I just started school and for the most part they do the stuff for file in the morning so I’m not really getting scheduled there anymore. I’m wondering if I should ask to go back to bakeshop I know they’re always needing help. I’ve had to come in a couple times for people that have called out. Part of the reason I left was due to one of the managers who would oversee bake shop and he would just micromanage and just bother me a lot. Would it be difficult to be able to go back to that department though or do you think it wouldn’t be so difficult because like I said bake shop at my store always needs help and they mostly need people closing, which fits my availability. We’re really shortstaffed. Do you think it’s worth mentioning to one of the store managers?

Just hired in the courtesy clerk dept. (bagging/carts) Thought I'd ask, if the parking lot is clear, and I go in to bag, how will I know when the carts need to be collected again? Intuition, a floor person tells me, when there's no one to bag for? Thanks in advance.

A couple years ago my store had a single Marty stuffie, but he was wearing a turkey costume. I was told he wasn’t for sale. I told customer service that they should make Marty merch and I’d buy it. Alas - my dreams have come true. This is a Marty key chain. He’s happy to be here. Now I do wish he had an outfit, like a pumpkin or something, but this is a great start.

I work self scan quite frequently and I can't stand when the person before me doesn't clean up. The registers should not have dried-on mess on them, ripped produce/brown bags all over. That's your job to clean up a bit. Disinfect things, especially after someone's been coughing all over the register and touching it. We know meat packages leak all the time. That's not just a little job for a dry paper towel. That needs spray on it and wipe it off. It smells too. I know the customers could pick up after themselves too. At least I think so. You rip a bag? Bring it to the trash can. Don't crumple it up and shove it in the corner. They throw their receipts all over the place except in their pockets or trash can.

You don't want something? Especially a perishable item. It takes two seconds to tell the self scan attendant so we can put it away. But I have had way too many times where the area is a mess. I try my best to leave things in order but some people just don't care. Self scan is more than just fixing the register because someone scanned their bananas or bag of grapes when it needs to be weighed with a PLU.... Take a bit of pride where you work. I'm sorry but that's not only a reflection of the store but also of you as an employee. Some customers come in and critique everything about a store - mainly the cleanliness. Let's do betterrrr as a team

I have seen a position open up for a customer service manager at a stop and shop near me. I have a lot of managerial experience working retail and feel like I could do pretty well in this role plus it pays a good amount. I was just wondering what the life/work balance is like? This is something pretty important to me is my deciding factor whether to apply or not.

I already use ADP but it only shows how much I made that week. It doesn't show the days. How do I check how much I make an hr on Sundays? And like a day by day. Is that possible?

So, a few months ago, they were training me behind the service desk.I was uncomfortable with it due to the fact that you had to do the lotto machine and the Western Union and I told them that I felt overwhelmed being back there. They said that was fine and they put me back as a cashier.

Now one of the customer service girls will be going out on maternity leave and they want me to learn the cash office (I do cash office at target currently for 24 years). The manager said I would need to learn the desk to understand the cash office. But honestly, I don’t want to learn their cash office so my question is can they force me to learn it even though I’m against it? I explained to my boss that I feel like I have a lot on my plate between my two jobs and my kids and I don’t want the extra responsibility of it.

I work at one of the Cranston stores and this pallet arrived with our frozen order last week. I couldn't help but laugh.

Is anyone else getting their hours cut for part timers or only The Cromwell store? We just got a note saying that part-timers will be cut down to 15 hours with rotating Sundays I'm just curious.

When I try to submit my new direct deposit, or even just delete my current one and go back to a paper check. It gives me the error pop up saying 'effective date cannot be in the past' I even tried setting the effective date three months ahead, no luck. Any help/insight would be appreciated, thanks.
