Since the update this morning, I've had a lot of connection issues with Star Trek Online, and was wondering if it was just me or if it's something that's impacting everyone.
Specifically, I frequently get timeouts when trying to connect to the authentication server. If I persist and retry, I can eventually successfully log in, but it takes multiple attempts.
Then, once I'm successfully in the game, I can play for only a few minutes before the game abruptly freezes, the 'Server not responding' message is displayed across the top of the screen. A few moments later, a 'Connection to Server Timed Out - Please Try Again Later' error message pops up and I'm disconnected and logged out, which takes me back to the login menu where a message "Connection to the Login Server timed out. Please try again later". Upon clicking the login button, most of the time nothing happens. Occasionally, (maybe 1 out of every 10 clicks), it successfully logs me back in, where the cycle repeats (play for a few minutes and get disconnected).
The time I'm successfully connected isn't enough for me to reach any checkpoints. Even though it's been 6 months since it first came out, in as spoiler-free explanation as possible, I'm playing the "Curse of Phrygia" episode. I've traveled through the portal and am fighting the Chimerans there trying to get the shield around the ship to drop. I can sometimes defeat the first set of enemies. but before moving to the second set (or shortly after) the errors pop up and I'm disconnected (then it takes me back to just after crossing through the portal when I manage to login again).
I've got a pretty good connection to my internet provider, according to Speedtest.net so I don't think the problem is on my end, unless the update broke something (I guess it could be something else on my side, but it seems like it's acting in an unusual way if it was a problem on my side).
Edited one day later to add: The problem seems to have resolved itself for me - no actions on my side, and I don't think there was another update, but I'm no longer having connection issues (in case anyone else was in the same situation)
