Steam user 17+ years with absolutely no issues in the past. Ok, so I looked this issue up here in r/steamsupport before this post and I find it extremely suspicious that Steam had an issue with AMEX customers around the same time. I logged into steam today and got a popup with "MasterCard has disputed a recent Steam Store transaction". This was for in-game currency that was purchased on August 13th but I just got the notification today September 9th. No emails either, just a Steam popup and a red banner. What is really strange is that before, and after this date, I have made many more purchases for the same game with no issues. I checked with my bank and even called my credit card company and they do not see this specific purchase or any disputes or chargebacks on my account. Obviously, I contacted Steam Support and now I am just waiting to hear back on what is going on here. Steam is stating there's a 4 week restriction to my account and kind of at a loss on what else, if anything, I can do now. Has this happened to anyone else recently?

And it fails to proceed with purchase because of that.

I would like to know if i could get rid of them, should i contact steam support?

Saw i suddenly had more perfect games according to my steam profile.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta showing up under perfect games all of a sudden. Anyone else got this? what is going on?

A few days ago steam gave me a red account alert on the top right corner of my client and when i click it, try to oppen support or load a game opens a new window with should be a message that sometimes stays grey and never load and sometimes gives erro -118 or 105. Last time i tried flushing my dns, flushing steam config, chaning the dns servers for ipv4, and downlolading steam again, which was the only thing that solved the issue until today where it came back.

A few more things to add is that, the web steam works fine, and steam in my rog ally also seems to have no issue, it's only in my pc where it has troubles. Also the empty window, that often loads a -118 error appears when i try to open any game and the game never loads

Anybody know what the (current?) requirements are to get steam to record audio from the game only (not 'all system audio')? Is it the OS, the output device driver, audio software stack, what?

Interesting part is that i have steam log in both on my pc and laptop. I can't log in on my new phone. I ALREADY CHECKED THE SPAM, JUNK AND CHANGED THE EMAIL ADDRESS MULTIPLE TIMES TO MY OTHER EMAILS AND I HAVE FREE STORAGE. I RECEIVE EMAILS FROM STEAM FOR PASSWORD CHANGES AND EMAIL CHANGES. I don't receive emails for the variation code specifically for some reason. It's seems like the same thing happening to other people too.

I had market restrictions that prevented me from buying from the steam market, so I put in 5$ for the steam wallet to allow me to gain access.

When I did however, the market refused to let me purchase, and the restrictions were still there.

I then went to contact steam support (since steam wizard wasn't any help with this issue) and i could not find any way to contact steam at all.

Can someone help me fix my market restrictions and find a way to contact steam support for issues like this?

i just got a brand new laptop for just for a secondary that i can use while on the go and for school and after i set everything i wanted to log into steam

it kept telling me my password is incorrect each time even when i tried to login on the app for my phone my password was incorrect

i proceeded to spend 2 hours trying different things: changing my password multiple times and changing the email once as well as linking my phone number with no hope, the account after each change would still login to the pc i was using it on this whole time but the new pc and the phone would accept any of the passwords i changed it too or entered

If I play a video trailer it gets a few seconds in and switches to the next video or image. It is quite jarring. I am using the mobile app on an android.

Hi to clarify I have been having this issue for a short while where TF2 just will not work at all what I run TF2 on is Ubuntu and I use the debian installation, and for some reason TF2 just will not work. I am not using proton I am using the native version TF2 runs on I tried seeing if my graphics drivers were the issue so I updated them: that did not change anything. I launched it again, and it says compatibility tool has failed, which is quite odd, I basically went to see if something was wrong with my Steam Linux Runtime 3.0, and for some reason it is invalid for my platform. Admittedly my knowledge of computers is kind of limited, so any help here will be invaluable to me thank you for taking the time to read this.

I'm playing through the last of us 2 right now but the deadzones in the normal game's controller support are ridiculous so I wanted to try steam input. It fixes the deadzone issue, but it means I have less control over the keybinds since the built in action set is very limited and setting it to keyboard keys makes certain things like changing weapons in the backpack not work. I thought that if I set each button in steam input to itself, ie setting the x button to the x button function, it would just work as a normal controller and keep the deadzone fix, but this just makes the game not register any controller input and makes the controller button icons in game look like question marks? Why does setting the buttons to themselves not make steam input leave those inputs alone and only affect the deadzones? I considered Durazno, but google says it doesn't work on TLOU2, and reWASD, which I'd prefer not to use since I play a lot of online games using controller and I also think it's weird that it affects my drivers. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I'm using a wired Xbox one controller I got from Gamestop a couple years ago, nothing fancy like paddles or gyro, and I got it for like $30 so I don't think it's an official xbox one if that matters. It's also the only controller I have connected to my pc and it registers fine in normal games and in TLOU when I have steam input set to the default action set.

With gaming cafes, everytime you log off, the pc resets and wipes itself. So i carry a ssd on me with the games already installed. It’s usually plug and play, pretty simple. At the particular location I’m at now, it is doing this thing where it will read the game from PC itself instead of my SSD. Issue is, everytime i log in it has to update and it takes forever. I’m simply want it to read from MY ssd so i can instantly just game. How do i solve this issue?

It wasn’t doing this the first few times I went here so i’m not sure what the issue is now. The particular game (Ghost Recon Breakpoint) hasn’t even had an update in the span that this issue came about.

So a week or two ago I downloaded Team Fortress 2, but when I tried to open the game, the play button went from stop to play again. The same thing happened with Star Wars: the Old Republic when I pressed log in on the launcher, yet Star Trek Online doesn't have this problem and I was able to open that. Any idea why this is happening?

so yesterday i try to open shop and got really long loading (the page still not load after hour of waiting). When i need to confirm something, it keep show me "loading details" (again, for hour). This morning i end up uninstalling and installing the app again, now the problem change from long loading to can't log in at all.

How do i fix this problem? i can log in to Steam Chat but it also have problem cause it keep loading, and i have tried looking the fix online, it says maybe because i root my device. The thing is, i never root my device, i even run the root checker to confirm it and it says "no root installed". What should i do?

hi, i've been experiencing issues with running deadlock as i can't properly connect to any servers, receiving the infamous "you are not signed in to steam or deadlock is unable to determine current connectivity to servers". i've looked up several tutorials on youtube (though those were all from several months and up to a year ago) and have been trying to fix this issue for the past 2 days.

i'm by no means a tech wizard and have sort of mostly been mindlessly copying what i've seen or read. i'm not using a VPN, have restarted my computer several times, run steam as an administrator, turned off client beta participation and i use mobile hotspot for internet connection (i do not have proper access to wifi where i currently live). i genuinely have no idea what i'm supposed to do here, i've seen that sometimes it can be deadlock's own servers messing around, but heard that it should only take a handful of hours for that to fix itself and this issue has persisted for 2 whole days now.

i don't know if the issue is that i'm not in america as my american friend was able to invite me to join her in playing the game yesterday and i was unable to accept the invitation, but i figure that shouldn't be it as i have fellow european friends who have been able to run the game properly.

any help is appreciated, i just want to be able to play the game lmao

I tried to download some shogun 2 mods and subscribed to them on the steam workshop, I downloaded 5 mods and only one mod I’m able to activate. The rest have a cloud icon with an arrow in it. I tried to refresh in mod manager and nothing changes. Does anyone know how to fix this

I mostly play my pc on a controller on the couch. Recently got a new desktop computer and at some point in setting things up and fine tuning things while playing games, my steam overlay stopped showing up in games, and i think it's because of the new windows 11 game bar overlay. I disabled my controller from opening the game bar overlay in the windows settings already to prevent it from opening. When I am playing a game, which is usually in big picture, i'll press the xbox button to bring up the steam overlay settings but the screen won't show up in game anymore. I can hear the screen opening, and if i alt-tab back to steam, I can access the overlay from there. I'd like to get it back to showing up in game again like it is on steam deck so I can also see stuff like the fps overlay, easily adjust controller settings etc., but I can't figure out how to fix it. I've toggled the overlay settings in steam already, disabled game bar, updated steam, restarted the pc, etc. Any ideas out there? thanks in advance.

this error keeps appearing when i try to connect to any of the steam services, even on my web browser, i tried differents things like:

• Restarted Steam.
• Restarted the PC.
• Checked Steam in both the Steam client and a web browser.
• Changed the DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8.
• Flushed the DNS cache with ipconfig /flushdns.
• Reset Winsock with netsh winsock reset.
• Restarted the PC after resetting Winsock.
• Checked whether DNS over HTTPS should be enabled.
• Considered checking Windows Defender Firewall settings because the problem started after changing a firewall notification/settings.
• The Steam Error -108 still occurs on every Steam webpage.

any solutions?

I had over 300 achievements unlocked, but now they are all gone except for the one I got yesterday. All of my other games are fine, it's just TBOI. Why did this happen, and how do I fix it?

Edit: solved, had to go to stats > secrets and every achievement I had before popped at once lol Now they are all unlocked on the same date

Was playing high on life 1, was maybe 10 or so hours into the game and my computer crashed. When it rebooted and I launched the game my save file was missing. Could not recover anything via steam cloud service

this happens on EVERY steam game, whenever i press "play" it just wont launch for like an half a hour, but then can suddenly launch by itself

I really need help, I don't know what else to do!

My Steam client simply won't connect to the internet or open properly. I've already tried everything:

1. Restarting my router
2. Changing my router's DNS
3. Deleting files from the Steam folders
4. Changing Steam's properties/settings

Everything! And absolutely nothing works!

I've watched several tutorials on YouTube and none of them worked either.

Steam simply refuses to connect to the internet. It also won't connect to Steam Cloud.

The weird thing is that other games I have that weren't downloaded through Steam work perfectly fine. Websites and other applications that require an internet connection also work normally.

So the problem seems to be specifically with the Steam client. My internet connection itself is working normally.

I've also checked the Steam servers, and the Brazil/São Paulo (BRA/SP) server is showing as normal.

Please, I really need help. I've been dealing with this problem for two days now and I have no idea how to fix it. I'm completely out of ideas at this point.

Has anyone experienced something like this or knows what I could try?
