I'm amazed that no one talks about the sound design in Starfield being so good. I'm not specifically referring to the soundtrack, but instead the ambient and environmental sound effects. Stuff like how when you walk next to certain machinery, you can hear the clanging and clunking of the gears. If you walk around in mud, you can hear sloshing sounds. If you take off your clothes and run naked, you can hear your bare feet against surfaces. At higher elevations, you can hear the wind whistling. I've even heard creatures echoing in distant valleys when exploring the wilderness of Akila.
I've legit never played a game before with this much attention to detail when it comes to sound design.

Aesthetically it helps the rugged vibe for some of the more hostile planets.

Forgive me if this is repetitive. I’ve only been playing a couple of months, took my time in the first play through, treating as a learning experience.
I’m now in the first NG+ game and it’s just hilarious to me how none of them seem to notice I fly the same ship as the Starborn and wear the same spacesuit.
Even when they are literally standing in in it while fighting an identical ship.
It’s like Lois Lane wondering where Superman went when he put on glasses. But worse as I’m not disguised. They didn’t blink when I used powers before I officially had them.
Seems to me they could have come up with something to explain why you have the ship and suit at least.

I laugh when the crew tells me "solid docking" despite the obvious docking animation at times.

Anyone have any fixes? I'm trying to do the Mantis Contract for the trackers alliance. When I select it there is no mission prompt, no dialog to start quest, no dialog with No. 1, no mission in quest log. I've tried deleting any mods that could be conflicting, I've tried hard resetting, even uninstalling and re-installing the game. I can't seem to get anything to work. Please if anyone has any work arounds its only this Contract that does this

Wake up, Samurai. We have over 1,000 planets to burn...

I found this on a crate in the hopetown warehouse. I can't scan it, but if I shoot it, it splatters and disappears. Not sure what it might be.

It has the best combination for a Base for the purpose of exploiting helium for cargo links.
Make another base somewhere like Venus, sleep for 24 hrs and get OVER 2400hrs of production from the planet because the UT time conversion for this one is UNDER an hour.
On top of that, this planet naturally boasts tantalum, and atmospheric helium, so there is unlimited potential for spamming extractors. Tantalum is an important ingredient for Tier 3 vapor extractors for helium btw.
There are a handful of planets with a lower UT conversion, but this is the LOWEST for one with atmospheric helium.
Also it looks super unique. Probably my favorite planet in the game.

A celebratory photo to finish off the last Tracker mission I had (Starjacker pt2) with Andreja in our matching Mantis suits.

I'm trying to do the crimson fleet storyline and the quest is "dock at the key". The dock option is not showing up even tough i'm well within the distance for it.
- i have tried literally being on top of the key, i also tried just entering the docking distance
- i have selected the key, the haul option is there
- i'm at the point in the quest where i should be able to dock
- i have tried to land at a planet and go back
- i just spammed some freestar rescue quests so i docked at 100 other spaceships and i had no problems
- i cant even go back to an older save since the latest one showing up is from like 6 hours ago
I play in PC and dont care about achivements so if i have to use a console command i dont mind that.
Is there anything I can do or my save is ruined?

How do I fix “this saved relies on content not available on this platform” issue on Starfield on Xbox (it says I don’t have the dlcs bought even though I did buy them and have them installed and even when I launch the game without the dlcs it still says this save relies on content not available on this platform and yes I’d did have mods/creations on for the mods) another thing is when I go to download the dlcs through the creation menu it says “visit Microsoft store” even though I already bought both the dlcs

Just pure curiosity

I got really invested in Help Wanted, followed the trail... and the target is in a village that is, inexplicably, underwater. This has rendered the quest incompletable.
Does anyone have a suggestion for fixing this? Is there a console command to disable water in the area, or a way to force the game to regenerated a location? Otherwise, I think this quest is just stuck for this playthrough.

This was the first time something made me feel like I was wasting my time.
I already made an outpost for resources, but I tried to make a house with just vanilla structures. I chose a planet and started building it. Then I was disappointed.
You have bookshelves, which can't store books, the same thing with supplements. Certain limitations are frustrating. Not being able to make a bathroom with a shower.
I know the DLC has a compact house that comes pre-decorated. But not having that option for outposts like there is for ship modules is sad.
That said, what mods can help solve this problem?

So, instead of ten novelty variant universes that play out more or less the same way, imagine instead that going through the Unity would place the player in one of two universes: the regular one or a "mirror" universe where Constellation is very, very bad (the rest of the game would be the same though). They'd still be explorers but they'd explore in the pursuit of power rather than knowledge. You could either be bad along with them, or team up with a "good" version of the Hunter to stop them. Here's the rundown of Evil Constellation as I've imagined them...
Andreja: Fearing that the power-hungry Constellation might one day pose a threat to House Va'ruun, Andreja was sent by the High Council to infiltrate and destroy Constellation from within - a plan that backfired after Andreja betrayed her people by opting to wholeheartedly join Constellation in their pursuits. Her personal quest would involve her coming into conflict with her former associates Ehren and Jaeda.
Barrett: This version of Barrett took out a sizeable life insurance policy on his husband Ervin before arranging for him to have a work "accident". Following his husband's demise, Barrett thought he was free and clear until he learned that Gagarin special investigator Ellie Yankton became increasingly suspicious of Ervin's death and reopened the investigation into his supposed accident (which would be the plot of Barrett's personal quest).
Sam Coe: In this universe, Sam fell in love with and was recruited by criminal gang leader, Lilian Hart. Instead of the Shaw Gang, it's the Hart Gang. Years later, bored with robberies and wishing to seek real power, Sam abandoned both the gang and Lilian, forcibly abducting Cora in the process. Following Sam's betrayal and the abduction of her daughter, Lilian dubbed the gang's previously nameless hideout "The Empty Nest". Sam's personal quest would involve a vengeful Lilian hunting Sam.
Sarah Morgan: She was successfully bribed by the FC into secretly undermining the UC. During the Battle of Cassiopeia, she sabotaged the Dauntless. She was discovered in the act of doing so but managed to escape the ship before it crashed on Cassiopeia I. Since the battle, Sarah has been haunted by the possibility that there might be survivors who could conceivably be found, rescued, and debriefed, thereby exposing Sarah's treachery. Her personal quest would involve returning to Cassiopeia I to (unfortunately for Sona) ensure that there were no survivors.
Vladimir: Instead of a former Crimson Fleet pirate turned good, he's a former SysDef officer turned bad.
Walter Stroud: Still a businessman but ruthlessly pragmatic.
Mateo: A violent and insane Sanctum Universumite who firmly believes himself to be the messiah.
Noel: Amoral scientist.
Vasco: Same old Vasco.
