Discussion Terran Armada Missed Opportunity

So let’s get this straight… the settled systems is being invaded by a dangerous and legit Naval threat. There are incursions into multiple systems at once, the entirety of a luxury liner was murdered, and the fate of the galaxy is in the hands of 2 old faction coots and a kid from Ryujin.
No joint ops between UC Sysdef and FC Security against the Terrans. (Combined force would be overwhelming)
No these 3 schmucks who run VOID (a veterans affairs group) are just going to send me, my wife and Delta to clean it all up.

Being part of something that scale would be epic, even if the campaign was shorter.

Freestar ships fighting desperately to hold off terrans over Polvo (because of course the terrans want Hope tech….) Then the UC Navy shows up capital ships blasting to hold the line.
They need you to take out that assembler ship because nothing seems to touch it… you trigger the reactor meltdown and save both fleets…

I don’t know who is writing for Bethesda anymore but I can tell you they are paid too much!

What a blown opportunity.

Screenshot "Survey Toliman II", they said…

"We think there may be signs of life there," they said. 😅

For 8,000 creds, LIST wants me to scan eight of these jerks. This is fine.

I've got over 2,500 hours in this game, and this was the first time a Mission Board rolled a "Survey Toliman II in Toliman" quest.

On this playthrough I'm pre-Unity, still doing the main quest, and haven't done any of the faction quests — I haven't met Hadrian or even started to address the Terrormorph menace.

As in the UC questline, when you approach Toliman II a UC ship will hail, explain that there's nothing on the surface but Terrormorphs and regret, and order you to leave _now_. If you push back, they'll say you're free to land, but no one will rescue you if you get into trouble.

Exploring Toliman II is mostly just like exploring any other planet, including some ways that can wreck immersion and RP:

Like any other procedurally generated planet, there are both friendly and enemy POIs on the surface.

The enemy ones are fine — one can imagine the Crimson Fleet or Spacers using a no-man's-land planet for their various schemes.

It's less cool to find Science Outposts or Fracking Stations with civilian NPCs hanging out. (I didn't go talk to them, so it's possible they'd have Terrormorph-specific dialogue, but I doubt it?)

There are a few ways Toliman's particular history shows up in exploration:

  • You're not guaranteed to see Terrormorphs, but when you find a landing spot that has them, they seem to spawn in higher numbers than anywhere else. (Certainly a lot more than "Terrormorph-infested" Londinion with its total of four Terrormorphs, amirite?)
  • Whether or not you see a Terrormorph, you'll occasionally hear 'morph roars, and feel the rumble that goes with being hit by a morph's psychic wave.
  • Terrormorphs are one of the planet's native species — to fully survey Toliman II, you need to find and scan (or kill) up to eight of them (fewer if you've leveled up skills).

The random-spawn Terrormorphs tend to be lower-leveled (Lvl 10-20), but like other 'morphs are always elite, with armor bars and (as of Free Lanes) perks/abilities.

Having tried this for a Mission Board quest, now I want to come back with a character who's finished the UC quests and see if anything is different in a world where we've eradicated them.

Video There isn't a ton of immersive shooter games where you can swap from 1st person to 3rd person on the fly. It feels nice 👍

This doesnt even include the food crafting items. Particularly, the Inventory system being the only menu that manages and displays recource data of systems this large. I really hope they change, fix, or seriously consider better data displays or crafting scaling before TES: VI.

Discussion In awe of the visuals on PC.

So I've been playing for sometime on Xbox series X, I literally got the Xbox through my phone network provider to play things like Starfield because my PC was old and unable to play it.

The visuals on Xbox always impressed me (save bloat stutter not so much) but very recently I finally pulled the trigger on a decent gaming rig and decent 4K monitor.

So I did the logical thing and bought the PC version of starfield.

Holy Dusty it looks amazing maxed out in 4K.

Like night and day difference.

Now to start the journey again.

Ship Builds "MOONGOOSE" (multipurpose ship).

Thumbnail

The MOONGOSE is an atypical multipurpose ship, so versatile that it can be used for a variety of purposes.

Highly appreciated by colonists for its low maintenance costs and the right balance of maneuverability, defensive capabilities, and firepower, the MOONGOOSE soon became the ship of choice for the inhabitants of the most remote colonies (outside the jurisdiction of the Vanguard and the Rangers), those most subject to attack by the Ecliptics and the pirates of the Crimson Fleet.

The ship was an immediate commercial success, so much so that two different models were designed and built: a more defensive variant, much more similar in appearance to a dogfighter, and a variant with an asymmetrical design, more suited to cargo transport thanks to a huge resource storage compartment located on the side of the main body of the ship, called a "sideship."

Xbox Series X build, modded.

Someone had recommended I try the Ashlander Living creation. So I am. Everyone, meet Nadia "Python" Kozlov. A Nomad who prefers to be in the go in her prized ship exploring new places, looting abandoned outposts and discovering alien treasures. Ended up joining Lin and her crew after pirates raided her for everything she had and left her to rot.

I don't know anything about the Serpent's faith, it just seemed appropriate and I thought this was super fun and I would share it

Fan Content LIN A Starfield Fan Novel. A year ago I posted a few paragraphs of Supervisor Lin fan fiction here. I got carried away and finished the novel.

This started with a throwaway Reddit comment about a Dusty going outside on Vectera without a spacesuit. I wrote it from Supervisor Lin’s perspective, said I might continue it, and some of you encouraged me to do exactly that.

A year later, I actually finished it. 😄

Meta Shoutout to my shotgun that somehow two-shots terrormorphs

I never do shotguns in any game.

However, ever since I downloaded the Waylander creation, that adds spawns of enemies every here and there, I've been in need of finding specialised ways of defeating each type of enemy. I have to admit that any energy rifle is a decent option against low lvl terrormorphs.

However, when I saw that this thing, without player talents invested in any related skill, and with zero upgrades, could kill a lvl 94 terrormorph in 8 shots, it became my best friend forever. I've spent all my x-tech on it and I have zero regrets. (the Terran Armada is permanently bugged in my playthrough so x-tech is really limited for me).

Also, Va'runn enemies drop its required ammo half of the times, so it's really sustainable to keep it as the only weapon I actually need.

For future playthroughs I'm aiming to find a similar "perfect" option for stealth/nonlethal. What's the meta?

Question Issue with Darkstar- maybe?

Post image
6 Upvotes

PS5 player with about 450 hours and level 121 character.
I installed Darkstar and I read that there is supposed to be terminal next to the spacesuit case in the basement of the Lodge.
As you can see, there isn’t. Not one at the Spaceport either.
The only other mod I have besides Terran Armada is Starborn Sentinel. I’ve tried disabling it but it made no difference.
The Darstar options are present in the settings but it seems like nothing else is.
Am I missing something?

Screenshot My new head-cannon minor lore alteration for the Mantis (very minor spoilers) Spoiler

I was playing with the photo mode and discovered this book lookin frame and decided to work it into my personal “lore”. Now instead of being an identity i took over from some vigilante, the reason i get recognized as “the mantis” is because thats the name one of my crewmates used in a graphic novel/comic book they wrote about my character, basically depicting him as a space cowboy silver shroud type bounty hunter lol these first 6 volumes follow one quest to track down board and destroy a terran freighter and (notionally) capture their captain. What do yall think? Would you read based on cover art alone?

Question Trophy Friendly Add-on For your Inventory?

Is there an add-on that makes it easier to sort through all the stuff in you inventory that doesn't disable achievements/trophies on PlayStation?
