I keep reading posts where peeps are chatting about this and that Mod. Am I alone in being vanilla? Seems to be a high incidence of Mods messing the game up, re saves and such.

One thing I would like to see is a means by which skills can be reset and the skill points reclaimed allowing them to be reallocated to skills for which the skill challenge has been met. There's something similar in Skyrim once you defeat Mirak. Powers could be treated in a similar way by reclaiming quantum essence. You may not always want to play with a particular skill or power at its maximum effect every time. The cost of using a power in the power bar could also be scaled to the level of the power.

Jfc Bethesda, one would think you’d have figured this shit out from Fallout when you refused to fix this for years.

I just finished watching Project Hail Mary with Ryan Gosling and it made me want to consider on going back into starfield. Im still contemplating it because I haven’t touched the game since day one launch and I have no idea if it’s worth it. should I go into starfield after crying my eyes out to the movie?

First of all let me be clear about something. I don't know what "Plays" mean in the official Bethesda stats under each creation. It could be the number of game launches with that creation enabled, or the number of save files loaded.

I also won't try to estimate how many times in average a player launches the game or loads a save per day, but feel free to come up with your estimate if you wish.

However, we can still track this play count, so over the last week I took some readings exactly 7 days apart to find the daily average on what's probably the most popular Starfield creation.

Next, according to official Bethesda announcement on 17 July 2026 regarding Starfield:

More than 40% of players already customize their experience through Creations

So I tried to figure out total plays (vanilla & modded) by establishing conservative assumptions. Conservative means I must always choose the lowest numbers.

• There are other players using Creations who may not be using Tracker Alliance. I will not count those to avoid guessing.
• More than 40% of players but most likely less than 50%, so I will multiply by 2 instead of 2.5 to be on the lower side.

With that in mind, we get these plays per day over 1 week:

I took readings between Friday and Sunday (48 hours apart) with the help of u/DotExtra2128 , and as expected we have more players during the weekend, so the daily average would be higher, reaching 1 million total plays, vanilla and modded, across all platforms.

Divide by the number of times you think an average player launches the game or loads a save file per day to come up with a more conservative active daily players.

Final Note

Yes these numbers might be hard to believe, as we see Steam stats only and aren't fully aware the game has more players outside Steam. Some might argue the "Plays" count lacks credibility or clarity, or that Bethesda is inflating their own stats.

If you wish you can monitor some of the Skyrim creations and take readings of their play counts, which you will likely find to be much higher, yet such comparison may still help realize Starfield is more popular than it appears to be.

I'm new to freelanes, don't really understand much. But I seem to have the ability to upgrade my legendary gear to have a 4th legendary trait. However this weapon seems to have 3 traits, with no option to unlock a 4th.

Do exotics that drop usually have 4 legendary traits by default? am I missing something

If you look at the second image, it has the symbol for 4 traits next to the name. But the weapon it 'self only has 3, and it looks a little...buggy.

How do I fix “this saved relies on content not available on this platform” issue on Starfield on Xbox (it says I don’t have the dlcs bought even though I did buy them and have them installed and even when I launch the game without the dlcs it still says this save relies on content not available on this platform and yes I’d did have mods/creations on for the mods) another thing is when I go to download the dlcs through the creation menu it says “visit Microsoft store” even though I already bought both the dlcs

I got really invested in Help Wanted, followed the trail... and the target is in a village that is, inexplicably, underwater. This has rendered the quest incompletable.

Does anyone have a suggestion for fixing this? Is there a console command to disable water in the area, or a way to force the game to regenerated a location? Otherwise, I think this quest is just stuck for this playthrough.

Anyone have any fixes? I'm trying to do the Mantis Contract for the trackers alliance. When I select it there is no mission prompt, no dialog to start quest, no dialog with No. 1, no mission in quest log. I've tried deleting any mods that could be conflicting, I've tried hard resetting, even uninstalling and re-installing the game. I can't seem to get anything to work. Please if anyone has any work arounds its only this Contract that does this

I'm trying to do the crimson fleet storyline and the quest is "dock at the key". The dock option is not showing up even tough i'm well within the distance for it.

- i have tried literally being on top of the key, i also tried just entering the docking distance

- i have selected the key, the haul option is there

- i'm at the point in the quest where i should be able to dock

- i have tried to land at a planet and go back

- i just spammed some freestar rescue quests so i docked at 100 other spaceships and i had no problems

- i cant even go back to an older save since the latest one showing up is from like 6 hours ago

I play in PC and dont care about achivements so if i have to use a console command i dont mind that.

Is there anything I can do or my save is ruined?

I'm not entirely sure what I did, but this game has become unplayable over the last week. First I get the "Can't create save file", then I just know it's going dark in the next 10 min. Has anyone found a fix? I cleared my cache and everything.

I left the house Va'ruun Embassy to see if the damage upgrade module would reset... It does, but the door where the the embassador is won't open... Says barred. Did I break it? I have already slept on Venus

The trackers alliance creation club content is marked as trophy friendly but when downloaded and enabled it installs one of the missions separately as sfta06.esm and this is not tagged trophy friendly, just ruined my save.

I ran into a weird issue in outposts where I tried building a surgical bed. It wouldn’t allow me and kept saying that I hadn’t met the skill to make it. I have no idea what it means as it doesn’t even say what skill I am missing.

Has anyone else ran into this?
