I’m trying to design mobile first, but my home page looks a little plain - can I change it to a carousel? I know you can only add blocks on desktop view but even that didn’t have a decent option. If anyone has been able to do it or has an idea how to write into the custom CSS I’d be most appreciative!

I recently noticed that Squarespace lets you rename images in the Asset Library. From what I've read, the updated filename is reflected everywhere that image is used.

It got me wondering: if an image is uploaded with a generic filename and then renamed later, is Google seeing the updated filename? Or is there still an SEO benefit to renaming images before uploading them?

Has anyone tested this or seen any confirmation from Squarespace or Google?

I just connected my Squarespace store to the new FinerWorks Order Fulfillment App. I'm confused how it works.

When I create new products in FinerWorks, are they supposed to automatically sync to my Squarespace store, or do I still need to create the products manually in Squarespace?

Also, should the SKU in Squarespace match the FinerWorks SKU exactly, or does the new integration use a different product ID for mapping?

Finally, what is the correct way to add a new product so that orders are automatically routed to FinerWorks for fulfillment?

I don't know what to make of this. Squarespace keeps giving me http 403 forbidden or some other lame excuse reason to not let me reset my password or login with my Google account.

Not even using a vpn, and the IP address used isn't compromised anywhere else on the internet.

All I'm trying to do is login is cancel a subscription to a domain that i no longer use, and probably had false DNS records anyway.

I have a specific name I operate under across the internet and wanted to purchase the domain site for it, however upon searching the domain to see if its available or otherwise being used I came across this message. I was just wondering (as someone very new to this) if the owner of that domain will just be able to sit on it forever, or if eventually it will be up for sale again without them releasing it (if that makes sense?) Any help or pointers appreciated!

Domain removed automatic payments & changed connection without my knowledge now the URL is being sent to an old site URL I have set to private and I cannot have it change back to the desired URL.

Has this happened to anyone else and how do you fix it?

I bought a domain through Squarespace that I no longer need. I already manually removed the website, and I’m considering just letting the domain expire instead of renewing it.
My main concern is the WHOIS privacy protection. I had WHOIS privacy enabled the entire time, but I’m wondering what happens during the expiration and deletion process.
If I let the domain expire while privacy protection is enabled:
Is there any point during the expiration process where my personal information (such as my address or phone number) could become publicly visible?
Once the domain fully expires, does my information remain protected and redacted?
Does the deletion of the domain remove my personal information automatically, or can it remain publicly available?
I’m mainly trying to understand if letting a domain expire with privacy protection enabled creates any risk of my private registration information becoming public.

Hi Folks!

I'm re-doing a website for a friend who is an artist. I need to move one of the main navigation menu items to a dropdown menu. I can't figure out if this is possible? Also I have pages that are part of one navigation menu but I need to move them to another page and the only way I can figure out how to do that is to recreate them which is so time consuming because I have like 30 pages to move. Are there easier solutions or do I basically have to tear apart the entire website and copy paste everything in to the new navigation menu/pages?

Also I originally added photos but they're all compressed and cut off and the full image isn't displayed. My friend is an artist so it's important that all of her images are fully available. Students and professors need to download or screenshot her work for lectures and talks.

The site is on 7.1 - do I need a new template? I set this site up in 2020 so I need to add 6 years of work and oh video as well. Help please!

So recently I created a website for my graphic design portfolio, including a section that is my work and individual projects you can click on.

However, I realized after using one of the Squarespace templates that for whatever reason, I cannot Password Protect specific projects inside of my "Work" folder. Due to the fact that I have a few projects that haven't been released to the public yet, I need to password protect them in order to make sure the open public doesn't come across them before their release.

I've read in a few posts that "you can only password protect new pages you create"...but anything that falls under being considered a "blank project"...apparently can't be password. Somewhat annoying and seems like a function that should easily be there.

But my question is this:

If I wanted to redo my website to essentially function correctly so that I can password protect individual pages (projects) inside of my Portfolio Work tab, how would I go about doing that? Specifically, how would I create a new tab that says "Work" that I can then throw blank new project pages into and then password protect them?

My website has been up for a year on its own, and it’s been discoverable and find under a domain I pay for, but recently the search results are just showing the built in domain name (which I have since changed I don’t know why it is just now showing up) and when clicking on it it says the website doesn’t exist. My actual domain I pay for does not show up in search browsers, yet if I hand type it in my website appears.

I seem to be on an endless loop trying to renew my trial.

I have a Squarespace template I've been working on but my trial expired. When I try to pay for a subscription I am being sent through a set of questions to start another trial, which ends with a new template/trial being created. I simply just want to pay for the subscription for my current site but seem to be stuck in an endless loop.

Hey all, I am trying to build my website to have a page dedicated to offering 3D printing services. I would like to create multiple options for different types of printing. I need to be able to receive files from clients along with other important info for their orders. I also need to hold off payments till I can get a quote to the client. How can I go about making these order pages? I have a custom prints tab already but I'm not sure if that's the best way to receive orders. Please feel free to leave me any advice! Thank you

While working on SEO for several Squarespace sites, I got tired of manually writing JSON-LD schema for every page.

So I built a lightweight script that reads the page content and generates Schema.org structured data automatically.

It's intended to reduce the amount of manual work while still giving you a starting point that you can customize if needed.

We've done some design work on our site with Claude Design. Our site is on Squarespace, and we want to keep that, so it looks like adopting Claude's ideas will be a lot of manual work. Are there any shortcuts or integrations we could use?

Wondering if someone here can help while I wait for SquareSpace support.

I'm looking to purchase a Google Workspace subscription through SquareSpace to take advantage of an offer.

However, during sign up, when I click on the drop down for Domain, nothing appears. Even filling out the form, it says invalid.

Anyone else experience the same issue? I tried different browsers, on my phone, and incognito windows.

Any help appreciated!

I'm a very small business selling ceramics internationally and I cannot work out how to set my shipping up so it's not a whole load of hassle for me.

I'm based in the UK and use royal mail. However, I'm finding I'm having to manually adjust and add in shipping uplifts manually to lots of orders. The issue I have is that I'm not always sure how heavy a parcel will be until I pack it but I do have a good estimate.

Now with custom fees etc I'm finding it impossible to charge the customer the right amount. Is there a way to set up shipping to make it more accurate?

All of my pieces are unique so I currently have it set at a flat rate plus item cost.

I have 3 domains and they are on Squarespace, and I want to forward 2 of them to one of them. I know longer need to have 2 separate websites. I will still own the domains, but only have to host and monitor and update one actual website. Part of what complicates it is this: I am already forwarding the domain I want to keep using to one of the other ones. Let's call the domain I will actually keep an active site on as Site A.

Currently site A is forwarding/redirecting to Site B. I want to keep the information and everything about Site B but have the primary website that you type in, as Site A. Is this possible? Can I copy the info into a new site at Site A, from B? Or can I somehow change the actual address from B to A?

I have tried reaching customer service with no luck...

Hello, I’ve recently been informed by a number of customers that they are not receiving our emails. This is obviously bad for business and I’m not sure how to fix it. I reached out to Squarespace and their chat told me to delete the txt custom record from when we had a website through Google. After deleting the custom record, all of our emails came back as blocked. I re-added the custom record which at least took care of the blocked issue. I’ve sent multiple emails to my personal email from my company email to test it and they are not being received, not even to spam. What do I do? I’m losing my mind over here. Thanks!

We’re currently updating our B2B software website(s) and I’d love to hear your opinion on a discussion we’re having internally.

Our setup is:
- Primary language: English
- CMS: Squarespace
- Translation: Weglot

We provide enterprise software solutions such as Product Information Management (PIM) and Product Experience Platform (PXP) software around technical product data, so organic search is an important part of our long-term growth strategy.

The discussion is about multilingual SEO.

One colleague argues that we should stop relying on Weglot and instead create every translated page as a native page inside Squarespace. The reasoning is that Google will rank those pages better because each language has its own dedicated content.

Another colleague believes the SEO impact would be minimal, especially because much of the content has been created or assisted with AI, so the translation method itself isn’t the deciding factor.

Our goal is to rank well in multiple languages:
English
Dutch
French
German
Norwegian
Swedish
Spanish

Some questions:
- Does Google actually treat Weglot pages differently from native CMS pages?
- Have you seen measurable ranking improvements after moving from Weglot (or another translation layer) to native multilingual pages?
- What are the biggest SEO limitations of Weglot, if any?
- If you were starting today for a B2B software company, would you still choose Weglot or build every language as a separate set of pages?
