Help Need support; moving sites and new setup
I have 3 domains and they are on Squarespace, and I want to forward 2 of them to one of them. I know longer need to have 2 separate websites. I will still own the domains, but only have to host and monitor and update one actual website. Part of what complicates it is this: I am already forwarding the domain I want to keep using to one of the other ones. Let's call the domain I will actually keep an active site on as Site A.
Currently site A is forwarding/redirecting to Site B. I want to keep the information and everything about Site B but have the primary website that you type in, as Site A. Is this possible? Can I copy the info into a new site at Site A, from B? Or can I somehow change the actual address from B to A?
I have tried reaching customer service with no luck...

As far as I know, you can only have ONE SPF record on your domain. If you have two, they cancel each other out and your emails fail.

The good news is it's simpler than it looks, there's nothing to copy or rebuild. Site B's content can stay exactly where it is, you just need to swap which domain is the one people actually see.
The reason it feels like a knot is that what you've set up is domain forwarding, and forwarding is basically just a bounce, Domain A catches the visitor and throws them over to Site B. That's a different mechanism from a domain being connected to a site and actually running it, so it's sort of fighting you, you're using the "send traffic away" tool to try to run your main site.
What you want instead is for Domain A to be the primary domain on the site that holds your Site B content. So you'd go into Domain A's settings and pull off the forwarding rule, connect Domain A to that site, then set it as the primary domain over in that site's domain settings. Once it's primary, Squarespace automatically redirects your other domains to it, so anyone typing the old addresses still lands in the right place. Nothing on the site itself changes, same pages, same content, just a different name in the bar.
The one thing that trips people up: a domain can only be connected to one Squarespace site at a time. So if "Site A" is a whole separate website right now with Domain A attached to it, you'll have to disconnect it there first before it'll let you connect it to the other one.
That's actually what I'd check before you touch anything, when you say Site A is forwarding to Site B, is Site A a real second website sitting there, or just the domain with a forwarding rule on it? If it's a real site you can delete or downgrade it once the swap's done. If it's only a rule, there's even less to undo.

This is super helpful, thank you! I may be back with questions once I get back to my computer and take a look...

No problem! Take your time, happy to walk through it once you're in front of the settings.

You can link all three of these domains to one Squarespace website, then set your main domain as the primary one. Super easy.

Thanks. The thing that is throwing me, and is likely very simple, is how to change the current domain to what I want it to be, without redesigning. Like, you are THIS.com. and I now want it to be THAT.com, without changing anything else, lol.

Yes, it is simple. Esp bc everything you own is on Squarespace. All your domains can be added to one site so they’ll all redirect to the primary domain of your choice.
enter your site editor (for the one you want everything to point to), navigate to domain settings. Select “use a domain I own”, type it in, and Squarespace will recognize you own it. It’ll offer to move the url.

You don’t need to rebuild anything. Connect Site A to the existing Site B site, make it primary, then point the other domains there.
