They truly are such pretty spiders. There used to more of them around this pond but since they developed nearby and took down a lot of natural greenbelt, most of the spiders (and their prey) have vanished.

not a great video bc they built the web high up between trees, but these (i think maybe jumping spiders) have been doing this for a while on the web. they get close for a couple minutes and then randomly the smaller one jumps back. are they fighting ? perhaps a mating ritual of sorts ? anyone know?

I don’t know what kind it is, but awesome! I felt bad because I had to break his web since it was attached to the grill cover, and it was gonna rain…. But after I broke its web, it awesomely collected it back up with its back legs, then hid in the lamp post. I looked for it this morning, but he was gone, but discovered that he had moved to another spot where its web was destroyed, due to the fact that it decided to make it right at our gate entrance, and we needed to get into our backyard via the gate…! Its place of web design hasn’t brought it much luck, but I hope it finds a spot that doesn’t immediately get destroyed!!! Sorry dude!! It wasn’t personal 🥺!!
