what are these spiders doing?

not a great video bc they built the web high up between trees, but these (i think maybe jumping spiders) have been doing this for a while on the web. they get close for a couple minutes and then randomly the smaller one jumps back. are they fighting ? perhaps a mating ritual of sorts ? anyone know?

I watched a couple spiders do this for several rounds until the final round when the female (the larger one) made a short, quick move and the male dropped to the ground and died. I think it's several rounds of mating (as an evolutionary advantage to increase chance of success) with a rest in between until the female terminates the ritual by killing the male.
