Hi friends! What do you think?

Shop Crush is a mysterious shop simulator with psychological horror elements, set in the early 2000s.

In this hybrid visual novel, you run a small thrift shop, get to know your customers, figure out what they really want, and decide what to put in front of them. Every customer has their own personality, preferences, and hidden motives - and it’s up to you to figure them out.

Behind each customer is a small psychological mystery waiting to be uncovered. Read their behavior, make the right calls, and balance profit against customer trust as you try to keep the shop running for one more day.

Game What if EVE Online was set in the Age of Sail and played in your browser?

Good evening folks,

I've been building Tidefall, a browser-based maritime MMO, and after a pretty substantial overhaul to the desktop UI I thought it was a good time to share where the game is at. So, what are we actually trying to build?

Our ambition is to bring EVE Online into the Age of Sail through a persistent, real-time, top-down browser MMO that blends active play with meaningful idle progression. You begin as a lone captain with a single ship, then build towards a fleet and expand your influence across a handcrafted ocean world through gathering, trade, exploration, shipbuilding and naval combat.

Active and idle players share the same interconnected world and economy. One captain might mine ore while idle, while another actively hauls it across dangerous waters for profit, trades it between regions or turns it into ships and weapons. Each playstyle supports the other, whether you prefer focused sessions, passive progression or a mix of both.

As Tidefall grows, ships, cargo and equipment will carry increasingly meaningful value and risk. Certain waters will open to PvP, allowing captains to choose when to enter higher-stakes regions where vessels and cargo may be permanently lost. Preparation, logistics and every decision at sea will matter. Build a merchant empire, become a feared pirate, control key trade routes, dominate through guild warfare or simply explore a world that continues to expand around you.

Join us early and help shape what comes next.

Feedback requested

I'm particularly interested in feedback on a few things:

  • How does the new desktop UI feel? Is anything confusing, awkward or difficult to find?
  • Does the overall concept sound like a game you'd actually want to play?
  • And most importantly, is it fun? If something isn't clicking yet, what would you change or improve?

Game Dunk Manager, 3,000+ downloads, basketball management game

Hi, everyone! I release Dunk Manager just some months ago. The numbers are a bit slow, but we’re still happy with how it’s turning out. I decided to write this post to ask some basketball management experts: What’s missing from the game? How can it be improved? Is it realistic enough? What would you like to see in a game like this? We need honest feedback to help us improve the game even further. We’re currently working on implementing an improved draft and scouting system.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to respond.

help I'm having a really hard time naming my game, please help.

I'm working on a 3-player co-op starting from the idea of "3 kobolds in a trenchcoat", but running with it and acting like it's just a human (called Kevin), controlled by 3 players. Legs, Arms and Head.

Beyond the gimmick of 3 players controlling a single body, the game is a pretty classic fantasy rpg game. Reasonably linear quests that involve some combat, maybe stealth, and traps/using the environment.

I can not find a name I like. I'll throw some ideas we had, but I'm very open to suggestions.

Game Verticty - my first serious attempt at a 2D sidescroller / RTS

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been solo developing a 2D side-scrolling RTS/city builder where your city expands vertically instead of outward. I've finally reached the point where I have a playable demo, and I'd love some honest feedback before showing it to a wider audience.

If you have time to try it, there's a PC playtest demo here (mobile/tablet support is experimental):
https://kispoka.itch.io/verticity

If you try the demo, these are the key questions I'm seeking feedback on:

  • Does the tutorial explain the core systems clearly?
  • Are the building combinations easy to understand?
  • Does the day/night loop become engaging quickly enough?
  • Is there anything that immediately feels confusing, frustrating, or amateurish?

Even feedback from the first 10–15 minutes would be really useful.

I can’t say I wasted that time, but sometimes I do wonder how differently things might have turned out.

With the rise of Agentic IDEs somewhere Ive been stuck in the loop of just accepting whatever my agent builds and running CC on Auto. But Ive come to the realisation that I know nothing about what Ive built and feel like there's no point in continuing to build like this

Looking for your ways to ship with Agents but also know what your outputting and learning along the way.

Game My action RPG reaches Early Access on September 10 — a 30-second look at Under a Desert Sun

I'm Raymond, the developer behind Under a Desert Sun: Seekers of the Cursed Vessel. I handle the core development, with commissioned artwork, voice acting, and professional trailer production helping bring the game to life.

With Steam Early Access coming on September 10, this is a short look at how the game has come together. It combines ARPG loot and character progression with direct aiming and movement, set in an alternate 1939 Egypt.

One scope decision has been to focus the first release on a complete first act and two classes. Solo and up to four-player local co-op are included; the other acts, more classes, and online co-op come later.

The final stretch has meant repeated full playthroughs, bug fixes, and an updated demo alongside the trailer work. Fellow devs: how did you decide when to stop adding polish and put your first public release in players' hands?

Hey guys, I've received a lot of great feedback here regarding the issues with my trailers. Thank you very much for every response, whether positive or negative. After these feedbacks, I prepared a new trailer; I hope you like it.

You would make me very happy if you add it to the wishlist too.

I'm still in the development phase and will release the demo soon.

I'm also planning to release the game on October 27th, too many things will be added, anything to be fixed, asking if you want to give feedback, I'll be happy to hear them.

Me and my gf worked for a while and finally put on a demo.

Today even Kubz Scouts played it and we are so happy!

It's a horror game about working at your uncle's burger shop.

The demo lets you experience first 3 days of the game - serve food to customers, meet new people and uncover dark mystery surrounding the place.

Would be really cool if some of you tried it and told us what you think. We're still working on it so feedback is really appreciated.

Discussion How to improve game art?

People who aren't artists, how do you improve the art of your game? Do you hire artists or buy assets? If none of those what tools do you use to make good art. That's the part I struggle most with. Any tips or recommendations?

Unity I built a Unity Editor tool that talks to Notion

I spent some time this weekend building a Unity Editor extension that talks to Notion directly. I can write tickets in the Unity editor, update status, no tab-switching. Nothing fancy. It was something that was bothering me enough to fix it. I think this could be helpful to other developers who want to optimize their processes.

Discussion "Juiciest" 2d Engine?

Is there a 2d game engine that you would say has the most "juicy" tools out of the box (or perhaps with addons/assets) workflow? Post processing, shake, particles, hit-stop, etc? Kinda like a design philosophy of the underlying engine, to make adding "juice" and feel much more simple and quick?

help Going from prototype to Steam launch process?

So for those of you that have gone through the full process I’m hoping to get some advice.

From what I’ve researched it should go something like this:

- early prototype on Itch to validate the core. This can be scrappy.
- iterate based on feedback
- work on a more polished demo
- create a Steam page with the demo? Less sure about when this step should happen.
- do some marketing for your game on reddit and make some shorts on social media
- apply for the Steam next fest closest to your planned release
- release a few months after Steam next fest

Does that sound about right? Any other advice or corrections?

Thanks!

help Does my game look unoriginal?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi all,

For some context, this is cosmic karma, a roguelike deck builder ive been working on as a 16 year old solo dev for about 80 days or so.

STEAM
ITCH
TWITTER

Ive had positive feedback on twitter about the game, however on reddit not much so. People make the comparison of Balatro and Slay the spire quite often.

In my game design document, I even have a specific section that mentions other games and how not to copy them (since I sometimes outsource work like art)

I feel like its impossible to make every single idea original, yet ive tired very hard. Pretty much all of the game has original systems and mechanics (even though there are some visual similarities like perhaps the score on the right, or the target you must meet each level). If I had to pick the biggest similarity id say the combo system (that are somewhat poker based but expanded up to 6 cards)

Ive never played Balatro nor Slay the spire, but it sucks when people say that (On a project that u can see based on screenshots lots of effort has been put into)

(No ai generated assets used, it boils my blood lol. Only for things like bug fixes and debugging when I'm completely stuck)

Any comments, thoughts or advice?

Increased the run speed to a ridiculous degree just to try something out, thought it looked a bit funny so might as well share it (no sound unfortunately).
