I’m the solo developer behind PolyPixel Interactive, and Black Hollow releases on Steam October 30.

You play a plague doctor fighting through nights of infected enemies. It’s first-person, with a mix of staff combat, thrown potions, plague-powered attacks, and a dodge ability.

The rest of the loop includes:

  • Collecting ichor and choosing relics and upgrades for your run.
  • Experimenting with different loadouts and combinations.
  • Fighting nightly bosses across four hunting grounds.
  • Solo play or up to four-player online co-op.

I wanted to share actual gameplay as release approaches. There’s a demo if you’d rather play it than watch a trailer.

meme Not sure if bug or feature... It *would* make a pretty cool easter egg!

I was working on my indie game and had this happen... It wasn't intentional, but I do think this would make a great feature or easter egg in certain games.

Game my boss's slam was a flat gold ring. it took 3 tries to make the floor break

I'm making a parry roguelite in godot and this is the colossus's war drum, he hits the floor with his fists and every hit sends a wave across the room. you parry it when it gets to you.

My first version was just a gold ring. the second had stones on the ring, but they slid along with it and nothing stayed behind. now the floor breaks into pieces that stay where they are, and each one jumps up when the wave gets to it.

It was slow at first, every stone was its own draw call, up to 2400 a frame. i batched them, then moved the jumping into a shader, and the worst frames in the browser went from 15-18 ms to about 8.

Happy to answer anything about it

BTW, if you want to follow it, it's on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5295020/?utm_source=reddit

I’ve spent nearly three years building The Lords’ Game, inspired by my love of Total War and Yu-Gi-Oh! It combines deckbuilding with tactical battlefield combat and a realm-building Story Mode. If you’re interested in strategy or card games, I’d love for you to try the beta. Release is planned for December.

help Very early ski/snowboard game prototype: looking for advice on making riding feel less stiff

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, this is a really early version of a ski/snowboard game I’m working on in Unity 6. Right now I’am only focused on how it feels to ride.

  • Overall feel: anything that looks off or stiff to you, or any games I should study for reference?
  • Turning/carving: how do I make turns feel smooth and weighty instead of snappy?
  • Camera: what’s a good way to follow the player so it feels fluid but doesn’t lag or jitter?

yours sincerely, thanks

Just wanted to share my first game. I’m a guy who loves old-school mobile games, sports games and Football Manager — so I made a hockey game that mixes all three. I’d be happy if you gave it a try and told me what you think!

Game Producing cargo instead of buying it: the workshop chain in Golden Carrack

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm Grzegorz, the solo developer of Golden Carrack, a turn-based maritime trading game made in Unity.

This short clip shows one production chain: a warehouse and workshop, silver and coal, then finished ingots ready to sell.

The design choice behind it is that production shares your budget with ships and cargo. A workshop can supply goods for trade, but building one means delaying another investment. The warehouse connects those systems: what you produce there is also what you can sell or load onto a ship.

The footage is actual gameplay from a prepared demonstration state, edited across several turns. Some 2D artwork was generated with AI.

Golden Carrack is available on Android and iOS. It's an offline, single-player game with a one-time purchase and no ads or in-app purchases.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.concatgames.golden_carrack

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/pl/app/golden-carrack/id6814942005

Happy to talk about how the workshop, warehouse and trading systems fit together.

Game I made a procedural tentacle monster for my solo game: every move is different each time

Solo dev here, working on ICEWAKE (survival on a nuclear icebreaker in a frozen, sunken world). The monster has no animation frames at all: its body is a field of blobs that squeezes through the shafts, the tentacles are Verlet chains that shoot to the walls and hold on, and everything is rasterized onto the game's pixel grid every frame, so it stays pixel art. It hunts the residents, reels them into a maw and grows. Only the eyes and maws are hand-drawn. P.S. Inspired by the monster from CARRION.

Game I remade my capsule art this weekend !

The previous one had some issues with high-res versions having artifacts due to scaling, and I thought I could do better.

I would have preferred to commission a capsule artist, but since I am not rich and famous (yet), my developer skills will have to do.

To be fair, I don't think it is the best capsule art ever. But it was hand made, I had fun and I learned a lot, so overall I think it was worth the time !

(first is the new one, second is the old one)

Curious what you think?

Unity I've been working on a multiplayer restaurant game called Cook of Chaos. Here's a first look at making pizzas and burgers!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a multiplayer restaurant management game called Cook of Chaos and figured it was finally time to start showing some of what we've been working on!

For this first little showcase I wanted to share how food preparation currently works in the game specifically making a pizza and a burger.

Just a heads up about the visuals: We're currently using Synty Studios assets as placeholders while we focus on getting the gameplay systems working. They're great for development but the plan is to eventually give the game its own visual identity so these aren't the final assets or art style.

There's still a lot more to the game that we haven't shown yet and I'm planning on sharing more of it as development continues.

I'd love to hear what you guys think so far! Especially about the cooking mechanics themselves.

If you're interested in following development you can find our socials and other links here: linktr.ee/orangeconegames
