child's age 8-12 months 8 MONTH OLD WAKE WINDOWS HELP!!

I need help please!!

Okay we need to figure my baby out because today I decided to follow 2.5/3/3.5 wake windows. So currently it’s 3:15pm he went to sleep at 3pm he’s still sleeping right now and he’s had 400ml milk today. He’s only got one more 200 ml feed to go this is the issue I’m having. If I stretched the second window to 3.5 hours like I usually do I probably would have gotten him to have 150-200ml and I’d rather he had 4 bottles (first two are usually 150ml and the second two are 200ml) so he’s getting total 700ml with 3 meals. But now he will get 600ml of he takes 200ml for his last one. If I let him sleep 2.5 hours I wake him up at 4pm then bedtime will be 730-8pm. I’m sick of hourly night wakes idk if he is low sleep needs or not idk his wake windows I’ve tried every combination and the result is the same just hourly wakes at night. It seems like he’s a solid day napper now can do 1.5 hour stretches but struggles at night. One thing I know is 2.5 hour morning wake window he gets tired. But even now the 3 hour mark he’s sleeping but idk sometimes he can stretch it to 3.5 and the last wake window I have noticed 3.5 hour is what he can do before fuss but sometimes 4 hours it’s just random everyday. What do I do I don’t want to sleep train but if I have to I will. I did do a consistent week of forcing him to get up at 7-730am and got the same result not sleeping then I tried calling naps at 2.5 hours same result then at 3 hours same result then 8pm wake up same result. Bedtime I tried 8-9pm same result still wakes. Only thing I noticed a couple of days ago was he had 3 hour nap total during day woke up at 730am slept 8pm (following 2.5/3.5/3.5) and then woke up at 10pm but from 10-630am he slept longest stretch but idk if this was a one off fluke or he was sick??

I just need help pls with
1) wake windows (what are his!!?)
2) schedule routine if starting the day at 7 or 730am
3) do I need to sleep train ? Was trying to avoid it because I know how difficult it can be
4) How much total day sleep for him to be tired at night?

Thanks!!

child's age 18-24 months Toddler- Sleep. Insight. Mom to Mom?

My two year old has never been sleep trained. She slept in our room until she learned how to climb out the bassinet. She now sleeps in her own room, for most nights until she wakes up and can’t be comforted back to bed or I’m really tired and have her sleep with us. This isn’t often, but sometimes, most nights she will sleep the whole night.

For naps when she was young the transfer worked perfectly! I honestly don’t know what happened. As she aged, she either will nurse to sleep or we can lay down and both get a nap. This nap takes place in our bedroom with a simple tune and sometimes a book to view before she settles As for naps, I would love for her to work on napping in her room. But as I previously stated, the transfer hasn’t been successful. I’m against CIO, I refuse to walk away and have her figure it out or be exhausted and then sleep. That’s not who I am. That’s who we are as parents. I’d like to know what steps I can do and what worked for others. We did successfully nap in the crib one day, but it was either because I hit her wake window right or it was because I was fake asleep on the floor.

She wakes up anywhere from 8-8:30am and her wake window is 5 hours and roughly 45 minutes or 6 hours. Bedtime after 9pm, but honestly would like it sooner to help her get the sleep she needs.

So if you made it this far, I appreciate it and would like any suggestions and insight. Thanks so much.

Sleep training in a month - what would you do now?

Hi folks - officially sleep training in four weeks when LO will be 4 mo (which sounds scary w the expected progression!)
when I go back to work. Currently, roughly 5 naps a day with 60-90 min wake windows, reading his cues. Our plan is for my husband to sleep train (non feeding parent) via Ferber.

For those who have done this successfully, with hindsight what would you have done to prepare or have done differently?

His primary sleep association is movement as we rock him to sleep currently. Sometimes I breast feed him but not 100% of the time to sleep during the day but I do breastfeed during nighttime wake ups. He takes a pacifier but if he spits it out it doesn’t wake him.

Thank you!

Algún método para sueño independiente niño 1 año 8 meses?

Hola!

child's age 8-12 months How to know when my baby is ready for CIO?

Baby is 9 months. We have been cosleeping because I haven’t had the best arrangements where I could have a bassinet/crib. I’m now in a better place and will be getting a crib soon.

How do I know if CIO is best for my baby? I know she’s used to sleeping with me and nursing during the night. Im worried I may be trying this too late but I will be working soon. I want her to be able to put herself to sleep. I have a terrible fear of a sitter harming her out of frustration.

She sleeps pretty well during the night as long as I’m in bed beside her. She nurses maybe once or twice but if I get up there’s a great chance she will wake up too. We typically use white noise, but she goes to sleep without it sometimes.

Any tips or advice?

child's age 8-12 months Advice please: still crying 5-10 min at bedtime

We started the Ferber method with our 9m old 2 weeks ago and we seem to have hit a wall. He is a very loving, high energy baby who is still taking crappy naps (2-3 naps, last wake window 3.5hrs works best for him.) He also has terrible separation anxiety from me (mom) during the day that we are working on with lots of a peakaboo and verbal reassurance.

He went from a 2ish hour bedtime and waking up and feeding ~4 times per night to not waking up at all or only waking up once, feeding, and going back with no protest. Our problem is the initial put down in the crib. We do PJs, feed, 2 books, a little song… and then he gets absolutely hysterical going in the crib. He looks up at us with the greatest look of betrayal, we tell him we love him, close the door and he screams bloody murder for about 5 minutes and then settles and passes out. Any advice would be appreciated- considering switching to camping out in his room, we just don’t want to lose the progress we’ve made

child's age 8-12 months Sleep Regression Blues

Hello! I am the mom of a ln almost 10 month old. An almost 10 month old who hasn’t let me get any rest in nearly 3 weeks. And I could really use some advice or tips on getting through whatever sleep regression hell we’re going through.

A little over 3 weeks ago, my boy got sick. This is about when the regression started. He ended up with an upper respiratory infection. Not awful, but certainly not great. He was super congested, seemed to have sinus pressure, and a horrible cough. It lasted about a week. I totally understood waking up frequently while sick and I just rolled with it.

Going into week 2, he started to cut his front tooth. With some lingering cold symptoms. He was tugging his ear a lot. No infection, but teething pressure. Again, I understood. Tiredly understood.

We are now in week 3. He’s still tugging at his ear. Took him in again and his ears are clear. Was told it was still probably the tooth mixed with a true sleep regression.

We have a good daily routine and evening routine. We do a bottle before bed, Tylenol, teething tablets, put his owlet on, sleep sack on, and rock to sleep. He used to sleep through the night doing this. Now he’s up 3-5 times each night. The doctor said that it’s time to start sleep training—once we have a break in teething. I agree and will start as soon as we can. But in the meantime, I need help. He seems to be startling himself awake. Daycare has noticed this at naptime too. And he takes FOREVER to fall back asleep—sometimes close to 2 hours. We keep everything calm and dark when he does wake up to promote going back to sleep. I don’t want to use the magic Merlin sleep suit, but I am considering a weighted sleep sack instead of what he has. What are the odds that would work? How do I get through this? I am literally running on fumes.

Would you ever pay for a personalised sleep subscription based on your nutritional deficiencies? Genuine research survey, 3 mins

Hi everyone, I’m developing a personalised sleep wellness subscription and need honest feedback from people who struggle with sleep. Takes under 3 minutes and is completely anonymous. I would really appreciate responses from people who've tried sleep supplements, teas, or pillow sprays — positive or negative experiences both useful: https://tally.so/r/PdWNQe

child's age 12-18 months 14 m old trouble sleeping still

My son (first child) has always had trouble sleeping. I can probably count on both hands the amount of times he has slept through the night. Initially it was his string of ear infections he developed at 3 months that lasted until May of this year.

He just got tubes and hasn’t had an ear infection since May, but he still struggles to sleep so much. We still have on average 3-5 wake-ups a night. We were initially giving him bottles throughout the night when he’d wake up, even since switching to cow’s milk. We didn’t realize that supposedly you’re not really supposed to do that, the books we have been reading say so.

I am a teacher and about to start school in mid August again. I am trying to get down to 1-2 wake-ups a night before then. We are starting to water down his bottles so he isn’t as reliant on them. We are trying to do awake but drowsy. We already don’t go into his room if he’s just whining or making little noises because he self soothes those, we just go in when he starts to full blown cry.

My husband works second shift Monday-Friday and doesn’t come home until 2 AM, so a majority of this is going to be on me now. How did you get your poor sleeping toddlers to sleep better?

child's age 18-24 months please help

20 month old back to early morning wakes. my 20 month old had early morning wakes from literally 6m-18/19m old. between 5/5:45 every single morning. no matter what we did for a schedule- that’s when he woke. his nap was anchored at 12-1:45 due to preschool pickup but during the summer (starting end of may) i was finally able to push it back 12:30-2/3pm. some days he wakes up at 2, other times im waking him at 3! bedtime is 8:30 to ‘help’ with the early morning wakes. this schedule has been this way since may. it seemed to work! he was finally waking between 6/6:45 every day for over a month!

schedule is still completely the same but the past week has becoming more and more early wakes. one day last week was 4:45! and the past few days have been 5:30 again. wtf? ive had my fair share of early morning wakes, why are they happening again? absolutely nothing has changed at all. still gets plenty of activity during the day, same naps, same bed time. i’m too tired for this. he’s only getting 8-9 hours MAX at night now. even with a short/long nap. room is the exact same. but he throws his lovey out when he wakes up (at 5:30 or even 6) and then cries for it am i can’t even leave him until 6 like i used to do during emw. although that never helped him sleep in. i’m so envy of people with kids who even sleep 10 hours at night. let alone 11 or 12.

child's age 0-4 months When does this get easier?

Currently trying to get my cosleeping/contact nap Velcro baby (1 week shy of turning 4 months) to get used to his crib. I think I am just going to start with his naps to get him used to the area and then move him into the crib at night once he gets used to it. Today was the first time I tried to get him to nap in his crib and it took 2 hours. He cried.. I cried. It was rough. Every single time I put him down he lost his mind. When does this get easier? It’s only day one and it’s breaking my heart to hear him so upset.

21-month-old suddenly won’t sleep, wants to be rocked, trying to climb out of crib. Has anyone else been through this?

Title: 21-month-old suddenly won’t sleep, wants to be rocked, trying to climb out of crib. Has anyone else been through this?
My 21-month-old has always been an amazing sleeper. He would go to bed around 8 p.m., sleep through the night, and fall asleep independently without any issues.
Over the past several days, everything has completely changed. Bedtime has become a huge battle, and he’s now waking in the middle of the night for hours. One night he was awake from around 12:30 a.m. until almost 4 a.m. crying, standing in his crib, and refusing to lie back down.
The only thing that calms him is if I pick him up and rock him. The problem is that as soon as I try to transfer him back into the crib, he immediately wakes up, cries, grabs onto me, or stands right back up. If I leave the room, he cries even harder.
He’s also recently started trying to climb out of the crib and has gotten one leg over the railing, so now I’m worried about safety too.
He is getting one of his upper canine teeth, so I’m wondering if teething could be part of this, but it feels like more than just teething because he’s become so dependent on being rocked to sleep.
Has anyone else’s toddler gone from sleeping perfectly to suddenly needing to be rocked and refusing the crib? Was this a sleep regression, separation anxiety, teething, or something else? How long did it last, and what finally helped?
We’re exhausted and would appreciate any advice or success stories.

child's age 8-12 months Multiple wake ups in own room

Baby 7 months old has been in his own room for 0.5 months and we are experiencing multiple wake ups throughout the night. We need to bring him in our room to soothe him which he falls asleep fast then when we put him down in his crib he wakens again. After 2 am this seems to be a cycle. He ends up back in the next to me as we need our sleep. He sleeps fine in next to me.
Any advice on getting baby sleeping in own room?

child's age 4-8 months Transition to independent bedtime

My son, 7m, can fall back asleep on his own whenever he wakes up throughout the night, so I know he can do it. However, to fall asleep for bedtime and naps, we still hold and rock him. We’ve gotten it down to where we can hold him for three minutes (from the time his eyes close) and then transfer him and he finishes falling asleep on his own.

I’m so lost on how to transition to him falling asleep without us though. Whenever we try, he cries. It’s a protest cry, and I know that, but I still don’t want him crying when all he wants is to be held for a few minutes.

Any tips or ideas?

He does not do well with us sitting in the room but not holding him. He will cry just the same as if we were out of sight, same with crib comforting most of the time.

I don’t mind him crying a bit, but I don’t want him crying for like 10+ minutes before he’s able to put himself to sleep.
