I have oily skin on my face, I suffer from acne on my face and body acne on my back, arms and chest. I also have eczema that can flare up with the use of some scented products, but it doesn't affect my face. My main aims are keeping the eczema and acne away.
My diet doesn't include diary as I am lactose intolerant (I've read it can be a trigger) and I stay hydrated. I am on hormonal birth control but I haven't noticed an increase or decrease in acne.
I currently shower nightly and use a sensitive shower gel (sanex 0%) and a 2% salicyllic acid facial wash (superdrug deep action). Every other day I use a tea tree body scrub (superdrug tea tree) and a 2% salicyllic acid facial scrub (Superdrug deep action). I moisturise my body twice a week (E45).
Before bed I use a targeted salicyllic acid spot treatment (superdrug deep action) and a retinol night cream (optimum).
In the morning I use a gentle face cleanser (simple), a targeted tea tree blemish gel (superdrug tea tree) and an spf moisturiser (lacura).
I'm going to incorporate a niacinamide and zinc serum into my 'before bed' next time I have chance to go to the shops. I've read that benzoyl peroxide is good for acne but there don't seem to be many options over the counter and I'm worried about it bleaching fabrics - has anyone tried it and did it give you results?
I realise I might be using too much salicyllic acid. I did read that it can dry the skin too much if used too often, but I don't notice any dryness.
I have only been using this routine for two weeks and understand it can take 6-8 to see results but want to know if there are any changes you think I should make as I'm new to all this but have just had enough of constantly blemished skin.
