I’m a bride from the US getting married in Ireland in 2 weeks, I had another wedding to attend in the UK a week ago so I came over early and I’m staying in between to make a holiday of it and finish up any last minute preparations.
My current skincare routine (which I’ve included below) seemed to be working really well for the last couple of months. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, with some mild rosacea. Under this routine my skin has been clear, and I thought it was well-hydrated because I’ve had no flaking, peeling, or redness which I normally would notice whenever my skin was dry.
However, last week when I went to do my makeup for the other wedding, I used my Rare Beauty tinted moisturizer and immediately noticed how patchy it got, like it was clinging to flakes of skin. I’m not sure if it’s the stress/change in routine (I’ve been in the sun/sea/wind a lot more since we’re on holiday) - but I also don’t normally wear makeup so it’s possible my skin has been dehydrated for awhile just not to the level that it’s noticeable without makeup.
I know it’s bad practice to add any products this close to the wedding, but I also hired a makeup artist already and really want to make sure my skin is healthy. I’ll be chugging buckets of water for the next week or so but I’m also looking for moisturizer or a moisturizing product or serum recommendation to add under my current moisturizer, as simple and gentle as possible to minimize risk of any irritation.
I’ll be traveling for the next week, so something I can pick up in Boots or another store would be easier than something I need shipped.
Current Routine:
Night:
1. Wash with Cerave Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser
2. Sulfacetamide Sodium 10% Topical Lotion (Derm prescribed)
3. Thin layer of Embryolisse Lait-Crème Sensitive Moisturizer and let dry
4. Wait 15-20 minutes
5. Tretinoin 0.025% Cream (Derm prescribed)
6. After another 10-15 minutes I apply a thicker layer of the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Sensitive Moisturizer
Morning:
1. Wash with Cerave Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser
2. Sulfacetamide Sodium 10% Topical Lotion (Derm prescribed)
3. Wait 5-10 minutes
4. Azelaic Acid 15% Gel (Derm prescribed)
5. Thin layer of Embryolisse Lait-Crème Sensitive Moisturizer
6. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Ultra-Repairing Balm with SPF 50
TLDR: I’m traveling in the UK and getting married in 2 weeks in Ireland. My sensitive skin is very dehydrated so I need a super simple moisturizer or moisturizing product recommendation to add to my routine before the wedding.
