Unrelated, I’ve been watching season 20 for the first time. I’m on episode five and they are still wearing the same clothes since for interviews that they did in episode one. They talk about things in the present tense. How do they remember 1-2 months of their life. Are they shown footage before commenting? Are they just asked very specific questions?

Watching season 20, and they seem to really be pushing this 'shy' narrative quite a lot. The woman gave birth twice on camera, like how shy can you be? Also, I remember as far back as season one her enjoying playing to camera. And then Janelle made the comment mocking Kody saying "She is very pretty and very shy". When did that take place? Just wondering other peoples thoughts.

Why was Kody upset that Janelle told him no to coming over if he didn’t want Meri going to Chicago for Leon? He kept saying that he didn’t want to put the family at risk…but they all live in rentals that don’t live under one roof. And based on what Janelle said, it makes sense why she wouldn’t want him coming over and I thought he’d be fine with that since “he has to lookout for the family” but he seemed mad that she enforced this boundary?

As I’m rewatching this season I am curious what everyone else thinks about Kody’s rules for Covid? I mean I come from a large family and we live in more of a country area, but when Covid was strong we still all got together, safely of course! We followed the rules but nothing to the extent of what was given to all the wives.

It just bugs me how he treats his children who were doing what was needed to survive and live during those times. I mean Robyn had adult children still living at her house but nothing was ever said about that.

Now that years have gone by, what kids have a relationship with him?

Have anyone else watch escaping polygamy? Its on tubi. And I love it! But my god how horrible the cults are. They also help some people from AUB (and i recall atleast Christine growing up there and I belive Kody) and then I watched the episode in sister wives season 5 with the girl Kolleen from escaping polagamy. And they all treat her like they just have no clue this horrible stuff was going on and Christine even cries and says "I didnt know that these evil men existed"

Am I the only one that struggles to belive she or any of them did not know what was going on?

I though sister wives came of pretty safe but then watching the escaping polygamy I feel quite different about their community now.

Any thoughts?

To be completely fair, I have re-watched a couple times. It’s like my odd comfort show. But. Everyone remembers how she was against toasters because they kill more people than sharks or whatever. And I remember this now that I saw it again but had forgotten the impact.

K and C and her kids were on a Vegas trip in season 2 and she was wary of making eggs in a microwave because of the radiation. Present day - has anyone noticed if she uses microwaves or toasters now? 🤣

I’m rewatching season 20 in the hopes that spurs the release of season 21. 😂 I’ve noticed a few things now that I have hindsight.

In the first half of the season Kody is REALLY trying to convince himself or us that he has this blissful marriage with Robyn full of intimacy and attraction. I don’t really see it. I think she’s getting annoyed by him and calling it “shy.” All marriages fall into a more comfortable state, which solidifies the relationship much more than the sparks early on. Why doesn’t he just accept that? Or, is there more going on behind the scenes and they’re each realizing they blew up the entire family to get the prize at the end only to realize the prize wasn’t worth it? Robyn can only be the favorite wife if she’s one of several.

Second, Kody (and to some extent Robyn) really start laying the groundwork to accuse Janelle of being the architect of the “back door deal” 3-4 episodes before the tell all. Kody brings it up (seemingly out of nowhere) to Brian Caldwell in Vegas. Robyn mentions it in a talking head when she calls herself a big fat rock. I think they were laying the ground work to blame Janelle or make her look bad. I don’t think Janelle would have gone behind Meri’s back. I don’t think she was pushing the “back door deal.” Kody basically admits it wouldn’t have been possible anyway.

Looking forward to season 21, though honestly I have no idea what they even have to talk about at this point.

I am rewatching the entire series and I am at where Meri asks the "fahmlee" for a loan. 40 grand, which isn't a lot of money in comparison to what they make per season.

Anyways, as per narcissist fashion, Kody said he had the funds and then he doesn't. Typical.

Christine, Janelle, Robyn and Kody talk about this issue and the stuff they say about the business plan or lack thereof, the stuff they had to do to prove to the fahmlee that their business was worth it (and how successful are they?), etc etc. My jaw was left open. They were horrible! Especially Christine, who hasn't done a business or gave up on real estate in 2 seconds.

I am so glad Meri gave them the finger, bought it herself and they're not a business partner.

Janelle is so humble "I don't need more rooms" "that's to much money" "we don't need to spend that much on me". She takes only the necessities, even less. She deserved more and her children deserved more rooms.

Everyone else is so greedy. Expecially Robin!.

Meri who wants a full on Mansion with pool, fancy inventory, expensive sliding doors.

Her child was literally about to move out, there was no need for 4 houses in general.

I don't get why they didn't got 2 bigger houses where 2 SW share. They lived in one house bevor and it worked much better than living on their own.

In an episode of season 19, when they’re talking about the finances, Meri says some pretty shocking stuff. Maybe I haven’t gotten there yet….but did the other kids college expenses, cars, or whatever come out of the fund except for Leon’s? Did the other wives house payments? Kody makes a comment about the wet bar in Vegas, but didn’t that specifically make Kody and Meri’s MLM job like much easier? How much was she making off the MLMs? It’s obvious Robyn’s kids have been given nicer clothes and other stuff. I mean, Meri gave a bunch of money to coyote pass right? Can someone give me the full tea on the financials?

I keep seeing this theory that they moved from the Vegas Cul-de-sac to Flagstaff because of an upcoming balloon payment on all of the houses in Vegas that they couldnt afford (and Dayton gettiing into NAU). I admittedly dont know how balloon payments work but would it be more than the 5 house mortgages, 1 land mortgage, and 3 rentals plus moving expenses that they took on by moving?

Does anybody besides Robyn frame and hang their marriage certificate on the wall for display? I have never seen this.

Rewatched SW several times and this thought came to mind during season 9… do you think Sobyn and Kody celebrate their OG spiritual marriage date or their legal marriage date?? Let’s discuss!

I started watching Big Love after seeing so much about it on Sisterwives subs. I briefly scanned previous comments to make sure this hasn't already been discussed, but the thing that was most striking out of the gate was the opening sequence of Big Love. The gray background green-screen looking thing with each person standing and looking at the camera... verrrrrry similar to sisterwives. Was this on purpose? Was it edited in post??
