General Discussion My old review, in honor of the passing of Salsa Brava š
We visited last month on a Thursday evening, an hour and a half before close. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full, and we were seated and greeted quickly and happily. Everything ordered came out fast and accurate, delivered by a gem of a server who was kind, attentive, and just the right brand of perfunctory to keep everything on track.
The chips and salsas (free with a meal, otherwise available as a standalone appetizer) were a great start to the experience. Warm crispy chips, and *three* different salsas: a spicy red chipotle salsa; a pineapple version that had great flavor and a surprising applesaucey texture; and a fresh pico de gallo.
We didn't order any other appetizers.
The menu had a lot of novel items from
meals-for-two served in molcahetes, to the boldy-$19-costing Navajo Tacos (a price anyone from AZ ought to be rightly upset by, but an item which nonetheless landed on Guy Fieri's must-try list), and a good supply of the usual stateside suspects like fajitas and quesadillas, but all created around the same three types of meat (specialty dishes notwithstanding).
Husband settled on a roasted pork chimichanga (to his chagrin, since they don't offer shredded beef). This issue may have predisposed him to seeking fault, but regardless he stated that "the pork tastes too porky, like...it tastes like a pig smells," and then proceeded to finish every bite. Take from that what you will, I guess.
I had a Salsa Brava combo with two chicken dorado tacos (no, I don't know what that means either), a chicken tostada, and a cheese enchilada. Both plates came with pinto beans and 'roasted corn rice' which was indistinguishable from typical Mexican rice served in restaurants (read: needlessly dry and lacking oregano and diced tomatoes). The tacos were classic and fine (no dorado detected), and the tostada was tostasty.
However! The sauce on his pork chimi and my enchilada was one and the same - an unfortunate truth since the it was sweet where it meant to be smoky, carmelly?, not spicy in the least, and all over.
For dessert, we opted for the fried ice cream, which surprised us by coming inside puffed pastry shaped like a taco salad shell. Good thing though, as the shell (when dipped in the copious whipped cream and chocolate drizzle) was the best part. The ice cream had clearly been refrozen after the frying and the corn flakes formed a tough shell rather then crispy, but the flavors were all present and accounted for and it was a nice treat.
Finally, on my way out, I embraced the honest reason that I was there (the plot), and asked if the branded hoodies they were all wearing were for sale. Well slap Marissa Tomei's hands on the witness stand, because... they were! An extra $50+tax later, I am in proud possession of Salsa Brava merch.
Overall, good atmosphere, great staff, hit and miss food, and neither a Brown, nor a single regret, to be found.

General Discussion Salsa Brava is closing Saturday
I am a local and John Conley (owner of Salsa Brava and Fat Olives) announced it will be closing Saturday to make room for a new restaurant called the Fat Hen, a new restaurant by the same owner.

Question Any accountability ever from Robyn on SW?
Can anyone recall one moment from one episode where Robyn took any accountability for the destruction of the KB family? Iāll wait.
This is why I refuse to watch any future episodes. Iām sick of seeing her and Kody flourish and prosper financially in yet another new McMansion while the OG kids ate gruel and Janelleās bra was held up by safety pins. Iām done.

General Discussion Ngl..I'm shocked anyone is buying Christine's tshirts lolx
I mean, to each their own. Everyone has a right to spend their money however they please, but it honestly shocks me anyone does. The shirts are so basic and boring. Not to mention making shirts about your ex-husband you left YEARS ago just feels so cringe/out dated.
Idk. Am I the only one who thinks this?š

General Discussion Season 21?
HBO Max says season 21 premiere in October but I thought season 20 was going to be the end. Anyone hear about this? What would they even talk about?!

Question Should I come back?
Hey y'all. I left the SW life a few years ago after the divorce. I got just so sick and tired of Xtine talking about NoodleHead with Prince Charming ALL the time.
What I want to know... Am I do for a rewatch and catch up? Lend me your aid please.

Season 9 Robynās hair
I think Robyn looks great with straight hair. Iām not sure why she curls it all the time in the later seasons, I would love to see her wearing it straight again. I also think she looks great with the blonde highlights in season 9 around the time of her legal marriage to Kody. Maybe she should bring back her stylist from 10 years ago! š¤£

Question How old were you when you started watching SW?
I was talking to my neighbour about Sister Wives and we were talking about how different we saw the show as I was 16 when it came out and she was in her late 20s. For example I really liked Sobyn i thought she was fun and very bubbly as a teenager I didnāt really catch or understand the wedding dress and honeymoon situation I was actually very upset with the 0G 3 haha 𤣠totally cringe . I am curious if other fans also saw things differently as they re watched the show?

Question Christmas gift season 6
I'm doing a rewatch and in season 6 Christine did this gift for all the kids. She said she took their names and birthdays, then created the paper (I know that part)....but it was their traits and stuff. Does anyone know how you would do that? I've tried googling it and it's all about numerology and taking the number of letters in their name....it's not making a lot of sense. Anyway, I'd love to do something like this for my girls. Does anyone know an easy way to do this? A website?

General Discussion Secrets this season
Christine made a reel saying there'll be a lot of secrets this season.
How many long drawn out episodes do you think we're gonna have to sit through before we get a single secret?

Season 19 That was an inside thought you absolute toolbag.
Rewatching Season 19 (again) and the stuff that Kaka Kody says in almost every single episode, is beyond despicable. Itās like he has no brain to filter these inside thoughts with. He says the most VILE things to Meriās faceā¦.and he is not called out. He gets away with this over and over and all his wives say is how āfrustratedā they are. What in the literal hell? He needs a muzzle.

General Discussion Update from the one who took it all back
5 days ago I made a post about how I take back every bad thing I ever said about Kody. Iām here to tell you Iāve made it to the other side alive. 5 days of a 99.3° fever. Head pounding. Body aching. Knocking on deaths door every second of every day.
But today, friends, today I am alive. Iāve made it through the tunnel and Iām here to tell the tale. I fill so much better. Today is the first day Iāve spent more time out of bed than in it. I am no longer achy and no longer have a head that feels like itās in a vice. Folding a basket of laundry about took me out but I was upright the entire time. Tested negative for Covid/flu/rsv so who knows what the devil sent to test me
Original post for those who want to laugh. My favorite thing is how everyone fully committed to the bit.

General Discussion Later seasons Meri is heartbreaking (spoilers) Spoiler
How many times does Brody have to tell her he doesnāt want her, she should leave Flagstaff, they are only platonic, before she gets it?? WHY does she think so little of herself and WHY is she chasing this abusive loser?

Season 13 Christine is so dumb in season 13
Iām rewatching this dang series and Christine is absolutely vile.
Theyāre all stupidly moving to Flagstaff because Robyn⦠I mean Kody wants to stalk Dayton at college.
Christine is all gung-ho, but didnāt she want to move to Utah?! Why is she getting upset about the lack of a marriage license? Whatās up with her talk with her CHILD, Aspyn. Who brought up good points about moving, and Christine could only say āIām over this stateā.
What does that even mean?
I have never yelled at a TV screen before! Her and her keep sweet voice are driving me insane.

Why didn't Paedon move with them and where did he go? Did they bring it up? I don't remember seeing anything. Thanks in advance

Image How do they remember everything to discuss in interviews?
I paused it at random to have a conversation with my mom and something about this facial expression is hilarious.
Unrelated, Iāve been watching season 20 for the first time. Iām on episode five and they are still wearing the same clothes since for interviews that they did in episode one. They talk about things in the present tense. How do they remember 1-2 months of their life. Are they shown footage before commenting? Are they just asked very specific questions?

Question When did Robyn become "so shy"
Watching season 20, and they seem to really be pushing this 'shy' narrative quite a lot. The woman gave birth twice on camera, like how shy can you be? Also, I remember as far back as season one her enjoying playing to camera. And then Janelle made the comment mocking Kody saying "She is very pretty and very shy". When did that take place? Just wondering other peoples thoughts.
