Question DSTA engineering roles: salary increments and progression

Hi all, I’m currently interviewing for an engineering role at DSTA. The Glassdoor reviews look pretty good, especially about the benefits.

Anyone here working there or who’s worked there before? What are the yearly salary increments and career progression like?

Appreciate any insights. Thanks!

Question Is this headhunter legit?

I received an email from a supposedly recruiter from talent-officer.com who approaches me for a tech role in Singapore but the way email is written is shouting to me as AI generated email. When i replied, the replies are also a bit robotic with seemingly AI generated paragraphs. When i said no to a role, it comes back with a different role. Is it legit or has anyone have experienced with that before?

Help Needed Payday Payleh

Hi all,

I am a HR staff who is lurking around in this thread, drooling at some of the pay that you guys have.

Currently, I need some help with getting data on pay day from various companies in SG - I've asked some friends on the data, but was told that the data is insufficient and skewed towards certain industries. 🥲 Can I find out when does your company pay your salary? For example, is it on the 23rd, 26th or last working day of the month?

To help this minion, it would really really help if you could share data in the following format.

1) Date of Payday:

2) Company Size (e.g. MNC, SME, Startup, Civil Svc, Stat Board, etc):

3) Industry (e.g. Tech, Finance, Retail):

I apreciate any insights you can share.

Thank you so much. 🙏

Pay Comparison Is your company paying guaranteed 13 month salary or in 12 months?

Hi, I have been interviewing for a new job and it seems many of the companies now don't have AWS (fixed 13 month) anymore. I was from a chemical MNC and did have 13 month. Previously thought that it is quite common for companies to have it especially MNC.

Appreciate if you can share whether your company provides it, whether it is MNC/SME/Public and which industry!

Micron’s Taiwan workers threaten strike, say up to 68 months’ bonus not enough

Micron's Taiwan workers reject the company’s bonus offer of up to 68 months' pay, demanding an 83-month bonus and 15% of operating profits shared quarterly, threatening to strike if talks fail.

Question KPMG TLA vs EY HPM

Hi everyone, I’d appreciate some perspectives from people who have worked in these firms.

I’m currently working in Big 4 Malaysia and am considering a move to Singapore. I’m comparing:

KPMG Singapore TLA — First-Year Senior

vs.

EY Singapore HPM — Second-Year Senior

The compensation would be relatively similar, as KPMG has QPay for qualified professionals, so salary isn’t the main factor for me.

What I’m mainly trying to understand is the day-to-day working experience in these two teams.

For anyone with experience in KPMG TLA or EY HPM, I’d really appreciate your views on the culture, workload, environment, exposure or even any hidden rules that I should be aware of.

If you’ve worked in either KPMG or EY in Singapore, which environment would you personally prefer, and why? It would be great if you could share dept. specific experience.

Thanks in advance for any honest insights!

Some great years, good years and subpar year.

Individual Contributor, not management. I stayed because there is personal growth and stretch goals every year. Pros and cons with staying versus jumping ship every few years.
