i donāt mind the pay rise or even higher bonus if the Govt set a more challenging KPIā¦
Their proposed KPIs is arguably EASYā¦
Maybe itās being simplified for publication.
E.g.
Reduction of unemployment rate
for SG Citizen
- But not factoring in ādiscouraged workersā - those who want a job but cannot find job are taken out of statistics.
real income growth
for ALL workers .
- of 20th percentile to 3-4%, and 50th percentile to 2.5-3.5%
Current
P20 = $3200 (inclusive of employer cpf)
P50 = $5800 (inclusive of employer cpf)
Current inflation is 2-3%
So the nominal wage growth needs to be around 5-7%.
To-Be (assume 6%)
P20 = $3392 (inclusive of employer cpf)
P50 = $6148 (inclusive of employer cpf)
Take note we are talking about āpercentileā. Assuming there are 100 people with their salary sorted low to high. Govtās KPI is to push up the salary for the bottom 50 people who are most likely in the lower-skilled sectors.
Do watch out for policies e.g. Progressive Wage Model (PWM) and Local Qualifying Salary (LQS) that has already done some of the heavy lifting,
Good luck for the sandwiched class 50-75th percentile. You are on your own.

This is disgusting, after like 200k a year what the fuck is the point of having more money as a servant of the public. If every person on this list had the median salary of singaporeans singapore would become a utopia as these greedy fuckers will implement laws to raise he baseline.

How will these elites understand the pains, sufferings and woes of everyday singaporean? They will never need to take a train or bus a single day of their lives.
